Chapter 221: The Sword Maiden
Chapter 221: The Sword Maiden
[A/N: Each companion won’t have such detailed Chapters! However, their evolutions and branch names will be touched upon in the next few Chapters. After that, the POV will switch back to other current news.] 😉

Much like he had with Nia, Ash visited each of his closest companions who had been teleported away. They all experienced a mix of emotions, with disappointment standing out the most.
With his arrival, their evolutions, and each receiving a similar task—though the men would obviously earn different rewards—they were all determined to redeem themselves and cement their place as monsters.
Far from Venia and Erebus lay the Wildheart Galaxy, a realm fiercely contested by two Eternal Clans.
For 5,000 years, the Eternal Phased Conclave and the Eternal Primal Menagerie had been locked in an endless struggle for control. It reached a point where no world, realm, or star was home to any race outside their factions.
The Eternal Phased Conclave hailed from the moon itself, their progenitor born in the 20th Cycle from the very first moon.
Known as the Selenara, they were humanoid beings with moonstone-like skin and eyes that mirrored lunar phases.
The Eternal Primal Menagerie, on the other hand, was a coalition of beasts, led by descendants of the Olden Beast, those said to be born directly from the mighty Beast Progenitor.
Their ranks held Leviathans, Rabbit Kin, Fox Kin, Wolves, and more.
And amidst all this, two fourth-ranked Calamity cultivators emerged on opposite ends of the galaxy, unaware of each other’s existence.
—
On a moon inhabited by the Selenara, Vaeloria drifted through the skies, unseen by any of its people.
After her evolution, her appearance had transformed—her eyes turned completely white, marked only by black full moons, with a matching symbol on her forehead. She bore white horns traced with black lines and twelve wings of the same color, each tipped in black.
Her hair, too, had taken on streaks of pure darkness.
Like the others, Vaeloria had become a conceptual existence, making her undetectable. During her evolution, Ash altered her soul much like Nia’s, but instead she embodied the Concepts of Darkness, Illusions, Moon, and the Sword.
When it came to the sword, he didn’t just grant her its Concept—no, he shared all the boundless knowledge he possessed, even the method to forge a truth.
Though she lacked the truth for now, she held the peak of sword aura and intent.
Hovering in the skies, a wave of nostalgia washed over her.
“Tsk, is this supposed to be some kind of lesson?” she muttered to her nexus.
—
[No, this is the beginning of redemption.]
[Task:
Eliminate the one responsible for your sealing, found in the central tower on the highest floor.
Decide the fate of the Selenara.
Conquer the Wildheart Galaxy.]
—
Hearing those words, her heart pounded wildly—and how could it not?
Back on Elaris, she’d been imprisoned by the “Moon” for most of her life.
Though she was 230,000 years old, she hadn’t truly lived that long; instead, she’d been sealed away for most of those years, and if not for her rank, she would have died alone.
“So, he never forgot, huh?” she muttered with a smirk.
She wore a custom black battle dress, and as she dropped her concealment, she summoned her sword—also pure black. As she did, she began channeling the very essence of her being, the fusion of all the concepts that made her who she was.
Between her wings, etched on her back, was a thin black sword tattoo.
As her aura swelled, she descended slowly onto the moon.
By the time her feet touched the rocky surface, millions of illusory black swords shimmered behind her.
And so, it began—the tale of the Sword Maiden.
—-
In the moon’s cradle, where ’angels’ are born, she descended—a beauty with wings of deceit, her first breath a dying sigh.
Her first step crunched bone beneath her grace, moving from door to shattered door, crater to crimson crater.
Heads tumbled like fallen stars; blood spattered across the night’s parchment. All for the one who clasped chains of glory around her wrist,
All for the promise that glory itself would one day kneel.
She climbed the jagged spine of the moon, each foothold carved from the proud, each breath tasting of iron and redemption.
At the highest peak, where the void kissed silver’s edge, she stood—eyes as sharp as the blade she was.
The chains took the shape of a beauty… one who could not recall, could not remember… one who gleamed a final time in the cold light.
And the sword fell.
SHK!
THUD!
Not from rage, nor mercy, but with the quiet certainty of a maiden destined to become a storm no realm could hold.
—-
After a long day’s work, Vaeloria stood atop the highest floor of the central tower, gazing down at the moon now stained with the blood of the Selenara.
With each death, she thought perhaps she might release her past grievances.
Yet she felt nothing—no excitement, no pity.
She simply existed, and in that stillness, found a measure of clarity.
“The past shall define me no more. From today onward, the branch I lead will be the Originat’s Sword.”
With those words, she didn’t just leave the world behind.
Letting go of the past meant erasing it entirely.
Standing beyond the moon’s surface, she infused her blade with pure sword essence and swung.
|Eclipse Feint Slash|
WHOOOSH!
A colossal arc of energy stretched across 90 million kilometers, cleaving the moon clean in two upon impact.
As Vaeloria turned to leave…
KABOOOOOOM!
