Chapter 1316 - 1316: A Titanic Shadow
Arad looked at the shadow drakaina for a few seconds, thinking about what Doma told him. She is like Lydia, which means having an indomitable will and the personality of an explosive landmine. Step on her the wrong way, and she’ll explode in your face.
“Why are you naked?” Arad asked as he tilted his head, and the drakaina looked a bit confused. “I’ll ask you the same thing. Why are you wearing clothes? We dragons never wear them. Nothing best our scales.”
Eris approached from behind him and glared at the drakaina, “She can use my clothes for now. I wouldn’t want her running around with those things flinging around.”
The drakaina looked at Eris with a smile. All she could see was a dark silhouette of shadows and magic, rumbling, purple draconic magic. “Now, where did she come from? Such a powerful shadow.”
“She is Eris, one of my wives. A Purple Drakaina, they are also known as Plasma Dragons.” Arad looked at Eris with a smile. “She might not be the oldest, but she is one of the most powerful ones.”
“Who are you calling a shadow?” Eris tilted her head and then looked at Arad, only for him to explain what the situation was.
Eris was surprised to hear about the drakaina’s situation. She couldn’t even imagine what a world populated only by shadows would look like. Colorless and bland, cold and lifeless. But the drakaina had other things on her mind.
“So the shadows are helping your madness, I see.” She glared at Eris and then back at Arad, “Are you really believing their lies? They are using you, washing your mind.”
^{Arad, keep an eye on her. For all she knows, Eris and everyone else are shadows brainwashing you into believing that they are real people. She might try to kill them to save you.}^
“Don’t even think of attacking her. I told you that you’re the one with the problem. The world is still well and alive. All we need to do is find a way to cure you.” Arad waved his arm, putting it between Eris and the drakaina.
The drakaina frowned, rubbing the back of her head, “I guess. This is going to be hard.”
The drakaina couldn’t think of an easy way to cure Arad. Killing all the shadows in the world would bring him back to his senses, but that is impossible for her. Even Eris, who stood before her, was powerful enough to cause her a problem. She could only imagine Arad’s other wives being just as powerful.
“Not hard. You aren’t going to even try harming them.” Arad glared at her. While he can trust Eris or Gamond to put the shadow drakaina in her place, if she were to attack Mira or Isdis, he might end up forced to kill her.
Doma had compared the shadow drakaina to Lydia, which was horrifying. As Doma said, he must keep a close eye on her.
“Who is your strongest wife? I want to fight her.” The drakaina glared at Arad and then shifted her gaze to Eris. “I’m not going to sit beneath mere shadows. Is she the one?”
Eris burst out laughing, “Me? The strongest? Stop joking. The strongest of us can beat everyone else, including Arad, and still have energy to spare.” She was, of course, talking about Kali, the Primordial Demon Goddess of Destruction and the patron of Orphans.
The drakaina looked both surprised and horrified. At first, she thought that Arad survived because most of the living shadows weren’t stronger than him, but she was wrong.
“You mean you aren’t the dominant one?” She asked, and Arad shook his head, “I’m the one responsible and the dominant. Kali is her name. She is stronger than me. But isn’t interested in such things.”
The drakaina looked at him for a while and then smiled. She finally found out the evil shadow behind Arad’s brainwashing. That shadow is called Kali. She’ll find and kill her to free him.
“This Kali! Can I see her?” She just wanted to have a look and see how strong she needed to become to kill her. She might need to become a great wyrm, but that shouldn’t be that far away with all of those shadows to consume.
Arad waved his hand and created a small void portal. From that portal, a small, pink-haired little girl in a fluffy summer dress jumped out with a cheerful smile. The moment her bare foot landed on the ground and her shadow formed, the shadow drakaina froze in place.
The shadow drakaina’s face paled. Her eyes opened wide, and her teeth started to crack. The fine hair on her back stood, and she almost pissed herself. The great shadow that just emerged was masquerading as the silhouette of a little girl- but was nothing even close.
She could see it, the godly figure of a dark statue bigger than the world itself with billions of arms and legs, each holding an incomprehensible weapon of mass destruction. Even one of the statue’s toes was so massive that she couldn’t even see its end and beginning at the same time.
Arad pointed at the shadow drakaina and spoke in an even tone, “She wanted to fight the strongest wife.”
Kali shifted her gaze to the drakaina, causing the woman to flinch. “Okay!” Kali lifted her fist up with a cheerful jump, clumsily landed on her feet, then opened her palm.
The shadow drakaina saw one of the statue’s incomprehensible arms move, lift up, ready to drop on her head. Such a hit won’t just kill her- It might even blow the whole world apart. Just one of the fingers started far beyond the western horizon and faded over the dawning sun in the east.
“Kali’s Chop!” Kali swung her tiny arm down, and the statue’s massive arm dropped with such speed and energy that the shadow drakaina almost died just from feeling the great shadow move above her. They were in a cave, but she could feel the arm as clearly as if she were on the surface.
Kali stopped her attack before it could hit anything. The shadow drakaina had already passed out from the sight of such a great attack coming down on her. She didn’t lose from damage but from pure shock.
Kali looked at her hand for a second and turned back at Arad, “Was that enough?”
“Did you need to scare her like that?” He sighed, and Kali nodded with a happy smile.
“She was thinking of killing me after all. I scared her so she won’t get any funny ideas any time soon.” She then jumped and sat on Arad’s lap.
“I thought you’d come in the destruction form since I called you to fight,” Arad asked with a smile, and she giggled.
“This form is enough to deal with anything in this world, and besides, many gnomes were orphaned around here, and I need to use my blessing to make sure they stay alive and not starve until we get them to a safe place.” She looked back, “They are dragon minions, meaning they lived under the rule of a dragon for decades, maybe even centuries. You can take them to serve in your lair, as that would be easier than trying to reintegrate them into society.” She looked up, “Their children might leave the nest and carve a piece of the world for themselves, but the parents are already used to their lifestyle. Gnomes are all about their habits.”
