Chapter 2121 New Slav—Subordinates.
“Still nothing, huh…”
Nux muttered with a somewhat disappointed sigh as he stared at two unconscious beings hovering in front of him.
They were Neremoth and Zarveth.
Both of them were unconscious because Nux willed it so. Right now, Nux was reading their memories to figure something out.
From his sigh, however, it was clear that things didn’t go his way.
It all began after he defeated Neremoth and devoured him. He had already spent 30 minutes fighting him, so he thought he might as well read his memories while he was at it.
He had checked that Sharnoth and his wives were getting along well. Yes, those women were teasing Sharnoth to the point the poor woman had no choice but to cover her face with her hands, constantly muttering, “That’s not me,” but honestly, Nux was already used to this sight by now.
Those women were bona fide bullies. They bullied every single woman they met. What’s worse?
When that woman joined their group, she became an active bully as well.
Sometimes, Nux actually wondered whose influence made things turn out this way, but soon, he intelligently stopped wondering about it.
There was no point in monitoring a woman’s mind—even if he had all the information in the Universe, he knew he still would not understand it.
In the end, he just shook his head and sighed. Yes, Sharnoth was being bullied, but this also meant that she was accepted by the others. Nux could already see her getting along with the rest of his wives, and the thought made him smile.
For now, however, he focused on what was in front of him. He closed his eyes and started reading Neremoth’s memories.
Now that he had no one to save or a Universe to complete, his mind was free, so the entire process only took a minute. But after that long minute, Nux’s face turned solemn as he noticed something.
Neremoth…
In all his life, he had never met Darkness Infinity even once.
Which was quite surprising if one thought about it. Neremoth was one of the strongest beings in the Supreme World of Darkness—an Eternal. The number of beings he was actually wary of, other than the Infinities, could be counted on one hand.
He was that strong, and he had lived for hundreds of thousands of years, and yet…
He still hadn’t seen the Darkness Infinity.
Yes, he received their orders. He, of course, fulfilled the said order and reported it, but never once did he get to see them.
Every time the Darkness Infinity wanted something, Neremoth would ‘know’ on his own and act on it. Once he was done, he would compile a report and leave it wherever he completed it, and in a few days, the said report would disappear.
Everything just… happened on its own.
There were no messengers, no building where he was supposed to report to—nothing. Even back when he was a child and was being trained together with others, the Infinity never came personally. They were taught by others.
Honestly, Neremoth did not know a single thing about Infinity. Heck, he didn’t even know his name. He just knew one thing—
That Lord Infinity was strong, and he was supposed to respect and fear him.
And this feeling inside him was so strong that it was quite surprising. It made Nux wonder what gave Neremoth the courage to betray the Infinity he respected and feared so much and join Zarveth to come after him.
When he looked at it, it seemed like he only did it because he was bored. The reasoning was something similar along the lines of wanting to do something great. The only difference was, unlike Zarveth, who did it because of his endless thirst for knowledge, Neremoth just craved power.
Yes, he respected and feared the Infinity, but his greed for power was stronger. He wanted to devour the Anomaly and get stronger than the Infinities and make them grovel under his feet.
Also, the fact that the Anomaly was a mere Primordial who was still wet behind his ears motivated him as well.
If a Primordial Anomaly caused so much destruction throughout the Universe, he wanted to see what he could do as the Anomaly.
It was quite strange actually. Nux noticed the connection between a few of Neremoth’s memories was weak. With all these doubts in his mind, he began reading Zarveth’s memories. He had only read the part where he fought Sharnoth, but now, he was going through his entire life, and the more he read it, the stronger his doubts got—
By the end—
He understood.
It wasn’t that these beings didn’t know anything about the Infinities or had never seen them, it was just that…
Everything they did, their memories were manipulated, and they were made to forget about it without them realizing it.
They didn’t just ‘know’ what their respected Infinity wanted from them—they were told that, and the order was instilled into them. This memory disappeared.
Even Zarveth, who had witnessed the Supreme Battle between the Five Supreme Worlds with his own eyes, was no exception.
In that battle, he remembered everything about Zylarith and how he faced the four Infinities, but the Infinities, in his mind—they were just different ‘lights.’
Black.
Golden.
White.
Grey.
That was all he remembered. Their faces, their abilities—he didn’t know anything despite being one of the oldest beings in the Universe.
“They are quite cowardly for ones who claim themselves to be the strongest beings in the Universe,”
Nux commented, somewhat disappointed.
Honestly, half the reason he was excited about defeating the beings from the Supreme World was that he would finally get to uncover just how strong his enemies were.
But it seemed like his enemies were quite cautious.
‘Who are they so wary of?’
Nux wondered in his mind.
Is there an enemy he does not know about?
Or were they… just wary of each other?
That was one possibility. But if Nux wasn’t wrong, then they should know each other’s strengths and weaknesses by heart now. After all, they had lived for a long, long time. They even fought together when they fought Zylarith.
What could they possibly be hiding from each other?
Or… was he just following the wrong line of thought all this while?
All these questions bothered Nux. Reading the two’s memories only made him more confused. For now, however, he shook his head and shrugged.
There was no point in thinking about it right now.
Even though he hadn’t gained information on the enemy, he had still gained quite a lot in this battle.
He had finally managed to complete his Universe. He got his hands on strong Laws. He even got his hands on Supreme-Level Bloodlines. However, the Supreme Bloodlines weren’t as big of a deal as he thought they would be.
Or more accurately—he couldn’t use them to their fullest potential.
Essentially, a bloodline is connected to a World, which in turn is dependent on the Universe. The Supreme Worlds, that are the closest to the Universe, have the strongest bloodlines—the Supreme Bloodlines.
But when Nux devoured the Supreme Borns and got their bloodlines, the connection these bloodlines had with their worlds broke.
Now usually, this wasn’t a problem when Nux got bloodlines of High-Level or weaker-level Worlds. However, his current Universe, which had only just become a complete Universe a while ago, was nowhere near strong enough to replicate the strength of the Main Universe’s strongest bloodlines.
Did this mean Nux’s current bloodline was weaker than the Supreme Borns’?
There was no answer to this question.
Bloodlines usually dictated one’s potential and gave them abilities. Supreme Bloodlines were obviously strong, but—bloodlines had long stopped mattering to Nux.
It was foolish to link his potential with his bloodline. He was a Universe—an entity far more complex than any living being.
Only his wives and other beings connected to his Universe would care about matters regarding bloodlines, and in their case, yes, their bloodlines were weaker than the Supreme Borns’, but as Nux’s Universe grows, that would change.
More than the bloodlines, abilities, energies, and memories he had gained, what made Nux the most excited were the two beings in front of him.
Zarveth and Neremoth—few of the strongest beings in the Universe—were now in his hands. It obviously went without question what their fate was going to be.
He was going to manipulate their memories, turning them into two of his strongest subordinates.
And the best part?
Because they were now connected to him and his Absolute Law of Inseparable Together, they couldn’t die either—not unless they were trapped inside domains that are stronger than theirs, which obviously would not happen easily since the only beings capable of that were Infinities.
Basically, Nux now had ridiculously strong subordinates that could not be truly killed unless they went against leaders of the Supreme Worlds.
Of course, Zarveth and Neremoth were still not at their strongest—Zarveth had lost his Infinity Relics, and most of his relics couldn’t be used since they were somewhat reliant on the Main Universe. He would now need to create new relics that are connected to Nux’s Universe.
Neremoth, on the other hand, had used up too much of his Soul Power. He would need centuries to recover and return to his peak.
‘Tsk, I should have killed them faster.’
Nux snorted in his head. For now, however, he just shrugged as he began manipulating their memories and turning them into his loyal puppets.
Of course, while he was at it, he also grabbed the rest of the pupp—Supreme Borns he had devoured before and manipulated their heads before.
Now, he had a little party of Supreme Born Slav—Subordinates.
Ahem. Ahem.
