“Mhmm? What?” Nathan asked. He thought he heard Evelyn saying something.

Evelyn bit her lip before raising her head. “I said, ’This is not fair.’ If you keep doing this for me, I…”

Nathan paused for a moment before smiling. “So, that’s how it is. I guess you have gotten accustomed to the excessive things that people have done for you, especially from your admirers.”

Evelyn turned her head down again.

“It looks like you are misunderstanding something.” Nathan raised his finger playfully. “I didn’t do this to capture your heart, you know that? I did it because you are already my family.”

“You…”

“Getting ahead of myself?” Nathan suddenly sobbed as if he had been wronged. “I thought you had told me that… and that the only thing in our way is the Death Society. Was all that just empty words…?”

Evelyn’s lips trembled. It looked like she wanted to say something, but she couldn’t deny it either.

Her heart had been moved ever since he had negotiated with Roggoth to save her life. He even showed her the path to the future.

Before that, she had always believed she was the pioneer, chasing after the shadow of Elysion Aquamoon. She had to keep going to meet the expectations of the people around her. It was a lonely path.

“This is a birthday present. You’re not taking advantage of me.”

Evelyn didn’t say anything, but it was clear she didn’t buy it.

So, Nathan added, “How about this? Since this is a birthday present, you should give me a present as well?”

Evelyn looked around before shifting her gaze down as if she were staring at her own body. She fell silent for a moment. “What kind of birthday present do you want?”

Even though she didn’t say it, Nathan couldn’t help but smile wryly when she was considering it.

So as not to embarrass himself, he immediately answered that question. “How about teaching me your space element? Once you are able to fuse your two elements, the direction of your element development will be different than just a single space element can do. So, it won’t matter much if you teach me about your space element, right?”

Evelyn was surprised by the request. This was life research, so it was priceless to someone. But Nathan had sacrificed something even more priceless.

Nathan just smiled. She was indeed caring. She threw away all her feelings after knowing he might be in danger.

“Are you going to teach me the space element then? Don’t worry. My life is not in danger because I created the two element cores strategically.”

He formed a Space-Time Lock on top of his palm to prove his point. “See? I can use both elements just fine.”

“This…” Evelyn was completely speechless.

Nathan rose from the bed and summoned Xolotl. “This is my new familiar, Xolotl. He will be the one helping you harmonize your elements. And that medicine will help you.”
