The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 551

Chapter 551: “You Can’t Escape.”

Pain. Bone-deep pain. It felt as if her organs were being ripped out, her bones crushed. The searing pain from Airi’s dragon breath consumed Machi, forcing a scream from her lips.

“Uuu… Aaaaah…” Machi lay on the ground, wailing in agony. Her vaporized feet and hand didn’t bleed, but were charred black, a horrifying sight. Perhaps this was the only fortunate thing; otherwise, she would have bled to death.

But Machi felt no relief. This was a nightmare. In an instant, her feet and one hand were gone.

“So, you dodged a little?” Airi, hovering above Machi on her dragon wings, looked down at her broken body, her voice merciless. “I should have used more power.”

That attack hadn’t been Airi’s full strength. A full-powered dragon breath could vaporize not just a mountain, but the entire Tegor Forest. Airi had held back, giving Machi a chance to dodge.

Machi looked up at Airi, the pressure and killing intent unwavering, and swallowed her screams. She couldn’t afford to waste her energy. Surviving a Demon Lord’s attack wouldn’t be easy.

“[Dark Cover]!” Machi, enduring the pain, raised her staff with her remaining hand and chanted. Her broken body merged into the shadows on the ground and disappeared. This was the magic she had used before Shien, allowing her to escape. It allowed her to merge into darkness and shadows, moving freely within them. She had used this magic to infiltrate many places and escape danger, a rare Dark Magic skill second only to teleportation. Its drawback was its high magic power consumption, so even Machi rarely used it, only in critical moments like this. Without it, she had no way to escape a Demon Lord.

Unfortunately…

“Millu.” Lid, in mid-air, called out.

Millu instantly understood.

“Whoosh!” The innocent-looking little girl swooped down like an arrow, narrowly avoiding Airi.

Airi didn’t stop her.

Millu dove towards the earth and disappeared into the ground.

A moment later…

“Bang!” A muffled explosion came from underground, and a pained cry followed.

Machi’s broken body was blasted out from the ground where she had disappeared.

Then, Millu emerged from the ground, lunging towards Machi and poking her with a finger.

“[Black Curtain]!” Machi desperately chanted, using defensive magic.

However, this magic was useless against Millu. Millu’s small hand, like a phantom, passed through the dark curtain and poked Machi’s shoulder.

“Bang!” Another explosion. This time, it was Machi’s shoulder that exploded, blood splattering.

“Aaaaaah…!” Machi screamed again.

Her blood splattered on Millu’s small face, but Millu didn’t seem bothered. She licked the blood from her lips, a disturbingly cheerful smile appearing on her face.

Then…

“You better stop trying to escape.” Lid’s voice came from above. “Millu is a ghost. You can’t escape.”

Indeed. Millu was a ghost. Not metaphorically, but literally. Why was this innocent little girl called the Ghost Demon? Because her power was to transform into a true ghost.

What was a true ghost?

Simple. It could fly without weight, pass through walls, be intangible to physical attacks, turn invisible, torment others in their dreams, curse them, and even possess them.

Therefore, Millu was called the Ghost Demon, considered, along with Lid, the most dangerous of the Six Demon Lords. If she wanted to, she could turn a city into a ghost domain, draining everyone’s life force, even capturing their souls, turning them into her ghostly army.

This was Millu Peshi’s Unique Skill—[Ghost Seed].

Shien found this innocent girl terrifying, and Machi also considered her the most dangerous of the Demon Lords. Because Millu was a true ghost, not only possessing the same abilities, but her values were also different. The bloodier and more brutal the scene, the more excited she became. Without supervision, she could do terrible things.

In the past, Millu, finding it amusing, had drained the blood of an entire army, turning them into dried corpses. She had even once entered the human world, looking for someone to play with, but accidentally stumbled into the Divine Realm, turning several goddesses into ghouls, almost causing a huge conflict between the Divine Race and the Demon Race.

To prevent such incidents, Lid always accompanied Millu.

Lid couldn’t use her power freely due to its destructive potential.

Millu couldn’t wander freely due to her lack of a sense of right and wrong.

They were considered the two most dangerous Demon Lords because they could unintentionally cause unimaginable disasters. Unlike the brutal Dragon Demon and Poison Demon, these two could cause destruction even without actively trying.

Therefore, they formed a pair, one restraining her younger sister, the other protecting her older sister.

Facing such a Millu, Machi couldn’t escape by hiding in shadows. Millu, as a ghost, could also enter the shadows and drag her out.

Realizing this, Machi, covered in blood, still didn’t give up. She didn’t want to die, not out of fear, but unwillingness. She still had unfinished business, things she wanted to do. She also wanted to get back at that Earl and show him what a Dark Elf was truly capable of.

“[Celestial Collapse]!” Machi screamed.

A terrifying gravitational force suddenly appeared around her broken body, like a black hole, distorting and tearing space.

“Gravity Magic?” Lid recognized the magic. It was the same type of magic Leisha used, able to manipulate gravity. Machi was using the most dangerous forbidden spell of Gravity Magic, creating a collapsing black hole.

“Crack, crack, crack…!” Under the uncontrolled gravitational pull, the black hole seemed to truly descend, tearing space and sucking in everything around it, crushing them.

“Yaa!” Although unharmed due to her ghostly form, Millu was still affected by the gravity, tossed around like a kite, letting out a cry, either of fear or excitement.

Airi and Lid flew into the air, avoiding the collapsing space.

“She’s actually using a forbidden spell of mutual destruction?” Lid was surprised.

“Mutual destruction?” Airi snorted. “That Dark Elf isn’t the type to die with her enemy.”

Although this spell was powerful and indiscriminate, engulfing even Machi herself, she also knew Dark Magic. Using [Dark Cover], she could probably escape into the shadows and avoid the collapsing gravity field. It was, after all, just an artificial black hole, not a real one, unable to absorb even light.

“Whoosh—!” Airi unleashed her scorching dragon’s breath towards the collapsing black hole below, the flames expanding and engulfing it, melting it like magma.

“Boom—!” With a blinding flash and a thunderous roar, the black hole was destroyed by the dragon’s breath.

It was at this moment that Lid finally acted.

“Roar!” With a soul-shaking roar, Lid’s fluffy body suddenly expanded, growing larger and larger, a terrifying aura emanating from her. When she reached the size of a dragon, she stopped.

“This size should be enough, right?” Lid’s voice boomed like thunder as she opened her massive maw towards the ground.

An astonishing suction force erupted from Lid’s mouth, even stronger than the black hole earlier, sucking everything up from the ground.

Trees were uprooted.

The ground cracked and flew upwards.

Even fragments of the collapsed space were drawn towards Lid.

Lid swallowed everything, devouring it all.

If this continued, even the Tegor Forest would be devoured.

Fortunately, the person Lid wanted appeared quickly.

From the shadows, Machi, her body broken, was sucked out, struggling as she, along with countless trees and debris, flew towards the sky.

Lid’s maw was like a bottomless pit, swallowing everything.

Including the broken Dark Elf.

“No—!!!” Machi screamed in terror.

But nothing could change her fate.

Soon, Machi, struggling and even casting various spells at Lid, which had no effect, was pulled into the air.

Finally, Lid opened her mouth and swallowed her whole.

The Dark Elf’s screams ceased.

Lid closed her mouth, her body shrinking rapidly, returning to its original form. The trees and debris that had been sucked into the air fell back to the ground, creating a series of thuds and kicking up dust.

The battle was over.

Airi and Millu returned to Lid’s side.

“Let’s go back,” Airi said, as if their mission wasn’t over yet.

“Okay!” Millu nodded repeatedly.

“Let’s go.”

Lid also knew that the main event was about to begin.

The three transformed into streams of light and flew towards the Elven Homeland.

Only the battlefield remained, devastated and in ruins.

Gradually, the evil aura began to dissipate.

In the forest, countless monsters regained their senses, wandering around in confusion.
