The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1000: The Puppet Legion

Chapter 1000: The Puppet Legion

[58 Days Before the Awakening]

“The Bronze grade demon spirits are merely the weakest of demon spirits.” A smug look appeared on Nadia’s face, causing Klaus to raise his brow.

“I know you are already aware my puppets grow with me and can even grow past me.” Klaus nodded.

“The 68 puppets you saw out there are all at the peak of the Ascension stage.”

Klaus didn’t seem too shocked about that. He had already seen the puppets Nadia brought to the meeting and knew they were at the Ascension stage.

Of course, if this were before he saw Asha’s 10,000 Ascension stage insect legions, he would have been shocked by this discovery.

But even so, this wasn’t something he could look down on, for having 68 peak Ascension stage puppets was something his 7th incarnation would have cherished.

So Klaus was pleased. ‘At least now, no matter what happens, knowing she had 68 powerful puppets protecting her, I wouldn’t worry much’

Klaus smiled, but after hearing what Nadia said next, his expression changed to a shocked state yet again.

“All 68 of them were merely Void stage puppets I was planning on putting in the Puppet Upgrading Chamber before I put the demon spirits in them.”

“Run it back and start with the Puppet Upgrading Chamber.” Klaus heard something new, and thus he wanted to know more.

Nadia nodded and continued, “The Puppet Upgrading Chamber is merely to upgrade weak puppets to higher stages. It requires external materials, which I don’t lack, and then time.

Naturally, all my Sovereign stage up to the Ascendant stage puppets were all placed in the Puppet Upgrading Chamber and are currently undergoing the upgrade.”

Klaus nodded. “It will be a shame if weak puppets become useless in the future.”

“Indeed. However, the 68 puppets were a few weeks ago Void stage puppets. However, after putting the Bronze grade demon spirits in them, they became Ascension stage puppet warriors.

This means that, although the Bronze grade demon spirits aren’t much, they can take a mere Void stage puppet to the Ascension stage. And the best part is that whenever I break through, they will also rise by one stage.

However, the downside is, they can only rise by three stages, meaning after this Ascension stage, they can only rise by three stages, and their limit will be reached.”

“So let me get this straight. The Void stage puppets became Ascension stage puppets right off the bat, and now that you are at the Ascension stage, I assume you reached that stage before putting the demon spirits in them.”

Nadia nodded.

“Meaning they grow with you. In other words, the Bronze grade demon spirits grow with you.”

Nadia nodded again. “The moment I reach the Nether stage, Bronze puppet warriors will also reach that stage, and they will all be at the peak even if I am merely at the level 1 Nether stage.”

And this was the shock Klaus and Asha were waiting for. But it didn’t end there.

“However, if my puppets were to battle and naturally absorb Soul Essence from their kills, then the chances of them breaking through to the Nether stage while I am merely at the Ascension stage are high.”

In Asha’s case, all of her insects could cultivate normally, and her breakthrough wasn’t crucial for their progress. Of course, if Asha were to reach the Demi-God stage, she would have more power to provide powerful resources to upgrade her insects.

Aside from that, she could even get more Queens. However, her becoming a Demi-God wouldn’t make her insects also Demi-Gods.

But in Nadia’s case, although her Bronze grade puppets only had three more stages to rise, the moment she advanced to the next stage, they would also advance.

“The greed in me can’t help but ask. If the Bronze puppets were to use up the three stages ahead of them, can they continue to grow on their own?”

Nadia smiled and shook her head before answering, “No. They will stagnate at the third stage forever.”

[She is telling the truth, brat. This was something I learned from that person years ago. However, there is a cure, or at least that was what your blood is meant to do.]

‘You think my blood can break that limit?’ Klaus asked, and the senior answered, though his answer was experimental.

“How about my blood? Can it have any effect on them?” Klaus asked, and Nadia raised her brow.

“I haven’t considered it yet, but there is no harm in trying. But before that, we have to go to the second level, where the Silver grade demon spirits are.”

“Nadia, I have to say, your potential as a Puppet Queen is terrifying. But I still have more powerful warriors than you. Also, while your puppets grow with you, until you reach the Nether stage, you will only have 68 Ascension stage puppet demons.” Asha didn’t want to lose, so she made sure Nadia understood that.

Nadia smiled and shook her head, “For now, maybe. But wait until you meet my trump card.”

“Even so, the moment my Death Agents come out of their cocoon, your puppets will look like bugs before them.”

Nadia shrugged but didn’t reply to Asha. She knew that showing is better than saying. Asha had already shown her force, and now, it was her turn to shine.

Klaus stood behind, looking at his two wives with a smile on his face. Though the rivalry was harmless, he couldn’t help but wonder what would become of them when they someday became gods.

‘Would they have thousands of gods as their subordinates?’ Klaus swallowed his words, not wanting to look too far into the future.

Nadia still had over a hundred Bronze demon spirits yet to possess her puppets, but Klaus knew that using them would depend on Nadia’s soul strength. So, using just 68 might be the limit she had set for herself.

Though the Puppet Demons don’t need too much of her soul, having 68 Ascension stage puppet demons isn’t exactly child’s play.

A few seconds later, they arrived at the second level, where again, there were hundreds of tubes housing demon spirits. Twenty-six were empty, meaning Nadia had used them.

However, aside from the 26 empty tubes, there was another empty one with a white light instead of silver. Klaus didn’t say anything because he knew Nadia would reveal everything soon enough.

Nadia looked at Asha, showing a smug expression, “You probably are wondering, if there are 27 empty tube chambers, does that mean Nadia has 27 Nether stage Demon Puppet warriors?”

Nadia laughed, “The answer is yes, and they all are at the peak of the Nether stage.”

Asha looked at Nadia and smirked, “You are too annoying.” Knowing she would lose when it came to the overall strength of warriors, she merely stopped paying attention to Nadia.

Klaus brushed her hair with his hand and kissed her forehead, “No need to look defeated, Asha. As the saying goes, there is strength in numbers. You have the numbers, so take that win and let Nadia take hers.”

Asha stared into Klaus’s eyes for a few seconds and nodded. She turned to Nadia, “Fine. It is your win, but you should know that because of your win this time, I will do everything in my power to surpass you soon.”

“I look forward to that, but until you can defy the heavens and create Angel Insects, defeating my demon puppets is but a pipe dream… and oh, I also have an Angel Puppet.”

“Say what now…?”
