Taking the Mafia to the Magic World

Chapter 1133: The Clone

Chapter 1133: The Clone

Vicente looked at his creation with the surprise of anyone faced with an almost perfect copy of himself. Looking at the exact image of himself, he hesitated for a moment as he raised one of his hands, confirming his clone would not repeat the same gesture.

Not only did the clone not repeat Vicente’s behavior, but he laughed and opened his mouth. “I’m not going to repeat gestures for no reason.”

Vicente narrowed his eyes as he heard his voice from a mouth other than his own for the first time. He didn’t pay attention to how different his voice sounded, nor was he surprised by the intelligence he had given this clone.

“How much of my plans do you know?” Vicente asked his copy to confirm his circumstances.

In theory, everything could be beautiful and perfect. In practice, however, things weren’t always so fine.

“I know my purpose. I must wait for Senior Minos to bring him into our crusade,” said the copy with conviction. “I just don’t know what other plans you might have. Now that I’m here, I feel some ideas are running through your mind.”

Vicente opened his mouth, but said nothing, momentarily observing his new version. ’He really is like me…’

Vicente revealed to the clone. “In fact, your existence is rather curious. I didn’t expect you to be so…”

“Complete?” The clone smiled as he completed the sentence.

“Yes.” Vice shook his head positively. “Can you cultivate?”

“Surprisingly, yes.” He looked at himself as if he were checking such a thing. “However, while you can access my experiments,” he formed a small metal needle with his powers before using it to cut off one of his fingers. “The same doesn’t apply to my cultivation.”

Vicente felt a slight twinge in one of his fingers, confirming he could feel the same thing as the clone. As he looked at the clone’s bleeding finger, he compared it to his own, which looked perfect at first glance, but hurt as if it had been bruised.

The clone closed his eyes for a second and absorbed the area mana, using it to regenerate his minor injury and marginally increase his own power. This time, however, Vicente only felt the pain pass, not noticing any improvement in his cultivation.

’As expected. I can’t get stronger simply by using clones to cultivate in my place.’ Vicente realized the truth behind his clone, better understanding what he had created. ’However, that’s not all bad. If I can use his cultivation experience, I could still go further than just having a high-level messenger.’

He suggested to his clone. “It doesn’t matter. You must cultivate to be strong and able to stay alive until we’ve completed all our plans. In the meantime, just knowing what you know will be enough for me.”

The clone agreed. As much as he had his own thoughts, he thought exactly like his original version. His priority was the same as Vicente’s and he was willing to do anything to achieve such goals.

Another peculiarity made him entirely loyal to Vicente. While he could be hurt and even killed and Vicente would only feel these experiences, if Vicente died, the clone would also cease to exist!

Even just seconds after his creation, the clone was willing to do anything so his true self would continue to exist, including obeying Vicente as best he could.

The clone looked towards the exit of this dark area of the palace at the same time as his original self. “You must go and join the rest of the group. Be careful on your journey. I won’t have access to your experiences like you will with mine, so I won’t be able to use that to my advantage. Be smart about my adventures from now on and be prepared. We’re strong, but I can’t guarantee I’ll exist until we’ve completed our plans.”

Vicente stood up and showed one of his hands to the clone. “Good luck. I’m confident you’ll make the same decisions as I would in your place.”

The clone laughed, but didn’t add more. He just watched his original self go, wondering how long it had taken for him to be created.

When Vicente left the underground of his palace, he came across the underlings who had been waiting for him. Of his group, only Rex was around at the moment.

As soon as he spotted Vincent, Rex ran towards him.

Vicente was soon surrounded by guardians and undead, waiting for orders. But first, he asked, “Larissa and Kong aren’t here? Where did they go? How long have I been in seclusion?”

“Almost 100 days, master,” Rex said in readiness. “Those two left in search of opportunities after waiting for almost a month for you. At the time, they were aware of the local situation and felt confident about separating temporarily.”

Vicente asked one of his men, “What about the war? Is it over?”

His first suspicion was that, for Kong and Larissa to feel so confident, the war must have ended, or at least weakened a lot.

“No,” answered the only that being. “But I believe things are quite ’calm’ these days. We haven’t had any reports of True Celestial deaths for weeks.”

The war raged on, with undead and guardians fighting at full tilt against others of similar titles on behalf of their respective masters. But the killing between Devils had slowed down a lot, with the strongest, who had been fighting to the death previously, retreating and no longer being seen in confrontations.

In the next few minutes, Vicente would learn how the strongest Devils taking part in the dispute over Abby Miller’s domains were still alive and some of them had even grown stronger. From what he discovered, new level 128 Devils had emerged in his absence, replacing those who had fallen and even increasing the number of high-level specialists in the dimension.

The war so far had killed at least 40% of the former domain holders of Hell. But the dimension’s strength had hardly diminished, as several new Devils had emerged, while old monsters had grown even stronger.

There was no news of Qhava and the dimension’s strongest man, Lothur Ritter. However, it was almost certain that both had taken advantage of the immense opportunities of recent years.

Meanwhile, the second-ranking Devils, along with the underlings of the strongest Devils in the dimension, continued to fight for the remnants of Abby’s domain.

According to Vicente’s group of minions, 15% of Devil Abby’s former territory was still free for anyone with Infernal Crowns to vie for.

“I see,” Vicente muttered after hearing the summary of everything. “So Kong and Larissa went to fight over some of those last Reincarnation Wheels zones in Devil Abby’s old territory?”

Rex responded, “Senior Kong did. But Larissa said she was going to contest domains underestimated by the beings involved in the war. She said she’d go up a level or two and then return so we could follow our plans.”

Vicente saw no problem in waiting. Given how long he had been in seclusion to create his clone, he couldn’t blame his companions. At the same time, Larissa and Kong had ways of protecting themselves, and they hadn’t gone on their hunt alone. Ultimately, their strength would be needed on the journey ahead.

He then ordered his men, sending messengers to Kong and Larissa, looking forward to their departure for the domains of the one who was closest to the Absolute level—the peak of the Transcendent stage!

’While they return, I’ll prepare for you, Lothur Ritter. I hope we won’t be enemies, but if we have to be, I will be prepared.’

He returned to his palace to make his final preparations for his journey.
