System's POV

Chapter 955 - 955: They’re Finally Making Their Move

Thirteen’s sickness was from over exhaustion, so if he wanted to get better, all he had to do was obediently rest.

Metatron could have healed him with his powers, and Tristan could have given him the most potent medicine the military had developed.

But neither of them did that.

Metatron knew that if he helped Thirteen recover right away, he would once again tinker with projects that would potentially result in him getting sick again.

After confirming that Zion’s life wasn’t in any danger and that he just needed to rest, Tristan also refrained from helping his son-in-law recover as fast as possible. It was in everyone’s best interest that Zion properly rested and stayed in the safety of Casimir City, not running to dangerous places.

Both only wanted what was best for the young man, even if it meant the young man felt discomfort for a longer time.

Thirteen wasn’t stupid and also understood this concept.

Because of this, he decided to divide the tasks he planned to personally do among his Monster Army.

Rocky had left Casimir City and went off to the Planar Mountain Range to pick up Evuvug, leaving Gwenn behind to monitor the expansion of Thirteen’s underground army.

Khan, Harahon, and Lord Zorca were tasked to train their forces in preparation for the upcoming war.

There were also a few other important matters, which he left in the hands of the Trolls, whom he trusted completely.

They had been with Thirteen for many years, so they had learned a few things from him, especially when it came to crafting things.

Thirteen even taught them welding, and they had grown proficient in it.

For the time being, the Trolls were inside the Domain of the Apocalypse, currently tinkering with the projects Thirteen had left behind.

It was a win-win solution, reducing the load the young man would have to return to after his recovery. Knowing that, the Trolls also worked harder than usual.

At the moment, Zion was taking a bath, with Sherry washing his body.

For some reason, Princess Aracelle tagged along, and to be more accurate, two ladies were simultaneously washing his body.

Sherry was washing the front, while the princess was washing the teenage boy’s back.

Thirteen didn’t complain and simply allowed the two to clean him up.

When he was properly washed, Sherry let him soak in the bathtub while she properly washed herself.

Sherry knew that even if all the ladies in the world were to strip naked in front of her fiancé, it wouldn’t have any effect on him.

The earlier incident only strengthened this belief of hers.

When it came to beauty and body proportions, Princess Aracelle had no competition. Erica and Shana were definitely both beautiful and had very sexy bodies. Yet, they still lost out to Princess Aracelle.

Even so, Zion didn’t show any strong reactions to the Princess. While Sherry was happy, the other lady felt a little disappointed.

Just like Sherry thought, Princess Aracelle was confident in her body.

Back in Gomorra, those who wish to become her lover could line up for miles, but that still wouldn’t be the end of it. But in front of the teenage boy, who had the emotional standards of a hard brick, she felt less confident of her appeal as a lady.

Half an hour later, Sherry dried Zion’s body and helped him wear his pajamas.

Although the young man was already feeling better than yesterday, he still had not fully recovered, so he decided to rest for one more day.

“Zion, we will be back in Casimir City by tomorrow afternoon,” Erica said through the teenage boy’s communicator. “I hope you have already recovered by then.”

“I wish for that as well, but I think I need two more days to recover properly,” Thirteen replied.

“When I return, I’ll make sure to heal you properly,” Shana promised.

“Thank you, Shana.” Thirteen smiled faintly.

The two ladies on the projection then glanced in Princess Aracelle’s direction.

Not long ago, Sherry shared with them that Princess Aracelle slept on the couch last night, not on the bed in Zion’s room.

It would be a lie to say that they didn’t feel threatened by Princess Aracelle’s womanly charms.

But so far, aside from holding Zion’s hand, she hadn’t done anything else, which put their minds at ease.

“Is there something that you want to ask her?” Thirteen inquired after noticing that the two ladies were looking at the princess.

“There are a few things we want to ask her,” Erica replied. “But that can wait until our return. We called you to check on your condition and inform you that the morale of the soldiers in the cities we visited is quite low.

“It seems the majority of them don’t believe we can win this war, especially since the news as of late has been about our forces being defeated and pushed back from the front lines.

“Even the elite team made up of the scions of the Monarch Clans and the Prestigious Families had suffered defeat after defeat. If not for the fact that Masked Beetle Rider had appeared twice to save them, they might have been Jinn poop by now.”

“They are terrified,” Shana said softly. “Especially since they are on the front lines of this war. I’m afraid that if nothing is done about it, things will spiral out of our control. Maybe Erica and I need to regroup with Roland and the others.

“That way, we can once again instill confidence in the Central Government after we clear out some Monster Dens in the area.”

Shana wished to stay with Zion for as long as she could. However, she understood she had responsibilities to keep.

After seeing the low morale of the soldiers, she and Erica agreed to spend two days with Zion before returning to their unit.

“Don’t worry. After I recover, I will personally visit those places and give them some pep talk,” Thirteen commented. “I don’t want to brag, but your fiancé can instill confidence in others better than the Hero Party.”

Erica chuckled but didn’t say anything to refute her lover’s words.

Indeed, compared to Zion, the Hero Party fell far too short in terms of achievements.

As the Supreme Commander of the Alliance and the one responsible for liberating the Rigel Continent, Zion’s mere presence can lift a person’s morale instantly.

Lastly, the achievements he had made in the Cygni Continent were truly profound, instilling confidence in the people who worked alongside him.

“There’s also one more thing I need to tell you, Zion,” Shana said in a serious tone. “The Monarchs will arrive in the Cygni Continent after a week. I learned this from my father earlier.”

“Oh?” Thirteen arched an eyebrow. “They’re finally making their move.”

“Is that a good thing?” Erica inquired.

“Having the Monarchs here is a good thing.” Thirteen nodded. “They are the strongest members of humanity, so knowing they are here can boost the morale of the troops.”

Princess Aracelle, who was listening on the side, couldn’t help but sneer.

The Antares and the Rigel Continent had fallen into the hands of the Jinns, and all it took was the appearance of a handful of Rank 9 Monsters.

The invasion this time around would play out the same.

In fact, Princess Aracelle was more worried about Zion’s safety.

She was even thinking of ways to protect the teenage boy, once the main force of House Pavareth arrived in Pangea.

In the eyes of the Jinns, this wasn’t really a war between them and the humans.

For them, the humans would easily be defeated once they collaborated.

The true enemy they had to face was the other Jinns, who would surely try to secure a bigger share in the distribution of lands after the Cygni Continent fell into their hands.

‘I must keep him safe no matter what,’ Princess Aracelle thought as she gazed at the pale-looking teenage boy, who now looked very vulnerable and weak in her eyes.
