Chapter 1593: Millions of Demons

"This…" A man was standing on top of a tree while looking around the entire forest from the top of the hill.

When he looked to the right, he saw a cloud of dust being kicked up to the horizon. When he shifted his gaze to the left, the cloud of dust continued as far as he could see.

"How many demons are coming this time?" The man gasped. "I have to go back right now."

He hurriedly rushed back before a man suddenly appeared from a different direction. "Brother Man."

"Kaka?" The guy raised his eyebrows. "We have to go back right now. I can't see how many demons are coming. I'm afraid there are hundreds of thousands. No, it might even go beyond that. At this rate, they will arrive at our place in two hours."

"That is bad, right?"

"Of course, it's bad. What are you—?" Before he finished his words, Kaka suddenly moved toward him and stabbed him.

"Kh…" Manoe gritted his teeth while glaring at the man in front of him. "What the hell are you doing?"

To his surprise, Kaka's eyes turned hollow as he said in a monotonous tone. "Die for the demons."

Kaka was flown back, his right arm severed. Kaka simply stood back up as if he didn't feel any pain.

Manoe could only grit his teeth and use every bit of his energy to speed up, running as far as he could to inform the others. Kaka continued to chase after him, but he was a bit slower.

Fortunately, there was another line of scouts that was located 20 minutes from his position thanks to Laufey's arrangement.

"Help!" Manoe screamed.

"!!!" The guy who was stationed on the second line couldn't help but rush to him. "What happened? Who are you?"

"Shadow 009. I have an urgent report. The first line has been compromised. Countless demons are coming. There are so many that I can't calculate their number. Most likely, in the millions. Don't trust the scouts, they might have been parasitized. You go, I'm going to stall for time here."

"You…" The guy was stunned, but Manoe simply smiled and handed over a necklace with a picture of him and his daughter. "It's over for me. Please bring this with you."

The guy's expression turned serious. Suddenly, he heard a roar coming from afar.

"Hurry!"

The guy clicked his tongue and ran away. Before he left, he gave one name. "Shadow 019, Andilin."

Manoe simply smiled. They usually called each other by their codenames, but it looked like this guy wanted to take the responsibility for his role.

Manoe turned around and saw Kaka approaching from afar. "I guess I have no more worries. Sorry, my princess… Dad can't go home."

His eyes turned bloodshot as he charged forward, using the last bit of his power to confront the enemies. "For humanity!"

On another plain, the scouting line had also been compromised, except in a different way. A lot of flying demons dove from the sky and struck them, forcing the scouts to clash with them.

However, they were not just ordinary flying demons. They were the fighting force that the Sky Demon King had personally brought.

The scouts were annihilated.

However, one scout that Manoe entrusted with his task managed to return.

"Not good. Not good. Emergency. The first scout line has been compromised." The guy rushed inside the war council.

Inside, Noel, Rose, Elaine, Anna, and half of the pillars had assembled. Noel couldn't help but stand up.

Noel's expression turned solemn.

"It looks like the war is coming." Anna's voice was cold.

Noel nodded and ordered, "Send all the words to all our allies. Inform the queen and Marshal Conrad about this news. I want all the soldiers ready to be deployed at all times. How is our city?"

"All the cities except for Looming Wield and Grasheon are ready," Rose reported.

"Evacuate the people from those two cities. Tell other cities to be ready to deploy their runes. And make sure to keep track of the demon crystal consumption. We want the demons dead, not our people."

"Understood." Rose nodded.

"Uncle." Noel turned to Laufey, who was still wearing the cat mask. However, with him becoming a spirit transcendence and his identity being cleared, Noel couldn't care less about calling him anymore.

Laufey nodded and walked to Shadow 019 to handle the matter about their scouts.

"Rui, I want you to remain in the council for the time being. Dimitri, work together with Grandel to prepare our troops and all our equipment. Inform our allied merchants and have them cooperate with us. You may reveal the situation and tell them that there is no way out unless we win.

"Harley. Other countries must be getting attacked as well. I want the information about them as soon as possible. Share this information with the western lords and the Greenwood Kingdom to our east as well. Inform them that the attack might come their way as well.

"Balott, I need you to keep the logistics. Work together with Charlotte if possible. This is an emergency, so I have no choice but to pull her out of retirement.

"Khalid, maintain the supply of the medicine and cooperate with the Moon Temple. One less dead means one more fighter that can still fight.
