The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2386: The limit of the Third Realm

Chapter 2386: The limit of the Third Realm

The purple cannon fell from the sky like cosmic death itself—only to vanish into the Scarlet King’s left eye.

Silence descended upon the dark city.

The two remaining Curse Eaters stood frozen, overwhelmed by shock. Logic told them that their attack could simply not vanish like that, but their eyes were not lying to them.

Then a small burst echoed through the ruins as Cain’s left eye exploded in a spray of blood, followed a heartbeat later by his right. The sudden destruction sent a thrill of grim satisfaction through their minds.

But before either of them could rejoice, a wide smile spread across the blood-soaked face of the Scarlet King.

He had succeeded.

Bako’s eyes widened as he felt the power he had unleashed reappear directly in front of his chest. The redirected energy detonated violently, erupting into a massive blast of raw force that engulfed his entire figure and flooded the dark city with searing color.

Sozing stared at the artificial sun in utter horror.

Then, in the very next second, a phantom figure emerged from the explosion.

It flashed straight into Sozing’s body.

Power surged through him. His form was forcibly reinforced, a blade forming along his right wrist as glowing purple blood vessels spread across his entire body. The Immortal Knight of the Tenth Empyrean World staggered, sadness and pain twisting his expression.

Another part of him had perished.

Unfortunately for Sozing, there was no time to mourn.

The gravitational anchor restraining Cain finally shattered, and the Scarlet King rose slowly from the ground. Both his eyes were closed, blood streaming down his face, yet the Eye of Gluttony remained active, its devouring gaze focused solely on Sozing.

The sight was truly terrifying.

Cain ignored the blood coating his features and began walking forward, step by step, while the artificial sun continued to burn above the ruined city.

"So when one of you sacrifices themselves," Cain said calmly, "they can grant you a temporary boost in power—even if they do it at death’s door. That is important to know."

There was no pity or mercy in his voice as he addressed the Immortal Knight.

The Tenth Empyrean World and the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe were enemies. Cain would never hesitate to kill anyone who came from that place, and if the opportunity presented itself, he would burn it all until nothing remained but ashes.

Sozing took a deep breath and clenched his fists. The glowing purple blood vessels pulsed with power as he locked eyes with the approaching Scarlet King.

Lightning arcs erupted across the dark city as their auras collided again and again, growing more intense with every heartbeat.

Then they vanished.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!"

The moment their fists collided, the entire city trembled violently. Buildings collapsed in waves, unable to withstand the overwhelming power unleashed by the two combatants. Fists and legs moved at truly shocking speeds, repulsive waves and sundering arcs exploding in all directions.

A deep gash tore across Sozing’s chest.

He endured the pain and slammed his palm against Cain’s chest, releasing a devastating shockwave. Blood erupted from the Scarlet King’s mouth as his internal organs trembled under the force, but he remained standing, grinding his teeth as he countered with a ferocious strike aimed straight at Sozing’s face.

At the last instant, the Curse Eater caught the punch with his open palm.

The energy contained within it was neutralized.

Sozing’s eyes turned cold as he lifted the Scarlet King into the air and slammed him into the ground with brutal force. He followed immediately with a powerful kick that sent the Scarlet King crashing through broken buildings, blasting through several structures before finally skidding to a halt.

Cain clenched his teeth as he felt bones crack within his body.

"Damn it," he thought. "His power and adaptation have increased exponentially after that last fusion. His strength and speed are greater than mine."

Although Cain had maintained a stoic demeanor throughout the battle, the Curse Eater’s strength was truly extraordinary—on par with his hybrid race at full power in the Crimson World.

There was no time to dwell on it.

Sozing appeared directly above him, his open palm aimed downward as it released a repulsion wave of unfathomable might. The entire area sank inward, Cain at its center, forming a massive cavity that looked capable of holding a falling meteor.

Sozing’s eyes burned with conviction.

He angled his blade arm downward and dove into the crater an instant later, carrying momentum powerful enough to pierce through a world itself.

Just as the Immortal Knight was about to land the killing blow, he heard two words.

"Fifteen Gear."

In that instant, the Scarlet King vanished.

Before Sozing could complete his descent, an impact struck his back with such force it felt as though his spine would shatter. That was only the beginning.

Before he could regain control, another blow landed, hurling him upward. Then, just as he neared the limit of the dome, he was blasted downward once more.

The purple blood vessels across Sozing’s body pulsed violently, forcing his adaptive abilities to their limits as they struggled to comprehend what was happening. He was thrown from one direction to another, unable to stabilize himself.

Finally, his eyes adapted.

He saw Cain.

The Scarlet King’s body was vibrating at a terrifying frequency, his form blurring intermittently as though his atoms were barely enduring the acceleration. The air screamed around him, catching on fire, distorted by speed and force.

"This technique is pushing his body to the absolute limit of the Third Realm," Sozing realized grimly. "Something he cannot maintain for long."

Sozing clenched his teeth and attempted to resist.

Then Cain grabbed him from behind.

With apocalyptic speed and momentum, the Scarlet King drove Sozing straight into the ground. The Immortal Knight struggled to break free, but it was useless.

The two of them crashed into the ground with power so immense it seemed capable of punching a hole clean through the dark city itself.
