Chapter 1502: Iron Dust

Chapter 1502: Iron Dust

“You flew away, but that wasn’t flight magic.” Claug looked at Denki with a large smile, “What trick did you use? And what’s that black dust around you?”

Denki looked back at her, and the dust around her started moving strangely, following the crackles of lightning illuminating her hair. She wiped the blood from her lips, looked at her hands, and then clenched two fists.

As the sky flashed with lightning, Claug charged forward, dodging the rain of lightning bolts with ease. She could tell where Denki’s magic started and get out of the way before the lightning could even form.

Power wasn’t the only thing that gets better when dragons grow older; their senses, magic, and even gut instincts grow sharper.

Denki was just too young to contend with Claug’s reaction speed and quick thinking.

In the blink of an eye, she had run through the blinding field of lightning and was swinging her fist at Denki’s face, confident that she would hit her this time. Not even adult dragons could dodge her first attack before, yet this young adult drakaina had survived this far. Even if she doesn’t land a single hit, she has already lasted longer than many.

But what Claug didn’t expect was that this drakaina wasn’t fighting for survival, but she was fighting to win. The arrogance of dragons, all of them have it, and from Denki’s side, it seemed foolish to try to defeat Claug.

The black dust swirled and caught Claug’s fist, blocking her attack. At first, Claug was shocked that the strange dust managed to block her fist; it felt as solid as steel. But she then quickly pulled her hand away, feeling something sharp and painful rip her scales apart and slip into her wrist.

“This…” Claug jumped away with a frown, and she then smiled, “Iron dust, and…” She looked at her hand, and the veins were already changing color. “You forced a handful into my veins.”

Claug didn’t need Denki to explain anything to her; she had already figured out how this drakaina was planning to fight. She can’t beat Claug with magic or in physical combat, so she was going to use several tricks.

Denki was using the magnetic field generated by her lightning to pry the iron from the ground and pull it out. Arad must’ve picked this massive piece of debris because of that; she was giving her an edge in this unfair fight.

If she carefully controlled the current of her lightning magic, she could move the iron dust however she liked. These countless, tiny, sharp blades of raw iron moved and rubbed against each other at high speed, turning into what resembled a chainsaw, tearing through anything they touch.

When Claug’s fist touched the flowing iron dust, the blades slipped beneath her scales and tore at her skin like teeth, making their way to her veins and soaking in.

Right now, Claug’s whole right arm was filled to the brim with iron dust, her veins clogged, and her muscles forced to stop.

What’s more, Claug could now feel the force of Denki’s magnetic field pulling on the iron in her arm. She was trying to rip it off. So while Denki herself doesn’t have enough physical strength to tear Claug’s arm, her lightning can generate a strong enough magnetic field to do it for her.

Claug smiled and lifted her arm, flexing it. “So? Think this hand is dead now?” She flicked her arm down with enough force that the clotted blood and iron burst out of her veins, splashing all over the ground. The wounds then started steaming and healing rapidly, an effect of whatever medicines or poisons she had flowing through her veins.

Denki frowned. She knew that green dragons were masters of alchemy and poisons, but she didn’t expect them to be able to do this fast. But, this was Claug, her fame surpassed many dragons.

The iron dust swirled around Denki’s body as she smiled, “I’m not counting on that to work.” In a second, her whole body was covered with a rattling armor of moving iron dust, engulfed in blinding lightning.

She lifted her hand up and formed a chainsaw sword from the iron dust, then pointed it at Claug.

With that armor, Denki hoped to force some of her iron into Claug’s body with each clash and slowly wear her down. Now all she needed to do was survive long enough.

The two flashed across the battlefield, and the real battle started. Denki wasn’t fighting with her body alone; she applied several tentacles of iron dust, flying blades, and even moving clouds of dust that ripped anything they went past in seconds.

Claug, on the other hand, danced between her attacks with grace, putting more and more pressure on Denki with each punch, making sure to remind her each time that one direct hit would send her to the grave.

Even though Denki held the advantage for a while, she never stopped feeling a bit of fear, because she knew better than anyone that Claug was just toying with her.

Arad might’ve helped her by choosing this massive rock with a lot of iron, but even Claug herself was not going all out. This wasn’t an execution or a beatdown; they simply wanted to push her to her limits and see what she was made of.

Denki would’ve complained, but remembering how Arad and Azorn’s fight almost killed her, she couldn’t help but think that living anywhere near Arad was going to be a deadly affair, which explained why she needed to test her strength against someone so powerful like Claug.

But soon, Claug started making this a bit harder, because Denki started to feel her limbs going numb. For a while now, Claug had been discharging poison into the air, slowly weakening her.

After almost a minute, Denki fell on her face, paralyzed and unable to move a limb.

Claug landed nearby, “So? You like it? My sweat evaporates quickly, and I can exchange with any combination of poisons.

This one is a neurotoxin that paralyzes all of the muscles, except the heart and lungs.

But the moment Claug got closer, the storm of iron dust and lightning attacked her. Even though Denki was paralyzed, she still could control her magic and was willing to keep fighting.

Claug charged right through the storm and swung her foot at Denki, trying to send her flying and knock her out, but Denki’s body was pulled away at the last second, saved by her iron and magnetic fields.

“No wonder Tiamat chose you. I doubt many blue dragons can do that.” Claug laughed and chased her.

Denki managed to survive for a few more seconds, but then, something strange happened. All of her magic started to fall apart, and she crashed onto the ground.

“Now, the poison had reached the nerves controlling your fundamentum. All of your magic would rapidly grow weaker and weaker.” Claug looked at Denki, who now sprawled on the ground, face-first, looking more like a corpse than a living being.

Denki tried to cast her magic again, but only small sparks emerged from her back, not even powerful enough to hurt a human. A kid could literally stomp her to death now.

“ARAD! The fight is over; she can’t lift a finger. No one can once I paralyze them. I can inject her with a poison that digests her organs if you want.”

Arad smiled in the back, “Are you sure about that?”

Claug froze and slowly turned back as she heard a faint rustle. Denki was moving, trying to push on the ground with her hands, moving even though Claug was sure she shouldn’t be able to for hours.

“Are you a monster?” Claug gasped.
