Chapter 3414: Boundless Arrives
Chapter 3414: Boundless Arrives
Long Xi knew nothing about what Lu Yin had experienced. “Since I was accepted as Garan Zhiluo’s disciple, my strength has improved significantly.”
The White Dragon Clan had always specialized in spear techniques, while Garan Zhiluo’s weapon also happened to be a spear. Lu Yin had asked Garan Zhiluo to accept Long Xi as her disciple, and the woman had agreed. She had also grown quite fond of her disciple.
“That’s enough. You don’t need to go,” Lu Yin said before simply vanishing.
Long Xi stared at the empty shore of the lake, her expression falling.
Too many people were too eager to accompany Lu Yin to the Spirit Nidus. There was a constant stream of them arriving at the Heavens Sect and applying to join the expedition.
Anyone who knew about the existence of the Spirit Nidus, let alone the fact that Lu Yin intended to travel to it, had to have a significant background.
Long Xi had learned of this matter from Garan Zhiluo. The others had their own sources.
Even so, none of them were able to find Lu Yin.
He had arrived at Astral-10.
This was the place where he had truly started cultivating. In the previous timeline, everyone in Astral-10 had been slaughtered, but the temporal reversion had returned everything to normal.
Lu Yin strolled through Astral-10, observing the students’ vibrant energy. Doing so lifted his spirits considerably.
None of the students could see through his disguise.
He soon arrived at the Treasury.
"Kids, this is a Money Bomb! Young people these days truly lack knowledge. Even if you haven’t heard of Money Bombs, you must have heard of the Heavens Sect, right? The Heavens Sect specifically sought me out to produce custom Money Bombs for them! What? You don’t want it? Then get lost! Not an ounce of discernment!"
Several students quickly fled. “I’ve heard for a long time that Old Cai will swindle students, and it turns out to be true. What’s a Money Bomb? They’re only as strong as a Hunter’s attack. How is that any use to us?”
"He even shamelessly claims that Lord Lu once asked him for Money Bombs. Is Lord Lu really that weak? A weapon as strong as a Hunter? Even peak powerhouses don’t mean anything to the Dao Monarch."
"A swindler. He’s just a swindler."
Lu Yin brushed past the students with a smile as he continued to walk over to Old Cai.
The old man noticed Lu Yin’s arrival, but he was unable to see through his disguise. Old Cai’s expression instantly sharpened. “Who are you?”
Lu Yin then revealed his true appearance. “It’s been a long time, Mentor.”
Old Cai was stunned. “Little Seve- No, Dao Monarch Lu? Why are you here?”
Lu Yin shrugged. “Apparently I still haven’t graduated.”
Old Cai laughed heartily. “Graduated? Not in this life! There’s no way I’d ever allow you to graduate! Imagine Astral-10 having a student who never graduated, yet still managed to become the ruler of the megaverse! Can you believe it? Hahaha!”
Lu Yin chuckled. “But I’m also a named instructor for Boundless.”
Old Cai rolled his eyes. “Fair enough. So, what brings you here?”
Lu Yin might enjoy an extraordinary status, but Old Cai was only slightly more polite and formal when addressing the younger man. Old Cai was not someone who would do much more than that, as he was not the type to act formally.
Right after breaking through and becoming an Enlighter, not only had Old Cai flirted with the Daynight clan’s Nightqueen Qiuyu, but he had also used a Money Bomb to blow up the clan’s ancestral monument.
At that time, the Daynight clan had been regarded as the powerful group in the Innerverse, just like the modern Heavens Sect in the megaverse. Few had dared to provoke the clan, but even so, Old Cai had been brazen and outrageous.
Lu Yin glanced around. “You’ve got quite the collection here. Did you scam all this from people?”
“What are you saying? Scam?
I’ve been conducting busine- no, I was tradin- Actually, we’ve been cooperating,” Old Cai retorted.Lu Yin shot the old man a glance before turning his attention elsewhere. A woman had just stepped out. She was none other than Nightqueen Qiuyu.
Before Lu Yin, Nightqueen Qiuyu acted extremely respectfully and bowed while maintaining her distance. “Greetings, Lord Lu.”
Lu Yin looked at Old Cai. “So, you did bring her back here.”
Old Cai smirked smugly. “My woman can’t escape.”
Lu Yin laughed. “Congratulations. When’s your child expected?”
Old Cai could only cough awkwardly.
The Nightqueen maintained her bow.
It could be said that Lu Yin had personally destroyed the Daynight clan, and yet no one from the clan would dare reveal even a hint of a grudge towards Lu Yin.
The Second Nightking was little more than a doorman in the Heavens Sect, while the Third Nightking wandered the megaverse. The once-glorious Daynight clan had fallen into obscurity, though the Second Nightking’s presence in the Heavens Sect and Lu Yin’s friendship with Zhuo Daynight and Hui Daynight meant that no one dared to provoke the clan.
Lu Yin stood so far above them that no one in the Daynight clan would dare to harbor the slightest shred of hatred toward him.
Lu Yin chatted with Old Cai for a while before leaving.
He visited the Sand Ocean to see the Sandmaster, and then he stopped by the ruins of the Stargazing Deck. He went to the edge of the battleship and met with Big Pao and Little Pao. Lu Yin spent his time reconnecting with various old friends before finally making his way to the Rain Observatory.
At the top of a giant tree, Shao Chen opened his eyes to watch Lu Yin as the young man slowly walked over. Rising to his feet, the headmaster asked, “Are you heading to the Spirit Nidus?”
Lu Yin nodded.
“Boundless is ready.”
Lu Yin turned to look out at the endless forest that stretched into the distance. “Thank you.”
“Boundless does not belong to any specific person, but rather to the Tianyuan Megaverse’s humanity as a whole. Any who fight for our race may use it.”
Lu Yin’s purpose in visiting Astral-10 was to take Boundless.
The expedition would have to go on a long journey from the Tianyuan Megaverse to the Spirit Nidus, and Lu Yin could not ask people like the Origin Progenitor to go into a Zenith Mountain.
Just as the Spirit Nidus had used battleships when invading the Tianyuan Megaverse, Lu Yin also needed a battleship to reach the Spirit Nidus.
That battleship was Boundless.
Only Boundless was capable of withstanding the pressure of a springboard.
Boundless was a legacy that had been passed down through many generations. It carried the future of humanity in the Tianyuan Megaverse, and it would serve as the vessel for the expedition to the Spirit Nidus.
If Boundless went, then so would Shao Chen.
There were times when the mortal life could bring surprises. After all, it had forced Bao Qi to enter Dukkha.
During the past branch stream of the River of Aeons, everyone in Astral-10 had been massacred, and blood had flowed like rivers.
With the temporal reversion, Astral-10 would instead head to the Spirit Nidus. While the school’s teachers and students would stay behind, Lu Yin believed that, in the near future, Astral-10 and Boundless would see rivers of blood flow, but this time, they would belong to the enemy.
The wheels of karma turned inexorably.
Time passed swiftly, and in the blink of an eye, almost a year had passed. Just outside the stone gate, the springboard was nearly complete.
All of the teachers and students from Astral-10, apart from Shao Chen, had departed from the battleship.
Boundless started to move once again, though its first stop was Burial Garden.
While standing atop Boundless, Lu Yin faced Burial Garden and bowed. “Lu Yin humbly requests the honored seniors to board Boundless, to fight for our megaverse, and to pave the way for humanity.”
The Origin Progenitor’s hand had already been removed from Burial Garden, which meant that all that remained was an empty shell.
Countless wandering corpses continued to move above that hollow shell.
As Lu Yin spoke, the Yellow Springs roared. One by one, the wandering corpses stopped moving and turned to face Boundless.
On Boundless, beneath the trees of the Rain Observatory, Silver stared at Burial Garden with a heated expression.
He would build a second Ossis Ark. During his years in the Mirari Realm, he had effectively succeeded in his experiments. What True God had accomplished, Silver would as well.
He would transform Boundless into the second Ossis Ark.
One by one, wandering corpses stepped onto Boundless.
Shortly thereafter, Boundless arrived at the Heavens Sect. The 5,000 soldiers of the Tianyuan Army, the people who used black energy converters, and the mecha pilots all boarded the battleship, one after another. Countless eyes watched the scene. The majesty of the line they saw boarding Boundless was timeless and awe-inspiring. Never before had so many experts been gathered together, not in any era.
Even at the greatest heights of the ancient Heavens Sect, humanity had been nowhere near as powerful as now.
This was the result of consolidating the power of their entire megaverse.
What could be achieved by combining the strength of an entire megaverse? It was beyond anything that ordinary people could comprehend.
Wilderness God also arrived, intending to travel to the Spirit Nidus. This was a surprise to Lu Yin.
Regardless of Wilderness God’s resentment towards humanity, Lu Yin did not consider him to be a threat. Wilderness God was not seeking revenge; he merely desired peace for his astral beasts.
Wilderness God did not say a word as he boarded Boundless.
The Origin Progenitor was standing in the Rain Observatory, staring at the drizzle as he let out a sigh. In the end, Yellowy’s coming.
Despite nothing being said, the Origin Progenitor knew that Yellowy would not allow his master to go without someone to watch him.
The Origin Progenitor’s disciples, no matter any past grudges, were all truly remarkable.
Boundless sailed away from the Heavens Sect, heading toward the stone gate.
Bells rang throughout the Heavens Sect, and solemn music echoed out from the Immemorial Citadel.
Countless eyes watched as Boundless departed.
This was farewell; who knew if they would ever meet again?
In the Perennial World, Lu Qi took a swig of wine as he closed his eyes.
In the Cosmic Sea, Big Sis and Highsage Leon sat on the deck of their ship and stared up at the sky.
"If saying goodbye here means that we’ll never meet again, then we’ll go too."
"One generation after another will leave this Tianyuan Megaverse. No matter how powerful our enemy may be, the flames of war will never be extinguished."
Throughout the Tianyuan Megaverse, countless people gathered at the statues of Lu Yin, entirely of their own accord. These people did not know what was happening, but they could feel their Dao Monarch’s determination and readiness to face death.
You must return, you must! Come home...
Boundless passed through the stone gate and stopped on the springboard. As the construct tore through the fabric of reality, Boundless was launched forward. It vanished.
Boundless was set to arrive in the Spirit Nidus.
The stone gate closed. From the moment Boundless had disappeared, only two possible futures lay before the Tianyuan Megaverse: triumph, or total annihilation. The next time the stone gate opened, the outcome would be revealed.
Closing the stone gate this time carried a different meaning. Before, it had been sealed on the outside, and only people like Tian Ci and Yuan Qi, who were from the Spirit Nidus, had been able to open it. This time, there was no bar in place. Anyone could open the gates.
The gates had closed not to protect the megaverse from the Spirit Nidus, but rather to prevent anyone inside the Tianyuan Megaverse from using the springboard to escape.
After all, there remained hidden dangers within the Tianyuan Megaverse as well.
Beneath a sky full of stars, Forgotten Ruins God held the blood-red sword. "They’re finally gone. Judging by the time, we’ll just need to wait for a few more decades before we leave. Just a single period of seclusion, right, Xiaoyu?"
Wang Xiaoyu's expression was as calm as ever. "There's nothing left in this place that’s worth clinging to."
Woof.
In a courtyard in the Heavens Sect that was overflowing with books, Hui Can went to find Tuo Lin. "Senior Brother, let's head out."
Tuo Lin was puzzled by the comment. "Where are we going?"
"Traveling."
"Did Master give us permission to leave?"
"Master's already gone. Supposedly, he won't be returning anytime soon. We can't just waste away here."
"That doesn't seem right. We should wait for Master to return before making such a decision."
Hui Can grew anxious. "Senior Brother, Master never said that we have to stay in the Heavens Sect forever. He's gone far, far away, and he might not return for a century. No, it might even be several centuries. That's just too long."
Tuo Lin pondered. "That long? I suppose that I do need to travel."
"Then let's go. Master never said that we couldn't leave," Hui Can encouraged.
Reluctantly, Tuo Lin glanced at the books that surrounded him. He hesitated for a moment. "Wait for a bit. I need to tidy up first."
"Alright," Hui Can happily agreed.
He then watched as Tuo Lin carefully picked up each and every book. They were all categorized and methodically put into their proper place. It took ten entire days for the process as there were simply too many books. Hui Can grew increasingly anxious as he watched, but he had been forbidden from helping. According to Tuo Lin, this was a task that required a devout heart. He even made Hui Can touch his own chest and reiterate the words "devout," which had rendered Hui Can speechless before he stepped aside.
