Greater Sancte Awe Gate slowly said, “The Death Megaverse brings death to other civilizations. When we first became aware of them, we knew that our Nine Odysseys Megaverse was facing a terrible calamity. If we couldn’t avoid it, we would have to fight to the death. “Could you have won?” Lu Yin asked.

Greater Sancte Awe Gate chuckled. “Win? You’re overthinking it. At that time, our plan was to sacrifice the Tianyuan Megaverse.”

Lu Yin's eyes glinted.

“When a civilization encounters an impossible catastrophe, it can only try to find a way to continue on. I believe that you’ve faced situations in the Tianyuan Megaverse where you were forced to ensure the continuation of a certain faction or family. Expand that concept to encompass the entire human race. That was what we were dealing with.

“Even Blood Tower, the battle-crazed maniac, had no thoughts of fighting back. Our only option was to sacrifice the Tianyuan Megaverse, which lies farthest away from us. That was all.”

At this point, Greater Sancte Awe Gate looked back at Lu Yin. “Compared to the Spirit Nidus, your Tianyuan has been quite lucky. Lu Yin remembered how Gu Duanke had mentioned that no one in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse was allowed to keep Immortal matter aside from the Immortal Greater Sancti. Not even the Lesser Sancti were an exception to that rule. When hearing that, Lu Yin had wondered if the three Greater Sancti were being too kind to him, as it felt like they were treating someone from the Tianyuan Megaverse as their own child.

Even at that time, he knew that the Immortals looked at humanity as a whole, rather than focusing solely on the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. It was only at this moment that he realized that his understanding of the Greater Sancti had still been too shallow. After a time, she said, “Yong Heng is a very special existence. He has betrayed humanity, the Netherfiends, and even Silent Death.”

Lu Yin had already known that Yong Heng had betrayed both humanity and the Netherfiends, but he had not known that the man was also connected to Silent Death.

“What’s his story?”

“Yong Heng is a mystery. He’s lived for a very long time. You can consider him human, but he’s different from other humans. You could also say that he’s not human, but at a glance, it’s impossible to see any differences. He first betrayed humanity, and then the Netherfiends before disappearing for a while. Lu Yin’s eyes narrowed. Another Immortal?

Greater Sancte Awe Gate's expression turned nostalgic. “However, she was not from our Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Rather, she wasn’t even human at all, as she was a conglomeration of all emotions in existence. At first, Greater Sancte Green Lotus didn’t know this about her. While her arrival made the Greater Sancti of that time cautious, a battle between Immortals is no small matter. They did not immediately eliminate her, which led to disaster.

“Qi Xu spread her emotions across our megaverse, amplifying countless people's greed and desires, which led to mass slaughter. By the time the Greater Sancti realized what was happening, at least one-fifth of all the cultivators in this megaverse had been mired in hatred. Left with no choice, Green Lotus and the others repeatedly fought against her.

“Qi Xu was powerful, but against the combined assault of three Immortals, she was continuously forced to retreat, suffering injuries before eventually fleeing. Even so, she never left the Nine Odysseys Megaverse; she merely went into hiding. From that point on, the Netherfiends started to appear, which led to a prolonged hunt. “She died during the final battle, alongside Greater Sancte Mi Jin. When that happened, it wasn’t because the other two refused to help Mi Jin, but rather that they couldn't. Only Mi Jin was able to capture Qi Xu.”

Lu Yin understood. It was no wonder why Qing Xing had said that two had retreated, leaving one to fight to the death.

He did not doubt Greater Sancte Awe Gate’s words, as the Immortal Greater Sancti would not stoop so low as to tell lies.

Still, there was something that he could not understand. “If the three Greater Sancti had already gravely wounded Qi Xu, why did Mi Jin still have to die with her?”

Greater Sancte Awe Gate showed a bitter smile. “Do you think that it would be easy to kill an Immortal? Especially back then...” She paused briefly before continuing to say, “It’s extremely difficult to truly kill an Immortal. Even now, Qi Xu isn’t actually dead.”

Lu Yin was shocked. “Didn’t you say that the two perished together?”

“They did perish together, but Qi Xu’s power remains in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse.”

Lu Yin stared at Greater Sancte Awe Gate in a daze for a moment. Suddenly, a connection appeared in his mind. “The Seven Fairies?”

Greater Sancte Awe Gate nodded as she turned to meet Lu Yin’s gaze. “Qi Xu and Mi Jin perished together, but before that happened, Green Lotus split Qi Xu’s emotional power into seven different aspects that he hid in his Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm. Over time, those emotions started to dissipate, and they were eventually noticed. That’s why he had no choice but to extract those seven aspects of emotional power and merge them into the bodies of seven girls, who are currently known as the Seven Fairies.

“That is why each of the Seven Fairies bear specifically flawed personalities. They carry this burden for our megaverse-”

“Wait.” Lu Yin interrupted Greater Sancte Awe Gate, completely forgetting all sense of propriety. He simply had too many unanswered questions. “Does that mean that all Seven Fairies are actually from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse? Also, who noticed? You already know more than anyone other than the Nine Odysseys Megaverse’s Immortals, which is more than even the Great Master. Be content.

“As for the Seven Fairies, it’s true that one of them isn’t a native of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Back then, one emotional aspect went out of control and managed to escape our megaverse. Lu Yin was left speechless. “The Nine Odysseys Megaverse has far too much bait in it.”

Greater Sancte Awe Gate also felt helpless. “There’s nothing that we can do about that. The more you interact with the omniverse, the more bait you end up attracting. Anything that returns here could potentially doom us, bringing a complete catastrophe. So, do you still want your Tianyuan to merge with the Nine Odysseys Megaverse?”

Truthfully, Lu Yin hesitated. He felt that the Nine Odysseys Megaverse was in even greater danger than his own megaverse.

He had faced many crises in the Tianyuan Megaverse, but he had at least known who his enemies were. In the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, he lacked even that.

The Aevum Inch could be seen as a vast lake where nothing could be reeled in without potentially costing the fisherman his life.

The silent, suffocating weight pressing on his chest left Lu Yin feeling extremely uncomfortable.
