The continuous clash had destroyed the area as the water kept splashing left and right, showing no sign of receding.

Dimitri landed on top of the water, which had become a battlefield between the mermaid and fish tribes against the demons.

The Diva said, "It looks like we have an even number here."

Dimitri nodded. "Yes. In that case, each spirit transcendence will just have to take care of one target."

"Are you going to be fine?" The Diva was slightly worried about Dimitri, considering he was not someone specialized in water battles.

They were Laufey and Oscar.

The three of them often had a joint mission, as the former commander considered them to have a good enough bond to cooperate even better than any other combination.

Whenever he had a hard time, he would end up meeting the two guys in a bar, drinking his worries away.

It was the best time of his life.

Eventually, he met a cheeky young girl whom he thought had the desire to kill demons for revenge.

However, he soon discerned her intention toward him. Not wanting to waste the young girl’s time, he thought about running away.

He succeeded in avoiding her, but things started to go awry after that. It was as if fate itself wanted them to be apart.

Laufey’s betrayal happened. As a result, the relationship between the three brothers had to be destroyed.

It was the biggest mishap that happened in his life, but what he didn’t expect was what happened after that.

To take responsibility for that massacre, the former commander resigned from his position, and no one knew anything that happened to him after that.

But after knowing that the supreme devil occupied the body of the former commander, everyone couldn’t help but speculate that the massacre was planned by the former commander himself, no, the supreme devil to be accurate.

He had done his job and brought Laufey to the Supreme Devil Organization.

Oscar ended up leading the Demon Banner Army. Because of the continuous avoidance, Milfa couldn’t go with him.

It might be because of his previous attachment to Laufey, but Dimitri ended up going to the Ardagan family for a ’mission.’

It was there he met the person who would change his life: Noel Ardagan. Looking at his small hand desperately gripping his finger somehow gave him a possibility in his mind.

He wondered if he had never avoided Milfa, would he also feel this warmth?

Without him realizing it, he decided to dedicate his life to the baby, Noel Ardagan. It was a rather fulfilling life.

It was no wonder that Laufey talked so much about this family. He never regretted the fact that he was with them.

Eventually, he came to find the truth about Laufey directly from Luke. It was surprising, and if he could be honest, it was frustrating.

Laufey was his brother, but he never thought that his brother would come to the Demon Banner Army with his death already planned.

And it was even more cruel when that death would actually be by the hand of his own nephew, whom he loved so much.

That might be the reason he chose to follow Noel. He wanted to let him grow so that he would consider Noel not to kill his own uncle. He wanted him to save Laufey.

And Noel did, in a way that he couldn’t believe was possible before. Noel saved Laufey.

Even though he had to stay quiet about his identity, Noel did save him. The three brothers could reunite one more time in the future.

Last but not least, this decision had allowed him to take a step that he had never dared to take before.

"I am a coward. I’m selfish. I chose to run away because I didn’t want you to waste your time with someone like me, but that was my selfish thinking.

"I never once asked for your opinion. I never once asked my own heart, always believing that my thinking was correct.

"Sometimes, there’s a time when our hearts should decide instead of our rationality.

"You can punish me for the rest of my life and I won’t say a thing. Only after running this far did I finally realize that you are my most important person.

"Your existence has been creeping into my heart from that day 30 years ago, but I subconsciously buried it.

"I want to take a step forward to the possibility that I thought was unnecessary.

"Milfa. I want you... I want you in my life. I don’t care what you do to me. Please give me a chance to repay you for all this time."

Milfa obviously slapped him hard.

Dimitri just closed his eyes, accepting his punishment.

But Milfa hugged him right away, her voice was hoarse as tears were flowing down her cheeks. "You idiot. I have been waiting for so long. As a punishment, you shouldn’t make me wait anymore for the rest of our lives. You understand?"

Dimitri was shaken. Thanks to Milfa’s understanding, their love came to fruition.

His life had become meaningful thanks to two people. Noel had given him the chance and the direction, while Milfa made him fulfilled.

With those two in his heart, there was nothing he couldn’t do.

That was why when he heard the Diva’s worry, Dimitri couldn’t help but smile while raising his sword. "There is no way for me to lose."

Dimitri already had a place to come back to. All that was left was for him to stop running away. No, he had stopped running away.

It was time for him to take a step into his future. With a home to return to, he felt invincible.

Dimitri leaped toward the demon. "Future Darkness."
