Chapter 3485: Piercing Barriers
Chapter 3485: Piercing Barriers
The atmosphere in the Continent of Kiriket shifted faintly.
It grew more tense.
More heavy.
The political tensions in the air between different factions and different parts of the continent were higher than they had ever been; one could almost cut the taut, suffocating atmosphere with a knife.
Perhaps people could sense the impending storm that was about to unfold within the nation. Perhaps people could feel the heightening nerves that grew more and more intense with each passing day, but the air on the continent continued darkening.
Part of it was definitely the anomaly that had confounded many clans within the continent. Many couldn’t help but wonder just what kind of entity could evade even their surveillance and infiltrate Kiriket of all places from the outside. If one entity harbored such power, then it was entirely possible for other forces to do so as well. The incredible security of the continent that they took for granted was now starting to come undone.
The higher-ups in the clans across the continent had implemented an information blackout on the topic, but too many people in the lower ranks had seen it, spreading news about it everywhere like wildfire.
Not a single person who learned about it could come to the conclusion that the anomaly that had infiltrated their continent was nothing short of hostile and malicious towards them.
They weren’t entirely wrong.
While Rui did not bear any malice towards the average people of the therianthrope population, he did intend to enact a plan that would bring about great suffering for them. All for the sake of killing the Dragon Emperor and protecting the future of the Panama Continent, the harmonious Lord Vakratunda took over the power vacuum that the Dragon Emperor was destined to leave behind.
It wasn’t even something that brought him a lot of guilt. While he would never go out of his way to harm the average person, ever since he became a Martial Sage, the power gap between himself and the common man was so astronomically titanic that he truly couldn’t help but sometimes see them as insects.
The tilt towards psychopathy was exacerbated by the power differential brought by the Sage Realm. It was compensated only by the Enlightenment of Self that allowed him to ensure that he could counterweight it with healthy relations with the average person, which allowed him to ensure that he maintained his humanity, but it couldn’t change the way he thought about people, and how significant their lives were.
To this day, he hadn’t given a second thought to all the people in the Gu that had been genocided by his Martial Embodiment. It was unfortunate and tragic; he would have liked to have helped them if possible, but he had no choice but to use Gigabrain when his life was on the line against Demon of Asmodeous, and that was more than enough to get rid of all guilt he might have had otherwise. The incident hadn’t even left a mark on him; it simply became entirely irrelevant as far as he was concerned.
The same would be true for the suffering that was soon about to ensue in the Kiriket Continent.
Over the next five days, Rui honed his proficiency with the negatron particle to the very best of his ability. He harnessed it, understanding how it worked on an intuitive level, helping him comprehend what the particle was even capable of so that he could use it to the best of what was possible in such a timeframe.
His biggest goal was to simply ensure that his success rate with teleportations was high enough that he wouldn’t fail when he needed it the most. Mastering aim was harder than he thought. It worked well in the Panama Continent because his intimate familiarity with the land greatly helped. He had mapped much of it to an extent in his Mind Palace and could aim more effectively.
On the Continent of Kiriket, his precision was off.
The negatrons made opening a wormhole far easier than it would normally be, allowing him to overcome spatial anchors that made it impossible to teleport to a location. With the power of negatron matter and elven teleportation technology, he had the tools that he needed to teleport to his opponent’s location.
Five days was all it took.
With his immensely powerful conscious and subconscious mind working side by side, he was able to achieve a mechanism through which he could consistently use the negatron matter to teleport. He didn’t have any muscle memory with it since it had only been five days, but he had enough of it to at least not have a high degree of failure. By the fifth day, he had reached a level where failure was not common as long as he put his mind to the task, which was, of course, a very low standard, but manageable for his current needs.
“Huff…” Rui heaved a deep breath as he stood within a forest.
His eyes were closed while his expression was intense, immersed in his concentration.
The air around him grew heavy.
Intense.
RUMBLE…
The world shook as he activated his Realms of power, deploying them to create powerful high-density regions of energy around him that warped the very fabric of space and created gravitational waves that Rui could constructively superimpose to create virtually any kind of resultant gravitational force he desired.
He used to strain the very fabric of space at an infinitesimally small point within his body, within a cluster of negatron matter.
The dark energy of the negatron matter pushed open space along with him, tearing open a much deeper hole in reality than Rui could otherwise have, connecting it to a distant point.
WHOOSH!
In the blink of an eye, he teleported away, arriving within a familiar giant tusk-like structure, gazing at a distinct person seated on his throne.
“Hm…” Lord Vakratunda turned towards Rui with a curious expression as he popped a modak into his body. “Miraculous indeed, it seems you have managed to crack space anchors. If you can penetrate the one protecting this structure, then you can definitely penetrate the one protecting the Dragon Emperor.”
