Chapter 621 Kim Chon-jae’s Domain
Chapter 621 Kim Chon-jae’s Domain
A violent clash followed as the two armies collided. The mountain trembled causing the nearby trees to sway vigorously.
The humanoid monsters fearlessly pounced at the warriors. Using their mouths and claws, they tore through the flesh of the soldiers.
The vanguard of the allied army took a serious blow at the initial clash. They were ripped into shreds by the crazed humanoid monsters.
“Defend yourselves! Bring up the shields!” The military officers shouted to the troops to maintain morale.
“Kill the heretic followers! Kill them all!”
A bloody slaughter quickly followed as the soldiers launched a counterattack under the leadership of the military officers.
The precise maneuvers and brilliant tactics of the Allied army proved effective in turning the tide of the battle.
While the soldiers and humanoid monsters were slaughtering each other, the Venerables had also engaged in battle.
There were only two Venerables on the heretic cult’s side. The cult leader had to face five opponents at once, and the old priest fought two.
We are supposed to be at an advantage with our numbers, but this guy is just so ridiculously strong!
Alaric thought to himself as he looked at the cult leader who was casually pushing back five Venerables.
Kim Chon-jae was only using a short sword. His swordsmanship might not be as impressive as Alaric’s, but his attacks were fiercer and more destructive.
Each slash of his sword created a deep ravine in the ground.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
At this moment, the empress could no longer hide her shock.
Kim Chon-jae wasn’t as powerful as her during their last duel, but the man before her was vastly superior. He had become more dangerous.
“Use your domains! We must kill him now!” She roared to the Venerables.
Hearing her orders, the four Venerables who were targeting the cult leader quickly activated their domains.
Alaric also used his ice domain and summoned hundreds of ice warriors to attack the cult leader.
The others also launched a barrage of powerful attacks against Kim Chon-jae.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Looking at their incoming attacks, Kim Chon-jae snorted. He unfurled his wings and evaded with lightning speed. He moved like a mirage, dodging everything without breaking a sweat.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
A devastating sonic boom erupted as the combined power of the Venerables struck the land.
BOOOM!!!
The mountain shook and fissures appeared on the ground.
The empress, Alaric, Ludwig, Bai Seol-hwa, and Lucas stared at the epicenter of the storm with grim eyes. They used all in those attacks, but they didn’t feel like they hit their enemy.
When the dust cleared, they saw Kim Chon-jae completely uninjured. He stood motionless in the middle of a sunken hole staring at them with indifference.
“How is that possible?” Ludwig couldn’t believe it. They had unleashed their domains and executed their most powerful attacks, but the opponent was still unharmed.
Lucas was also startled. He used up a third of his mana to release a killer sword strike against the cult leader, but it seemed that his attack didn’t land on the target.
“Be careful. He has already used his domain!” The empress warned in a grave tone.
Alaric looked at the empress. “What’s up with his domain? I don’t feel anything.”
He found nothing unusual when he observed the surroundings. Other than their domains, he didn’t sense anything out of the ordinary.
The empress furrowed her eyebrows and pointed her sword at Kim Chon-jae as she muttered. “Look at his eyes. Do you sense the unnatural fluctuations of mana?”
Alaric followed her gaze. When he looked at the cult leader’s eyes, he sensed a peculiar fluctuation of mana. It was unlike any other power he had seen. It was almost unnoticeable, but if one were to look closely, they would see that Kim Chon-jae’s eyes had become different.
The scleras of his eyes had turned black like the endless void in the darkness. His irises were flickering with red light as if two globes of flames had risen.
What is that?
As if to answer his doubt, the empress spoke in a gloomy voice. “That’s his domain… The Eye of Eternal Darkness.”
“He could see five seconds into the future while activating that unusual power.” The empress added.
“What?!” Alaric and Lucas were stunned. They found it hard to believe that such a power to exist.
The empress took a deep breath and added. “That’s just one of his domains. He still has one more…”
“Are you done talking?” A calm voice drifted into their ears, startling them.
The empress and the others immediately went into battle stance as soon as they heard Kim Chon-jae speak.
Looking at their guarded faces, Kim Chon-jae’s lips curved upwards. He stomped his feet and jumped out of the hole with a single leap.
He landed in front of the five and stared at them with serene eyes. “If you want to defeat me, you’d best give it your all. Otherwise, all of you might end up dead in my next attack.”
His words fell into their ears like the grim reaper’s voice.
Kim Chon-jae’s eyes flashed. He detected another powerful aura from his eyes.
“So you were hiding something… Interesting.” He spoke as he looked in a specific direction.
Hidden amongst the soldiers was a blue-haired woman. She stood out like a sore thumb with her striking looks.
“How strange… I sense the aura of a beast from you…” Kim Chon-jae narrowed his eyes into slits.
With his powerful perception, he quickly noticed the beastly aura within Nivis’s body.
“For a halfling, your perception is quite impressive.” Nivis no longer hid herself after she had been discovered.
She released her aura.
The aura of the Catastrophe-grade beast gushed out like a torrent. It was overwhelming.
Everyone was stunned when they felt her aura. Even Lucas was startled.
She had thought that Nivis was just one of his son’s talented subordinates. He never thought that she was someone more special.
Kim Chon-jae’s eyes twitched when he heard the word ‘halfling’ coming from Nivis’s mouth. He chuckled and responded. “A beast capable of human transformation. You would be a great companion…”
