Chapter 985: Chapter 983-Making The World Change.
"The food was delicious as always."
I spoke with a smile after having a full feast, my words being more than enough to make Athena smile as she replied.
"Good, and don’t hesitate to ask for any kind of help if you need it."
She said as she started to clean up the plates. I also joined in. At first, Athena rejected it, but later she gave up, and the two of us cleaned up the plates, after which we settled down with Athena cleaning the plates. To this, she didn’t hesitate, as while cleaning, she suddenly spoke.
"Oh, right, the documents you asked for are already prepared and kept at the main table. You can have a look at it."
"You are only telling me this now?"
I asked back with a wry smile, to which Athena, with narrowed eyes, replied, while still cleaning the plates.
"If I had said this to you before, you would have rushed off to it without enjoying the feast first."
I raised my hands in surrender as I replied.
"Guilty as charged, though I will be going to deal with that. I have some things to settle based on that. I will be gone for some time."
My words only sparked worry in Athena’s eyes as she paused for a moment to look at me.
"Don’t worry, I will be fine, and I remember to ask for help if I need it."
Athena finally relented.
"Sigh... I know I can’t stop you, though I do hope you can be more careful. Right now, the whole world’s eyes are on you. You stay as the eye of the storm."
"I know."
I said as I walked forth and bowed a little, to which Athena placed a light kiss on my forehead.
"Go on, do what you have to do."
"You know I will."
With that reply, I left the kitchen as I headed to the main table, where a set of documents being arranged, which I took up and headed to one of the rooms arranged for me. Locking the door, I sat up at the study table set within the room as I started to go through the documents. It didn’t take long before I had a full idea of the details present in the documents, my mind then playing through each of the details as my plans shifted around at it.
’It seems like I will have some subtle plays to do before I can jump into the final action.’
Musing on that thought, I stood up from the chair. It had only taken me a few minutes to read through the whole set; thus, it was time to move through the next meetings and plans I had set in motion. With one swift movement, I quickly cut through the layers of space, moving at a speed others can’t even begin to comprehend, and I soon arrived in a room.
...
Navock City.
Near The District Owned By The Earth Company:
One of The Headquarters:
Appearing in the room, I looked around, after which I walked out of the very well-defined and luxurious room. Waiting outside were my two secretaries, who did everything for me, the two of them being Eira and Luminara.
Eira, the dark elf, with her dark skin, brown hair, and brown eyes, her small breasts and a large ass, wearing a more sexy yet modest, powerful secretary dress of a white shirt and a dark black skirt that reached her thighs, along with black stockings, looking quite delicious for the eyes. Her long, elven ears were shaking with excitement at seeing me.
Luminara has bright and soft skin, black and silver hair, and black eyes. She still looked beautiful and was lean with her large breasts fit snugly in her grey shirt and grey skirt, tightly snug around her thighs. She was wearing skin-colored stockings which only brought more attention to her legs, making her also have that overall sexy effect.
"Welcome back, Master." ×2
The two of them said at the same time, as Eira and Luminara looked me up and down, seemingly trying to see if I was hurt in any way.
"Don’t worry, as I said before, I am fine."
"Forgive my interest, I just wanted to make sure."
Luminara spoke, to which Eira added.
"Indeed, you should have seen how worried she was when she heard the news!"
Eira’s words made Luminara’s lips twitch, and before these two could fight and go at it, I responded.
"Let’s head to the meeting room. You guys need to tell me everything done and if the work is finished. If done well, I still remember the reward I promised the two of you."
My words made the eyes of both women light up as they straightened up and led me towards the meeting room. It didn’t take long for me to settle down and begin hearing the reports.
....
The meeting room looked as badass as always, with a glass wall that showed the beauty of the whole city.
I took my seat at the head of the table, the leather chair groaning comfortably under my weight. I leaned back, crossing my legs, and watched Eira and Luminara. They stood at attention like elite officers, though they were barely masking the mix of excitement, exhaustion, and that sharp, underlying competitiveness that always seemed to spice their cooperation.
"Alright," I said, the rhythmic tap of my finger against the table sounding like a ticking clock. "Give me the numbers. I want to know exactly how much the ’Earth Company’ has shaken everything while I was away."
Luminara stepped forward first. She was the anchor of our financial operations. She opened a thick, leather-bound ledger, her voice clear, and she going to talk about the Entertainment & Intellectual Property Sector.
"The cultural impact has been... unprecedented, Master," Luminara began, her eyes scanning the book. "The release of the ’Classic Symphony Series’ has effectively monopolised the noble music scene. By introducing the concept of ’Copyright’—which we’ve enforced through the Merchant’s Guild—we’ve seen a 410% increase in sheet music sales after the Royal Philharmonic performed The Four Seasons. We are no longer just selling music; we are selling the right to play it."
"And the hardware?" I asked.
"The ’Mana-Acoustic Resonance Box’—the simplified phonograph you designed—is the must-have item for every Duke and Baron," she replied. "We’ve sold three hundred units at a 600% markup. Because we patented the vibration-to-mana conversion crystal, any bard playing your compositions in a public tavern must now pay a 5% ’Performance Royalty’ to the Earth Company. They complained at first, until they realised the popularity of the music tripled their tips."
Eira chimed in, her long elven ears twitching with a mischievous pride. "On the literary front, Master, your ’Great Detective’ has become a plague. The serialisation of The Adventures of a certain detective has caused a literal riot at our printing presses. We’ve moved over 50,000 copies in this kingdom alone. We’ve had to invent the ’Paperback’ format just to keep up with the demand from the commoners."
She paused, a smirk playing on her lips. "The ’mystery’ genre simply didn’t exist two months ago; now, every noble is wearing a deerslayer hat and carrying a magnifying glass. It’s reached a point where the Navock City Watch is complaining that citizens are trying to solve crimes themselves, often interfering with actual investigations."
I chuckled, the image of medieval nobles playing dress-up detective bringing a wry smile to my face. "I suppose I should apologise to the Chief of Watch later. And the bottom line for the quarter?"
"Total net gain across all entertainment subsidiaries sits at 800 million Gold Crowns," Luminara stated, her eyes shimmering. "To put that in perspective, that is more than the annual tax revenue of a country. We are no longer a company; we are a sovereign economic power.
Next being the Lifestyle & Commodity Revolution.
"It’s not just the arts," Eira added, stepping closer to the table, her dark eyes flashing. "The ’Distilled Spirit’ project—the Vodka and Gin you suggested—has decimated the local ale market. The nobles find the clarity of the alcohol ’divine,’ and because we control the distillation columns, we have a total monopoly on high-proof spirits. We’ve also seen a massive surge in our ’Ready-to-Wear’ fashion line. The zippers and buttons we introduced? They’ve replaced laces in every high-end tailor shop in the city. We’re charging a licensing fee for the button-mould designs alone."
I nodded. It was working. Another one of my aim i to change the whole culture of this world in many ways. I miss the modern era.
