Chapter 3700: Tacit Understanding

Chapter 3700: Tacit Understanding

Lu Yin, Old Chief, and the rest of the conscients were all pushed aside.

This was a clash between the most powerful individuals in the three megaverses, and all of their sequence particles were directly colliding.

Only at this moment was Lu Yin finally witnessing True God’s genuine power. If not for the fact that the Great Sovereign had sacrificed herself to trap Yong Heng within her Six Paths of Reincarnation Realm, the Heavens Sect would have never survived long enough in the Tianyuan Megaverse to have any say.

Lu Yin had no idea what Yong Heng had been waiting for. It was clear that he could have united the Tianyuan Megaverse much earlier, as not even the Great Sovereign would have been his match. Despite that, the Great Sovereign had ended up out-calculating Yong Heng, forcing him to flee to the Spirit Nidus.

Two terrifying streams of sequence particles collided like a storm. Both the High Seraph and Yong Heng slowly moved towards the other, each step they took shaking the cliff.

“You and I were originally allies,” the High Seraph stated.

Yong Heng met the man’s gaze. “So what?”

“I can take you up the cliff, provided that the others are all eliminated,” the High Seraph continued.

Yong Heng raised an eyebrow as he smiled, and his gaze shifted over to Lu Yin, clearly amused. “This is certainly quite tempting.”

Old Chief and the other Luminaries instinctively retreated. If this man joined hands with the High Seraph, there was no doubt that all of the conscients here would quickly die. Retreating was certainly the better option.

Lu Yin stared at Yong Heng. “Do you trust him?”

Yong Heng laughed. “More than I trust you.”

“Aren’t you afraid that he might change his mind?”

Yong Heng glanced back at the High Seraph. “That doesn’t matter.”

Lu Yin’s eyes narrowed. As he had thought, Yong Heng alone was the High Seraph’s match. While the High Seraph’s power was incredible, was the same not true of Yong Heng? He had spent so many years in the Tianyuan Megaverse, constantly searching for mirebound artifacts. There was no doubt in Lu Yin’s mind that True God had to have something still hidden. He had been hiding in the Spirit Nidus, so the fact that he had chosen this moment to reveal himself was proof that he was confident that he could face the High Seraph.

The High Seraph felt a genuine threat from Yong Heng, but he also had no other recourse. Since this person had appeared, there was no avoiding him.

As for killing Lu Yin, that would not be easy. Despite Yong Heng’s agreeable response, he would not actually attack Lu Yin. On top of that, unless the High Seraph was mistaken, Lu Yin was in possession of Yi Shang’s mirebound artifact.

Given the opportunity, Yong Heng certainly would not mind killing Lu Yin, and Lu Yin felt the same about Yong Heng.

As the clashing sequence particles between the High Seraph and Yong Heng started to wane, Lu Yin flexed his fingers. “It looks like I’m being underestimated. In that case, let’s see if you can kill me.”

With that, he released his inner universe, and the instant he did so, a terrifying number of sequence particles erupted as a third contributor to the monstrous storm beneath the cliff. The turbulent clash stretched high into the sky.

The High Seraph was taken aback. What was this? He had never seen Lu Yin use laws of the universe before.

Yong Heng also frowned as he stared at Lu Yin’s overwhelming sequence particles. Where did these come from? Isn’t he just a Progenitor? It’s already absurd for a mere Progenitor to be strong enough to rival a peak Dukkhan. How could he have kept more hidden?

Old Chief and the others knew nothing about Lu Yin’s true cultivation level, but seeing him release such a terrifying number of sequence particles caused them to instinctively back away yet again. No matter where they looked, they seemed to be the weaker party.

From the top of the cliff, the two groups watched on in shock. Even in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, such a terrifying amount of sequence particles was rare. This was a level of power that belonged to the Lesser Sancti. How were there so many experts in the Spirit Nidus?

These were the sequence particles that Lu Yin had obtained from the Rivers and Mountains Painting and the Impression Realm. After so many years, he had fully broken down both sequence bases.

The Rivers and Mountains Painting had been created from the sequence particles of seventy-seven Spirit Nidus experts who had cultivated the Near and Far Sequence Technique. The Impression Realm had been formed from the sequence particles of no fewer than 359 sequence powerhouses that had all cultivated the Impression Sequence Technique.

While neither of the sequence techniques were particularly powerful—in fact, they were practically useless against someone like the High Seraph—they still contributed a vast number of sequence particles.

With the sequence particles of more than 400 sequence powerhouses, Lu Yin feared no one when it came to quantity.

He had held back from using the sequence particles for so long because he had feared exposing the fact that he could break down sequence bases for his own use. However, there was no longer any need to hide that.

As Lu Yin thought of this, his eyes flared, and he fully released all of his sequence particles. As he did so, a storm raged into the sky as it swept out, targeting both the High Seraph and Yong Heng. When it came to pure quantity, Lu Yin surpassed both men, which left them rather stunned.

They could not make any sense of what they were seeing. Even if Lu Yin had lived for as long as either of them, it still would have been impossible for him to have cultivated such a vast number of sequence particles. However, he was exceptionally young.

Something was not right.

The High Seraph stared at the raging storm. Near and Far? Impression? There appears to be two streams of sequence particles, so how have they merged together? These should not be the sequence particles of a single person. How long has he been in contact with the Spirit Nidus? Even if he was already a Sequence Progenitor, it would be impossible for him to cultivate both laws of the universe simultaneously.

Something’s very wrong.

Lu Yin did not have time to allow the High Seraph to continue thinking about things. He shouted fiercely at Old Chief and the other Luminaries, “We’re from the Tianyuan Megaverse! You sent Xi to our megaverse to convince us to join forces with you against the Spirit Nidus. We’re finally here, so why haven’t you stepped forward to attack the High Seraph yet?”

Old Chief was badly shocked. “Are you really from the Tianyuan Megaverse?”

He had no idea who Xi was, but since this young man was from the Tianyuan Megaverse, he could naturally be regarded as an ally.

“Attack!” Lu Yin urged. He moved forward with Inverse Step, aiming at Yong Heng.

Old Chief and the other conscients stopped hesitating. They trusted Lu Yin’s words. After all, someone as powerful as the High Seraph had suddenly appeared. Everything about the current situation felt wrong, but it was true that this man was indeed the High Seraph’s enemy.

Besides, the High Seraph’s death was precisely their primary goal, despite the extreme difficulty.

Lu Yin did not expect the conscients to be able to kill the High Seraph, but given the combined strength of Old Chief and the other Luminaries, they could at least keep the High Seraph occupied and prevent him from climbing up the cliff.

Yong Heng glanced sideways at Old Chief and the other Luminaries. Then, Lu Yin appeared right before his eyes.

“Do you want to kill me?” Yong Heng asked as he watched Lu Yin attack. The older man easily dodged the blow. Moving at the speed of time was pointless against True God.

Lu Yin’s palm strike failed to hit anything, but he followed up with a Setting Sun—another comprehension technique. However, before he could fully unleash the Setting Sun, it was destroyed by a single sword swing. Yong Heng was holding a long sword in a hand, leaving afterimages of the blade as he swung it about. Each afterimage represented a temporal choice, and every time an image shattered, the position or timing of Yong Heng’s movements could be rechosen.

Lu Yin suddenly vanished, and Yong Heng’s sword images converged, all shattering at the same time. Even so, he failed to locate Lu Yin.

True God was astonished. Had Lu Yin actually managed to dodge all of his attacks?

Suddenly, True God moved away from where he had been standing. As he moved, a spiral of karma shot through the area. Lu Yin frowned. Another spiral of karma twined about his fingers before shooting at Yong Heng.

Yong Heng had always been a complete mystery, so Lu Yin wanted to use karma to learn about True God’s real motives.

The man always seemed able to find a way out.

Even after Aeternus was destroyed in the Tianyuan Megaverse and Yong Heng was trapped within the Six Paths of Reincarnation Realm, he had still succeeded in restarting his cultivation with a mirebound artifact spirit seed taken from Tian Ci. Yong Heng had returned to the peak in an incredibly short time. All along, he had known the truth about the Spirit Nidus. Just what was True God working towards?

Yong Heng continued to evade the spirals of karma while staring intently at Lu Yin. "The power of karma can lead to the Immortal realm. You truly are the greatest threat. Killing you is well justified."

As he spoke, his eyes turned blood-red, and his divine energy appeared. One red lantern after another appeared in the sky.

True God’s Natural Art.

At the same time, Lu Yin also released divine energy and produced his own red lanterns that hung in the sky. He was also capable of using Yong Heng’s Natural Art.

The man lamented that fact. "How sad it is that someone like you has actually cultivated my power and led to your success."

Lu Yin complimented the other man, "True God's three ultimate techniques are each completely peerless. I want to learn all of them."

"Then behold True God's Dominion!"

Behind Lu Yin, a sword blade rose up: Heaven's Blade.

True God had once trapped Lu Yin in a Scourge with his Dominion. Escaping had drawn the Nests to the Tianyuan Megaverse, introducing new and powerful enemies. This time, even without relying on any external power, Lu Yin managed to shatter Dominion with a single thrust of Heaven’s Blade.

Dominion immediately reappeared, and then it suddenly shrank down in an attempt to trap Lu Yin again.

Lu Yin pointed a finger forward, shouting, "Dao of One Heavens! Break!"

Bang!

A streak of black light shot at the cliff. This was the remaining terrifying power of Lu Yin’s finger attack after shattering Dominion.

"Return of the Myriad Swords!" In front of Lu Yin, Yong Heng swung his sword downwards.

Lu Yin allowed a sword to stab him, but Lightstream flickered, reversing time by one second. As that happened, Lu Yin unleashed Heaven's Blade again, slashing at Yong Heng's head.

The man quickly pulled back. He was not only being attacked by Heaven's Blade, but also by a punch from Lu Yin’s withered arm. That arm was also covered with terrifying Wielder - God battle force.

Yong Heng suddenly smirked. The Heaven's Blade that was headed his way suddenly veered off and turned around to attack Lu Yin himself.

This scene was remarkably similar to what had happened when the High Seraph’s Everlasting Will had been redirected.

Lu Yin was forced to retreat from his own attack, and as he fell back, another Heaven’s Blade shot out of his Nine Heavens to counter the returned attack.

A pair of slitted, scarlet eyes appeared right in front of him as a palm fell down. Lu Yin retaliated with his own palm strike.

Bang!

Everyone standing beneath the cliff swayed yet again as the two attacks clashed and resulted in a powerful shockwave.

Old Chief was working with the rest of the conscients to attack the High Seraph, yet they were almost caught in the crossfire of the battle between Yong Heng and Lu Yin.

The High Seraph glanced over at the other battle. The two men appeared to be rather evenly matched.

Lu Yin was not surprised by the outcome. Yong Heng's physical strength had long surpassed Lu Yin’s. After all, it was with his terrifying physical strength that Yong Heng had once uprooted the black Mother Tree from the Scourge. Additionally, all corpse kings naturally possessed absurd physical strength.

The fact that Lu Yin was able to match Yong Heng's strength was only possible because of his breakthrough to Wielder - God battle force and the boost that he received from the Nine Heavens Transformation.

Both men retreated at the same time, only to shoot forward once more.

The bottom of the cliff was split into two battlefields. When it came to consciousness, physical strength, and even battle techniques, everything that was employed in the two battles was unparalleled. The audience atop the cliff was left dazed.

No matter how much contempt they held for the other three megaverses, no one had a single word of criticism to speak at this moment.

The battles down below were so intense that, even in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, only the Lesser Sancti would be qualified to intervene, and the Lesser Sancti already stood at the peak of their megaverse.

At this moment, the greatest fear of both the man and woman leading the two groups was the possibility of the people down below reaching the top of the cliff. If the High Seraph possessed that ability, there would be no guaranteeing their safety.

What should they do? Retreat, or not?

The two exchanged glances and saw the wariness in each other’s eyes.

Suddenly, the battles down below shifted; both Lu Yin and Yong Heng simultaneously attacked the High Seraph. All of the red lanterns that surrounded the two men with names written on them suddenly changed—to Mo Shang.

That was the High Seraph’s name.

The sky and the ground were both shrouded by two layers of True God's Dominion.

The High Seraph had not anticipated this sudden change. He pushed Everstone forward in an attempt to break free with the sequence base, but while he managed to shatter the first layer of Dominion, he could not break free of the second. That second layer had been put in place by Yong Heng.

Earlier, when Yong Heng and Lu Yin fought and Dominion had been used twice, that had not been a genuine attempt to trap Lu Yin, but rather a lesson given. True God had shown Lu Yin that only by stacking two layers of Dominion could they restrain someone like the High Seraph.

Lu Yin and Yong Heng were still cooperating, just like back in the Spirit Nidus.

All along, Yong Heng had never intended to work with the High Seraph to kill Lu Yin. It was not because it was impossible, but rather because Yong Heng did not want to.

Rather than the scheming that the High Seraph employed and his hidden motives, Yong Heng preferred working with Lu Yin. They could scheme together and also act together. Also, Yong Heng was confident that Lu Yin was not yet his match, and even more importantly, Yong Heng understood Lu Yin’s priorities.
