Chapter 1308: Film Festival Part 1

As the sun rose from the sky, its shining rays penetrated through the curtain of a certain room.

Within the illumination, two figures were seen sleeping next to each other in the bed.

But don’t let your perverted and naughty mind intrude on you.

The two figures were fully clothed despite being embraced.

A few seconds later, one of the sunlit hit their eyes.

"Ungh, it’s morning already?" Carmen struggled to open her eyes.

By the time she opened one of her eyelids, she realized her right leg was wrapped around Xu Feng. As if that wasn’t enough, her right hand was very dishonest, having gone under Xu Feng’s shirt and touching his bare chest.

Others might become embarrassed and quickly retract their leg and hand away.

However, that was only for the ridiculous woman who didn’t dare to express their love.

Rather than retracting, Carmen made sure to tighten her right leg and groped around his chest further with her right hand. Her face was filled with a sly grin, and she felt quite happy about the intimate contact.

"Do you love touching me that much?" With all the touching, Xu Feng was awakened by her action as he raised the question.

"Of course," Carmen replied boldly.

"Do you not want me to touch further? If you say yes, then I wonder who smeared my lipstick all over the place last night. Even coating my face with their saliva, acting as if they’re some moisturizer. I don’t lack any skincare."

Her response was half threat and half tease.

Her implication was quite clear, though. You’d better let her touch and express her love; otherwise, don’t blame her for denying him any more kisses or intimate acts.

"Touch me however you want." Xu Feng mused and pulled her closer to him.

He soon touched her right hand gently and said, "I’ve worked so hard to maintain a fit body for you to touch. Don’t you think I deserve some reward?"

"A reward, eh?" A mischievous grin could be seen on Carmen’s face. She lifted her chin up slightly and began planting many small kisses on Xu Feng’s face.

Xu Feng didn’t resist one bit and simply enjoyed the moment. Never once did it cross his mind that the scene of being kissed by Carmen in the early morning would happen.

’I was really quite the fool to stall till now.’ Xu Feng thought to himself, feeling like he had missed out on so many opportunities to enjoy this particular moment.

Still, the regret only lasted for a few short seconds.

He knew very well that if he had confessed early on, then the result might not necessarily be like this.

Sometime later, Carmen got out of bed and dressed herself.

"I’ve received a message from Veronica."

Still on the bed, Xu Feng asked lazily. "What did she say?"

"First off, she wants to strangle you. Secondly, she wants to strangle you again." She responded very casually.

"Not a surprise." He nodded. Had it been him on the receiving end of Veronica, then he would definitely hold the same thoughts.

"What’s the last part?"

"The last part is about our short drama. Its popularity had surpassed many expectations, and we were invited to the upcoming international film festival."

Upon hearing that they had been invited to a prestigious film festival, Xu Feng didn’t react much.

To be honest, the script he used was indeed an original piece. However, he had gotten inspiration from the past timeline scripts and incorporated some of the exciting plotlines.

"You don’t seem surprised by the invitation," Carmen commented. She had thought he might show some happiness. After all, being invited to such a film festival would definitely boost their financial income.

Although the establishment of Vanguard Entertainment Group didn’t have a physical office building, the company was still registered and recognized as legitimate.

There had been many phone calls going to Veronica as of late to invest in their company.

Needless to say, the majority of them were politely rejected. As for those who resorted to threats or violence, they were promptly placed on the blacklist, never to be cooperated with again in the future.

"The invitation was to be expected." Xu Feng glanced at the ceiling and smiled.

"Exclusivity and the tedious process to access more episodes were merely a marketing tool to rile the audience up. People are really masochists sometimes. The harder it is to access, the more they wish to gain access." He yawned.

This particular mindset was similar to how a platform could have fan-locked content of sexy stuff. Many masochistic people would shower the creator with money just to see some tease photos as opposed to the free full exposure photos.

Despite knowing there were free things online. They still chose to pay for lesser content, which could be summarized in one word: exclusivity.

The more exclusive the content was, the greater its value became.

"Tell those in charge of Vanguard Entertainment to spread the news that we have been invited to the film festival and drop a few more episodes for the day." Xu Feng instructed.

Strike the iron while it is hot!

He wanted to let the public quickly understand and realize that the value of his entertainment company was not some joke to be brooded over.

"Already done that." Carmen rolled her eyes. "If I still had to wait for your orders, then we would have long missed the prime time."

"Is that so?" A bit surprised, Xu Feng was quickly pleased with her swift and precise action.

"Is that all?" He then asked. If that was the only news, then she shouldn’t have gotten out of bed this early.

The time was still 7:15 AM.

"You’ve really gotten rusty, Feng. Is it because of the kisses?" Carmen took a jab at him. "The three actresses that you recruited had all exploded in popularity. Don’t you know how many directors and scriptwriters contacted us to have them join their projects?"

"Eh, what does that have to do with you, though?"

"I’m the director of the hit short drama. Those three are also wicked enough to say they will only discuss when I’m present."

Xu Feng feigned ignorance and promptly plopped down on the bed. He refused to meddle in this kind of muddy water.
