Chapter 966 - 964-Best Friend Problems.
Chapter 966: Chapter 964-Best Friend Problems.
The moment those words were spoken, the room froze; it was as if some mage had cast a spell that froze the whole atmosphere, but that didn’t last for more than a moment—’cause just a second later, the expression of Nathalia turned stunned, her expression twisting up a little as at that moment only a single reply came from her.
"Wh-What?"
She tried to play it off, but seeing the hardened gaze of Elda, Nathalia knew she couldn’t play dumb at the moment, so she tried her best to get reins on her mind as she took in a deep breath, answered with a nod.
"I love Austin."
Her words were simple and straight, but the effect they once again had in the room was immediate: the gaze of Lanora flickered, a certain sense of danger; Nyla’s face twisted for a moment, after which it settled back to a certain sense of calm, seemingly as if nodding in understanding.
"When did this happen?"
Suddenly, Nyla asked, her voice just curious, giving off nothing, seeing which a sense of displeasure flashed through the face of Elda, who quickly hid it as she awaited the answer.
"I don’t know when correctly when it all began; I just know that before I could realise, I had already fallen."
The three girls nodded their heads at those words—all of them seeming in sync together to understand every word, but that didn’t mean the atmosphere got any less stiffening.
"I am guessing you didn’t know about what your family did."
Elda said, though it was more of a question to which Nathalia nodded her head strongly—those eyes of hers lighting up, all of 3 of them.
"Yes, I only found out about it after it all had happened."
Elda turned quiet for a moment, but she had established what she wanted to do as Lanora butted in now.
"What happened?"
Her voice turned a degree colder as Nathalia, quietly shy from everything explained, it all—which the other two girls, hearing for the first time, took all in, traces of jealousy flashing through them at the situation, especially for Lanora, who felt that things had taken an even more twisted change at the revelation. It seems Austin was slipping far out of her hands, her expression hardening at the thought.
"It seems Austin wasn’t against you?"
Nyla asked with a smirk on her face, which made Nathalia blush hard, which made the girls even more annoyed as Nathalia fought a bit replied.
"That seems to be the case."
The happiness and depth of her emotions hit the other 3 hard, who felt a sense of betrayal and anger burning in them as Nathalia, a bit hesitant, asked.
"Ar-Are you angry at me?"
Her question made Elda focus on her as she replied, shaking her head.
"No, I don’t have any desire to get in between my brother’s romantic life, and I am not angry. I know how my brother is; even if he didn’t try, girls seem to be falling for him, and he took away my friend, sheart now too."
Elda said that with a pout coming to her face, seemingly acting a bit betrayed in a cute-like fashion, which made Nathalia relieved as she smiled, though her smile didn’t last for long as Elda added.
"Though you will have a tough road ahead, Nathalia; my brother has quite several girls gunning after him, and I don’t think it will be easy to just one person to hold him."
Her words made each of the girls think deeper, and it, in a sense, made Nathalia weary, but before she could even digest that wearying emotions, a bomb fell on her head.
"I am also in love with Austin."
Lanora added—the bomb going off in the room with a big blast: Elda’s expression cracked; Nathalia was digesting the information, and for a single moment, Nyla had the expression of understanding like it’s natural.
But it once again plunged the room into another level of tough atmosphere—poor room, it was dealing with more tension than ever before in its life.
"Sigh.....I am not even having the heart to ask how it all happened; let me guess, it just happened?"
Elda asked with a wry smile, but Nyla connected a lot of different information in her mind as she asked.
"Does that mean he matched your tune and music?"
Nyla’s words had a lot of depth to them, to which Lanora beamed as she nodded her head.
"Indeed, I can say his talent and ability might perhaps even defeat mine in music, and when the tune just beats like that, mine fell for it."
Her words put the room in a more contemplative atmosphere: Elda knew just how well Austin plays as she played for him, plus she also knew his other identity, which he had revealed to her—though shocking enough, she accepted it and only made Austin sweeter and fabulous in her eyes.
Meanwhile Nyla was digesting this in another way—her mind churning out ideas while Nathalia took it as Austin having more mysteries to uncover; her everything was amazing, and as the one she severs her mind twisted around what she could do around it—to gain his absolute depth and love, her mind leaning towards the fact that perhaps she hasn’t fully understood the man she claims she loves.
Then it all came down towards what they knew about Lanora and her culture from what she told all of them, though for more it leaned more toward some unsavoury details of the situation; both Lanora and Nathalia looked at each other—a sense of tension, difference, and rivalry being born. Meanwhile, Elda suddenly asked.
"With all the things I see around my big brother, I don’t think his life would perhaps just end with one woman; how will you lean that into your culture?"
The question made Lanora look at Elda—her mind quite confused as she asked.
"Are you also not angry at me?"
To which Elda shook her head.
"I am more angry at my brother; it seems he needs a nice beating from me."
Elda flashed her nonexistent bicep as she said so.
"Then thank you; I too was worried about how you would respond. Now I can rest easy, and as for your question, I truly don’t know—as someone chasing Austin, it’s just right to accept the culture of what Austin may want, but it’s not easy for my heart."
Elda nodded at those words with a smile on her face, after which she suddenly looked at Nyla, who was taking all this with a smirk on her face. Seeing Elda look at her, Nyla asked.
"What?"
"Nothing, just waiting to see if you would also tell that you love my brother."
Her words made Nyla laugh.
"Hahaha.....sadly no; sure I like your brother, but it’s more as a person—he’s a fun dude to be around, and fighting him is very fun too."
A bloodthirsty smile came to Nyla’s face at the end of her words, which made the rest of the girls shake their heads, though a small sense of relief was also in their minds.
"This is quite the awkward situation, then."
Elda spoke; Nathalia and Lanora didn’t know who to look at each other—heck, they didn’t know how to even start dealing with this situation, but in a sense, Elda knew—her mind swirling around as she felt deep into her bloodline and ability: an ability wielded only by the saintess of the church of life herself.
Elda’s eyes started to shimmer; she started to see the special thread of life around her friends: Nyla with a certain sense of deep redness to it—like a flame that always burns bright; the more you try to crush it, the hotter it will burn. Next was Lanora—her soul was a certain sense of calm blue: the kind that made you calm; her life force rode like tunes in a wave.
’Then the monster.’
When Elda’s eyes landed on Nathalia, what she saw was an amalgamation of disaster—a life force seemingly bending and breaking, glued together like a monster: black darkness mixed with deathly purple, all gurgling together like a mixture of dangerous life core that seems artificial yet alive and real: a contradiction, one might say.
’A small pull.’
Elda’s fingers twitched; she latched onto the depth of her bloodline—the abilities around her swirling as she saw upon the minute fluctuations of life within the girls. Right now, she wasn’t powerful or grown enough to directly interfere in them without touch, but once she is—with a simple tug of her mind, the life forces of the people will change; just a moment of change in the force of life that flowed all through their life and boom!
They will die....
’I can even twist it to something even more ugly.’
Elda tapped more into her bloodline essence; she was trying to create even a single twist in the life force of her friends.
