Chapter 1020: Iskar's Familiars
Chapter 1020: Iskar’s Familiars
“Do you think you have what it takes to challenge me? I should have killed you at that time.” Iskar gritted his teeth.
“Kill me? If you were already an arcane level summoner at that time, you would probably do such a thing. But because you hadn’t reached that level, you were thinking I had someone protecting me from the shadow. That’s why you didn’t dare.
“Don’t say such bullshit as if you were giving me mercy.” Nathan raised his middle finger.
“You!” Iskar raised his hand, summoning all six familiars.
Nathan leaped onto the surface and summoned all his familiars as well.
‘Hmm…’ Nathan understood the difference in their strength. That was why he had prepared something for this. He activated the first soul contract, using a bit of ena to see some information about the opponents before him. He got their name, level, and even their race, which was the basic information of the system.
‘A demon lord, huh? There is also that flying insect. The blue-skinned one is an ancient troll, while the green-skinned one is an orc shaman king. That shadow is a specter. Last but not least, the arachnid queen.
‘The only way for me to defeat him is by using the elemental advantage due to the gap between us. Even if he has impurity, he is still far stronger than me.
‘In that case…’ Nathan shouted, “Fenrir. Took care of the demon lord. Nidhogg, you will take care of that insect. It’s not even the Lord of the Flies, so defeat it. Jinwu, you get that specter.
“Mae, you will be in charge of the ancient troll, while you take care of the arachnid, Kun. Orochi, you will go for the orc.”
“Anubis will make sure his power doesn’t work on us, while Qilin will maintain the balance.” Nathan waved his hand.
“A demon lord, huh? By the way, I heard them talking about that technique called Demonic Blood Absorption Divine Technique from here.” Fenrir smirked. “It looked like they really came from the Divine Blood Cult.
“They absorbed the blood of others, including the ena inside their blood, which is the reason for their strength. I’m afraid they have killed hundreds, if not thousands, of people just to get stronger. They disgust me.” Fenrir narrowed his eyes.
“I understand.” Nathan nodded. “Our original objective remains unchanged. Kill them. Spare no one.”
“Oh!” Fenrir leaped toward his target.
“Since all of you want to die… Kill them!” Iskar shouted while waving his hand.
Fenrir jumped into the air and pounced on the demon lord.
The demon lord released his powerful energy that caused the ground to shake. He pointed his palms toward Fenrir. “A mere dog dares to challenge me… Perish!”
A powerful black beam flew toward Fenrir. The latter actually slapped the beam and deflected it to the ground with his paw.
“What?!” The demon lord was startled, originally thinking that Fenrir would be blasted by his power, not the other way around. At the same time, he had never seen his power being deflected like this.
“You have made the gravest mistake in your life. I can tolerate them because they’re equal, but you… how dare a mere demon mistake me for a dog! I’m a wolf!” Fenrir roared and slapped the demon lord, launching him tens of meters away. His body became bigger as the killing intent spread to the entire battlefield. He let out a howl as if the king had returned to hunt.
The insect was the fly with a humanoid body. It had red eyes, a thin body similar to that of a grasshopper, two pairs of wings, and an elongated body.
The fly waved his wings toward Nidhogg. It looked like he was using the wind to hit him, but this wind wasn’t powerful enough to do it.
Nidhogg realized almost instantly what was hidden inside this gale. He gathered his breath and released it to burn this wing.
The wind and the parasites carried by the wind disintegrated.
“Insect.” Nidhogg snorted. “Even if your species is my race’s snack, I don’t even have any appetite looking at you.”
“…” The humanoid fly remained silent because she realized how terrifying Nidhogg was against her power.
The specter, on the other hand, was known as the Shadow King. It submerged to the ground in the form of a shadow. This shadow was extended up as if trying to cover Jinwu.
However, Jinwu let out a cry as a huge fireball appeared above him, illuminating everything and burning the shadow.
“The sun…” The specter muttered inside the shadow.
Jinwu harrumphed as if telling him, ‘Nothing can cover the sun itself.’
Meanwhile, Kun was facing a huge spider. This spider had a similar size to the current Orochi, which was big enough to face Kun.
Kun tried to use his huge body to crush the arachne, but the latter actually spurted out webs toward his body, creating a dome that was powerful enough to stop Kun’s momentum.
“!!!” Kun was quite surprised. The moment he noticed the arachne was going to attack him, Kun used his water ability to slip away from the sticky web before turning into Peng.
Unlike the others, he had the hardest opponent because of the nature of their abilities.
Mae waved her bamboo fan as the ancient troll kicked it up before spinning his body to launch her away. Mae managed to slip away at the last moment, but she didn’t have enough time to actually cast her illusion.
In addition, the troll hit the small drums on his waist, creating a sound that caused Mae to clutch her head as excruciating pain distracted her from her thoughts.
Mae clicked her tongue, but her eyes were glowing pink, as if telling her opponent it wouldn’t be that easy to prevent her from using her ability.
Last but not least, Orochi was fighting against the Orc Shaman.
The Orc Shaman lifted up his fingers as white glowing chains emerged from the ground, restraining Orochi’s heads.
Unfortunately for the shaman, Orochi simply broke it apart with pure brute force. All eight heads stretched forward, trying to swallow the shaman.
The latter skillfully skipped on top of one head after another to avoid them before the shaman made a hand gesture that looked like a horizontal line.
“Arrgghhhh!” Orochi suddenly shouted in pain, as if his soul was being split in two. Yet, despite that pain, Orochi smacked the orc with one of his heads, launching him far away. “You can injure me? Not bad. I guess your ability is a bit more unique than that hideous guy’s.”
