Chapter 425 (1) – The Academys Weapon Replicator
The Academy’s Weapon Replicator
Frondier raised the workshop high into the sky, so high that it was out of sight, almost to the very edge of Menosorpo’s range.
Unless someone was specifically trying to find it, no ordinary human would be able to spot the workshop.
“Now then.”
Frondier brushed his hands lightly and moved.
By now, Bune would be busy fighting his golems, but it wasn’t something Frondier needed to pay much attention to.
He would fight well enough on his own.
“I should head back.”
Frondier returned the way he came, stepping through the shattered window.
Carla, who had been waiting in the hallway, saw him.
“…Ah, what about Antero?”
“I’ve put him somewhere safe.”
It was a place so safe that even Antero himself couldn’t escape, but he didn’t bother explaining that part.
“…You really defeated him? The Paladin?”
“He was a man who didn’t deserve to be called that.”
“He was famous for his arrogant personality.”
“…Hmm, I see.”
That wasn’t the reason he said it, but he didn’t bother correcting her.
“So, who are you?”
Carla looked at Frondier with inquisitive eyes.
It wasn’t a look of wariness or suspicion, but rather curiosity.
“You saw through my identity at a glance, you’re knowledgeable about related matters, you lifted the curse, and you defeated a Paladin… What else don’t I know?”
“…If that’s all, then you know about half of what I know.”
Carla chuckled at Frondier’s words. It was the first time Frondier had seen her laugh so naturally. She wasn’t trying to make herself look pretty, just smiling. The kind of smile that made others smile too.
“Thank you, Frondier.”
“I should be the one thanking you. I would have been in danger if it weren’t for you.”
Frondier had been vulnerable while inside Pandemonium.
If it wasn’t for Carla, who knows what Antero would have done to him.
‘Carla said my body had become tougher, but I don’t know how much tougher. If its strength can’t block his aura, then it’s extremely dangerous. I don’t know if I could have escaped Pandemonium when I was first hit, or if I would have been stuck inside even as my body was being destroyed.’
The latter was a terrifying thought, but often the most terrifying possibilities were the right ones.
It was a game, after all.
Carla spoke.
“It’s what I should have done. You lifted my curse.”
Carla was truly grateful for that.
Frondier laughed awkwardly.
“It’s also true that you lost one of your abilities.”
“Still, this is better.”
Carla stated firmly.
Indeed, it was better not to have an ability that couldn’t be controlled properly. Frondier agreed with that. He also made it a habit to test out any new weapons or abilities he acquired.
Furthermore, if there was something that made him uneasy, he wouldn’t even take it out. The prime example being the Spear and Shield of Ares he had obtained while fighting Renzo. Their options were still all question marks.
“Headmaster. You might be disappointed, but I don’t help people for free.”
“Of course.”
Carla nodded. Determination and resolve could be seen in her eyes.
“I’ll do whatever I can to help.”
“I have many questions for you, Headmaster. The information I seek could be quite sensitive.”
“That’s what I was hoping for.”
Carla spoke with unwavering conviction. Frondier nodded.
“Then first…”
Ding-dong-
Just then, the school bell rang.
[Attention to all parents and students within Atlas. Today’s class representative selection matches have all concluded. Students of each class are to follow the instructions of their homeroom teachers—]
The announcement marked the end of the first day at Machia. Frondier and Carla looked at each other.
“Let’s get back to our main jobs for now.”
“Hehehe, yes.”
Frondier and Carla turned to leave together.
Then, Frondier paused, looking at the window he had broken.
‘…Should I use restoration magic?’
The thought crossed his mind for a moment, but it was magic too flashy to show Carla.
Besides, it was something he had done to get rid of the enemy who threatened Carla.
‘Carla will take care of it.’
