Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 962: Replaced

Chapter 962: Replaced

The crowd spectating the stage only thought about Kelso's emotion and rage, but Xu Feng was focusing on their battle style and resources.

The System never implemented any restriction in the one vs one.

All it stated was that players could challenge others, and if successful, they would replace the latter.

This implicit explanation made it clear that the System only cared for the victor.

As for how the victor achieved their result, the System wouldn't care.

"Kelso's going to lose." He softly muttered.

"Eh, you've mistaken the person, right?" Carmen, who was by his side, naturally heard the soft comment he made. "Reckonizer is being pushed back still, and his health point has already dropped to 50%. Kelso, on the other hand, is still quite healthy at 70%."

Nodding, Xu Feng obviously understood this point. But what Carmen failed to factor in was the players' current emotional state.

Although Reckonizer was indeed startled and stunned by Kelso's accusation, he remained mostly composed. He was controlling the pace of the battle as opposed to Kelso, who was seemingly trying to vent his frustration by going extremely aggressive.

If Kelso was in the right state of mind, then it was really hard for Reckonizer to turn the tables.

Not everyone was perverse like him in the Cleric Class, who could overturn a big disadvantage.

Carmen wanted to inquire further, but ultimately chose not to. Instead, she decided to concentrate on the battle stage and analyze it by herself.

Since Xu Feng had already given her a heads-up that Kelso would lose, she wanted to see how Reckonizer would reverse the situation.

Back at the battle stage, Reckonizer was continuously being pushed back by an aggressive Kelso.

"Why are you cowering now, huh?" Kelso sneered coldly and bashed the latter harder. "Only know how to put up a barrier? I remember you being very cocky and arrogant. Why not wear a Stealth Cloak and appear majestic like you did?"

BAM!

As Kelso hammered through the barrier constructed by Reckonizer, the latter simply gritted their teeth.

'Damn it, which bastard was it that impersonated me and framed me for such a crime!' By now, Reckonizer could mostly confirm that someone had used his identity to provoke the Cyclone Guild's Lightning Branch Leader.

He hadn't retaliated much because he wanted to see through the situation.

His conclusion was that Kelso wasn't faking it.

After all, Reckonizer was positive that his hidden identity of being affiliated with the Malefic Order Guild should be known to someone of Kelso's status.

If Kelso's emotion was real and raw, then it was only obvious that someone else had used this information to deploy such a deadly scheme.

The scheme was to cause a rift among the Super Guild and possibly to incite war using his secret identity.

Despite knowing Kelso was swindled, Reckonizer had no intention of losing.

He had worked so hard and even cowered to ensure his survival in the battle royale round. There was no way he would allow a crazed Kelso to ruin his path to glory.

'To hell with your rotten brain!' Reckonizer's eyes were set ablaze, and he set out to retrieve an item from his inventory.

However, before the item was pulled out, someone from the crowd said something that made him pause.

"Hmm, I don't know what's going on, but this Reckonizer really messed up. There's no way he could win."

Had the voice belonged to anyone else, then Reckonizer would have scoffed and proved how wrong their judgment was. Unfortunately, he couldn't do so, nor did he dare to even say those words aloud.

The voice belonged to none other than CarangeBound, who had made his statement.

To others, it seemed like CarnageBound was agreeing with the majority's gossip, but in reality, he was informing Reckonizer in a subtle manner to give up.

Yes, give up the match.

Reckonizer was clearly very unwilling to follow through with such an unfair command.

Why should he give up?

Why should he give face to a person who was clearly rotten in the brain?

They couldn't even understand that they had already become a pawn for someone else.

Nevertheless, Reckonizer could only resign his fate, granted that CarnageBound's next word made him somewhat bittersweet.

"The stage allowed multiple challenges as long as one possessed a Resonance Shard. The shard could even be traded among eliminated and surviving players, so I wonder who can offer a price to exchange." CarnageBound raised the question and glanced at the crowd with a curious expression.

"Haha, CarnageBound must be joking. The external force players appeared united, but who doesn't know they are all selfish. I've possessed one, but I will trade it to revive one of my elite." Driftcore's representative, Shaun, laughed heartily and chimed in.

While there were those unaware of the implication, Shaun naturally knew what CarnageBound was attempting to do and thus assisted him dearly.

CarnageBound also laughed merrily in response and gave Shaun a silent approval look.

After all, Driftcore was destined to become a great supporter of their Malefic Order Guild, and CarnageBound knew Shaun was a clever person as well. He knew where his limit was and what his role was about.

With that being said, there was no more suspense.

A few minutes later, Reckonizer crumbled under the full berserk mode of Kelso.

System Notification: Challenger Kelso has successfully defeated Player Reckonizer and replaced the latter to become eligible as a trial contender! Player Reckonizer has been shifted to the eliminated stage!

As the system prompt appeared on top of the stage, nearly everyone expected such a scene. Some of them were more aware than others, who knew this outcome was for the best.

Only one certain individual was quite soured as he became the target of a tease on repeat.

"Guild Leader, seems like your prediction is no longer valid. Everything you deduce or guess lately has been incorrect. It's a good thing you don't buy lottery tickets. Otherwise, I'm afraid you might go bankrupt and even sell your virtual helmet to sustain." Carmen shook her head and commented.

She even showed some sympathy for Xu Feng and patted his back, almost as if saying it was alright to be down on their luck.
