SSS Awakening: I Can Class Change at will

Chapter 157: Moon Vs Crab King [2]

Chapter 157: Moon Vs Crab King [2]

Moon whistled sharply for Mirage, who immediately galloped over despite the danger. Moon vaulted smoothly onto the evolved horse’s back, gaining instant mobility advantage.

“Come on, buddy. I need you to keep moving fast in a circle around this oversized crab. Just make absolutely sure you don’t stay in one position for too long, those water lances will punch straight through both of us if they connect.”

Mirage neighed understanding and immediately began circling the massive Crab King at high speed, maintaining approximately ten meters of distance from the creature’s attack range.

The Crab King rotated constantly to track Moon’s movement, its enormous eyes following the circling target while simultaneously launching attacks. Pressurized water lances and compressed sand shot toward Moon from multiple angles as the creature tried to predict his trajectory.

Moon dodged most attacks by exploiting Mirage’s superior agility and speed, weaving between the attacks. When dodging wasn’t viable, Moon used his own elemental attacks to intercept and neutralize incoming threats mid-flight.

This continued for approximately a minute before Moon spotted the opening he’d been waiting for.

The Crab King committed to a particularly large sand attack, gathering enormous quantities of beach material into a massive attack that required its full concentration to control and launch.

’Now!’

“Hold steady for three seconds!” Moon commanded Mirage, who immediately understood and maintained straight trajectory despite every instinct screaming to keep dodging.

During the moment he was dodging the incoming attack, Moon unleashed his prepared combination attack in rapid sequence.

First, he sent a massive wave of water surging forward—not as an attack, but as a battlefield control technique. The liquid rushed across the sand between them, saturating the ground and eliminating the Crab King’s ability to quickly gather defensive sand barriers.

Immediately behind the water wave, Moon released his fully charged Ignite spell. The crimson-gold fireball screamed through the air, following the exact path the water had cleared.

The Crab King recognized the danger instantly. With no dry sand immediately available for defense and the water wave preventing quick barrier formation, it had only one option—erect maximum defenses using whatever materials were accessible.

The creature slammed all four pincers into the wet sand beneath it, pulling up enormous quantities of sand to form a desperate protective wall.

WHOOSH!

BOOM!

The two attacks struck the hastily erected mud barrier almost simultaneously.

Water saturated the defensive structure further, turning the sand into liquid-heavy mud that had far less defensive power. Then Ignite detonated against the weakened barrier with devastating force.

Mud fought desperately against superheated flames and concussive energy.

Ignite won.

The Epic-rank spell punched through the compromised defenses, its power diminished but still lethal. The explosion struck the Crab King’s crimson shell directly, and for the first time, visible damage appeared on the seemingly impenetrable armor.

Tiny hairline cracks spider-webbed across the carapace where the attack had connected.

The Crab King screeched in pain and fury as the burning effect took hold too.

But Moon wasn’t finished.

While the creature was still reeling from the frontal assault and its vision was obscured by residual steam and debris, Moon had already repositioned. Mirage had carried him in a wide arc during the exchange, and now they’d flanked to the Crab King’s vulnerable side.

Without hesitation, Moon extended his hand and channeled his most concentrated lightning strike yet.

CRACK!

The electrical bolt lanced across the ten-meter gap instantly, striking the Crab King’s flank where its shell segments connected, a weak point that provided less protection than the main carapace.

The creature had no time to erect defenses or dodge. The lightning connected with full force.

The Crab King’s entire body seized up as electricity coursed through its nervous system. Its legs locked rigid. Its pincers froze mid-motion. The paralysis effect took hold completely, rendering the massive predator temporarily helpless.

Moon grinned fiercely.

“Got you.”

This was his chance for a killing blow.

Moon did not stop his assault. He continuously channeled lightning toward the paralyzed Crab King, maintaining the electrical current to keep the creature completely immobilized.

The Crab King’s natural defenses were incredibly impressive—its physiology allowed it to retain some minimal movement capability even while enormous voltage coursed through its entire body. The creature’s legs twitched with minuscule adjustments, and its eyes maintained focus despite the paralyzing shock.

Moon took that residual resistance as a personal challenge. He poured even more mana into the lightning attack, intensifying the electrical current beyond what should have been necessary. The crackling energy grew brighter and more violent, arcs of electricity dancing across the Crab King’s crimson shell in chaotic patterns.

That increase had its own side-effects, Moon was slowly starting to lose his sense of touch on his hands. The lightning was a twin-edged sword that was also capable of cutting him.

CRACKLE! BZZZZT!

Eventually, even the Crab King’s extraordinary constitution couldn’t withstand the attacks. Its internal organs began cooking from the inside as the electrical energy disrupted every biological function. Neural pathways fried. Muscle tissue seized permanently. Critical systems shut down in cascading failure.

The creature’s body went completely rigid one final time. Then it collapsed heavily onto the sand.

THUD!

The impact sent tremors through the beach that everyone fighting on the shoreline could feel through their feet—Yara, Selene, the Savi warriors, and even the remaining crabs who’d been battling desperately to help their leader.

Life visibly drained from the Crab King’s two enormous orbs as they glazed over with death. Its four massive pincers fell limply to either side, no longer possessing the strength to remain raised.

The Crimson Titan was dead.

The tremor of its fall and the visual confirmation of their leader’s death shocked everyone present into momentary stillness.

Selene stared in absolute disbelief, her current spell half-formed and forgotten. “He defeated an S-rank beast… completely alone… in just a few minutes?”

Her voice carried internal shock. Compared to others, Selene was the person that knew Moon the most, yet somehow, he always managed to surprised her with his powers, as if she didn’t know him at all.

S-rank beasts were supposed to require full parties of experienced awakeners working in coordination. Solo kills were legendary achievements that only the pinnacle of human fighters had managed to achieve, she was witnessing it first hand and Moon had just made it look almost normal.
