Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1339: Black Cell

Chapter 1339: Black Cell

“!!!” Nathan’s body shook. This was one of the possibilities he had reached when he heard about the Godfather’s innate ability from the emperor.

But this time, Luna confirmed it directly, leaving no doubt in his heart.

“Please elaborate.”

“There’s not much to elaborate on. In fact, I don’t know much either.” Luna shook her head. “When I was confronting my brother, I heard this information.

“That man was chosen by the black cell. He could hear the black cell and got possessed by it while still maintaining his consciousness.

“Thanks to it, the black cell gained a valuable pawn it could use to eradicate the humans in this world.

“Since you came from another continent, you might not know about this. The Death Society used to be different in the past.

“It was true that they were a secret organization that tried to control the government from the shadows.

“However, it all changed because of that man. He collaborated with the black cell and showed a strength no one had seen before.

“He took in people who had nothing to lose and brainwashed them. He conducted human experiments and attached the black cell to the human body.

“The black cell granted them strength, which was reflected in that black weapon the most. It also reinforced their regeneration as well as their physical abilities, such as strength, toughness, and so on.

“Out of 785 people who had received it, only 30 were still alive. They called themselves the chosen ones.

“Even though they were elites, they still didn’t have enough numbers to confront the dynasty and the empire, which resulted in the Great Purge.

“However, the black cell might help them, but it also corroded their minds. Unlike that person, the subordinates didn’t have the ability to hear the black cell.

“This was the result of the experiment. And 15 people were still alive, including that person.”

Nathan crossed his arms, falling into a deep thought. This was the first time he had heard this kind of information.

It looked like the black cell was also forming its own group of chosen ones. And the aliens would also come with their chosen ones.

“So, the Summoners War you mentioned earlier is the battle between the chosen ones picked by each side?”

Luna nodded. “Sadly so.”

“It’s indeed sad.” Nathan sighed. He knew he was not strong enough to stop being a pawn of someone. Currently, he has no choice but to follow the plan the aliens made.

Luna raised one finger. “From my own understanding, as long as we can kill that person, the black cell won’t be able to control the rest of the members.

“This also means my brother will be freed from his control. Alone, I might be able to defeat a couple of members, but I won’t be able to succeed in freeing my brother.

“So, if you are going to help me, I will belong to you.”

Nathan didn’t know what to say. On the one hand, killing the Godfather would probably be the simplest method. But the Godfather should be even stronger than Frequency.

There was no way he could make an impact in battle. He might have to leave it to Luna, but he didn’t know whether she could win or not. The power of this Godfather was still unknown.

“There is something I want to know. If the black cell wants to eradicate the humans in this world, shouldn’t it just kill us? As much as I don’t want to admit this, humans are too weak. If one of those gods just comes to this place, no humans can stand up to them.”

“Actually, Uncle Crotto said something to me about this in the past.” Luna closed her eyes. “He mentioned something like… This black cell is a parasite. To take over the body, it needs time.

“This is why the aliens in this world mostly consist of proto-class aliens.

“The higher the rank of the aliens, the higher their intelligence. Taking control over high-level aliens is hard.

“Have you ever wondered why the aliens are staying in the alien territory and only come to the human territory once in a while?”

“Hmm?” Nathan certainly didn’t expect this question. “I don’t know.”

“That is because the black cell hasn’t taken over the alien’s body completely. You can say that the last bit of consciousness the alien has is used to stop themselves.

“That’s why if you don’t enter the alien territory, they won’t come at you directly. When they are controlled…” Luna raised one finger. “They will come and create an outbreak.”

“Ah!” Nathan gasped. Now that he thought about it, it made sense.

The singularity fought in a random manner. If it were a human, it would gather its armies and march strategically, but seeing how there were random outbreaks, Luna’s explanation made sense.

Five hundred years ago when the aliens descended to this world, the aliens that came were mostly proto-class and juvenile class aliens. Then, a mature class soon started to appear and destroyed the Asura Palace.

The elite class came much later. This might be the explanation of why there was a ruin that sealed the alien at the bottom of the sea on the Gratzel Continent.

The humans hadn’t reached the level to kill the alien in the past, so they had no choice but to seal it first.

“I see.” Nathan finally understood what Chronos had said to the original Nathan.

Yog-Sothoth hadn’t fully been controlled. When he created a portal, the black cell might forcefully take over his body, or he might think it was not important enough to do it, or the humans might be their key to defeating the black cell.

For whatever reason, Yog-Sothoth still retained a part of its consciousness.

And it might be the same for Azathoth or any other Outer Gods that had been taken over by the black cell.

As long as there was still a consciousness that still fought the black cell, there was indeed a chance they could win this far.

Nathan remembered the one thousand elite class aliens.

He couldn’t help but mutter inwardly, ’Wait a minute. Those 1,000 aliens… Are they the high-level aliens that have been fully controlled? In other words, the black cell might get a certain batch of elite class aliens at one point, so this means that thing will appear sooner or later.

’And I have to prepare for it…’
