Chapter 1445: Just an Idea
Chapter 1445: Just an Idea
Arad blinked twice and then reached into his stomach and pulled one of the angels that now served Eris. The angel looked at him for a moment, bowed, and then looked around. “Is something wrong?” She didn’t fail to notice the mountain of divine energy that is Mathilde.
“She just said that the halo is an angel’s real body.” Arad looked closer at the angel’s halo, and Mathilde was right. The halo was the real angel, and the body beneath was just a projection. The only reason angels go down when their projected body dies is that they don’t have enough divine magic to recreate it.
This means the way to fight weaker angels is to aim for the halo.
The angel looked at her halo for a long moment and then tilted her head, “You didn’t know?”
Everyone but Mathilde shook their heads. Not that many people get to meet angels every day, and very few get a chance to get to know them well.
“I see…” Arad started mumbling, “A soul can project itself into reality to form a body. No, the divine power of a god can translate the projection of a soul to conjure a body.”
“What are you talking about?” Merida asked, and Arad took a long moment to reply.
“It is about Tina, maybe, instead of trying to repair her soul, I can just find a way to do the same and turn her into an angel.”
The angel he brought looked at him with a confused face. “You mean Lady Tina? Her soul is quite peculiar, a lump of shattered shards. I have never seen someone like that. I can’t even believe she is still alive.”
Mathilde looked at Arad and then at the angel, “That soul, are the shards rough, or are they akin to specs of light?”
“Rough, like shattered glass pressed into a sphere.”
Mathilde thought the same as the angel. Tina should’ve already died; her soul should’ve fallen apart ages ago. But, there are only two people in the universe who can prevent that, to an extent.
The first was AO, Arad himself. If he could regain his full power, both repairing that soul or making it possible for her to live like that shouldn’t be a problem. If he says that her soul can exist in the world, it’ll exist.
The other person was Adam, the first human that AO created in his image. Right now, he goes by the name Chad, the human god. Like his father, he can bend the universe to his will, but to a lesser extent.
Arad can’t use his power, and she had no idea that Chad had ever tried to help the woman called Tina. So that leaves Mathilde with one last guess. Tina might’ve survived till now just because the universe itself didn’t want to get on AO’s bad side.
The universe was known to exert its will from time to time, but it was never known to interfere directly like that. Most of the time, it’ll be just things like not allowing a god to destroy something cosmic, like not allowing Amaterasu to turn off all of her suns at once, or making sure that exceeding the speed of light is physically impossible.
If the universe is the one keeping Tina alive, then it must’ve had a reason, deducing that something bad will happen if she dies.
“I’ll leave that information with someone, for now, let’s keep going. You’re just going to teleport us there, so we can get this done with really quickly.”
Now that Arad had an idea, he really wanted to finish everything here quickly and get back to Sena to test his theory and see if turning Tina into a divine angel is a possibility.
Mathilde shook her head, “Sorry, but I can’t teleport you all there. As you should know, space is distorted around here. If teleportation were possible, her divinity Sylph would’ve teleported you right to her palace.”
Dendron sighed, “This is where I leave you all. My job is to protect the trunk, so I shouldn’t leave my post. As long as you don’t get on Mathilde’s bad side, she should treat you well.”
She waved her hand to everyone, but before she could leave, Cerilla asked, pointing at Mathilde with her thumb. “And what if she got angry? What should we do?”
Dendron looked at her, burst laughing, and then looked at Mathilde. “That’s right, she can be quite moody. Since she is an elvish angel, you might think that sucking on her toes would calm her down, but that would only make her angrier. Just give her something sweet and she’ll calm down.”
Dendron then left before Mathilde could catch her with a kick.
“So we’re traveling with an angel now.” Dalla pulled out a pen and paper, recording the events of their trip in the same way the previous expeditions did.
“Yes. I’ll take you all the way to her divine palace. I just got informed that the Dark Elf goddess Elis had arrived there to wait for Jasmine’s arrival. And, her, the drakaina Grace.” Mahilde’s eyes stopped at Grace.
“What? Me?” Grace gasped, but quickly remembered that Arad told her it was the Dark Elf goddess who tipped him off to finding her.
“She wants to give you something. Something that belongs to you.” She then turned toward Dalla.
“Master Dalla, I won’t be present for any of the future king’s trips. My deployment today was just for the occasion.”
Dalla looked at her with a frown. “First, why are you calling me Master? And what occasion, don’t you come each time to pick up the king?”
“Master Dalla, I call you Master because you’re the one who taught Arad how to fight with his hands, how to slap. And I wish to learn that art from you.” She bowed, “But, as I said, I won’t be the one picking the future kings. I only came here because of Lord Arad’s presence.”
“You want… to learn from me?” Dalla froze, and Mathilde nodded.
“Arad showed me the extent of what your martial powers can achieve. It is indeed one of the finest arts I’ve seen, and I’ve fought millions of deadly fighters.”
