Chapter 3542: Gravitational Disparity

Chapter 3542: Gravitational Disparity

“Esteemed colleagues of mine, I am honored by the opportunity to address all of you officially in the International Institution of Geophysics and during this momentous occasion in our history. I revel at the opportunity to share my insights into how it may explain one of the greatest mysteries of our world.”

In a large conference, countless projections of people were gathered in a giant conference hall, spacious enough to accommodate all of them and more. The isolated environment was illuminated by ceiling lights that uniformly lit up every inch of the entire hall, allowing the projected participants to get a good view of the speaker standing at the stand upon the podium.

It was none other than the Esoterist himself.

His projection smiled with excitement as he gazed at the gathered men and women with a curious gaze.

They were not only composed of members of the six species, but also many hybrid species. A commonality of attire among them all was lab coats, indicating their field of pursuits.

“Scientists of the true world,” the Esoterist continued with a momentous tone. “I believe that we have found the solution to the mystery of this great planet’s gravity.”

Behind him, the projector displayed an image of Gaia from one of his satellites, along with a rather accurate estimate of the mass of the planet, along with other calculations such as gravitational acceleration.

“We all know that the gravitational field exerted by this planet is not commensurate with its mass,” he declared. “Based on even a classical force conceptualization of gravity, all estimates of how much gravity a planet of this mass must have have always conflicted with a much lower gravitational pull in reality. The disparity is so astronomical, in fact, that my friend, the Astromind, failed many times in his attempt to launch rockets to other planets due to underestimating the gravity on those planets based on the gravity of our planet. To this day, I will not let him forget about that.”

A wave of chuckles passed through the many scientists of the true world while the Astromind, also among the crowd as a projection, simply huffed.

“However, his experiences highlight just how divergent our world may be from many other planets,” the Esoterist remarked. “Based on all of our calculations, we all agree that the gravitational pull of this planet is off by more than an order of magnitude. For some reason, our planet has exceptionally weak gravity for its mass, something that has mystified me and all of you our entire lives.”

The screen shifted behind him, displaying a list of theories and hypotheses. “Over the past many years, scientists in both our continents. and the true world has researched the phenomenon to search for the reason why such an obvious violation of the laws of physics occurs, and a number of hypotheses have been put forth, such as ’Hollow Gaia Theory,’ and ’gravitationally Insulating Crust Theory.’ Naturally… I think we can all safely say that these theories were dead wrong with the evidence that we now have.”

BZZZT

The screen shifted, featuring a model of Gaia displaying its cross-section.

The crust, the mantle, the outer core, and the inner core.

Except, the inner core, which should have been composed of lava, was composed of a black sphere.

“Allow me to present the Negatron Core Theory.”

The Esoterist’s voice boomed across the conference hall with confidence.

“This theory states that the core of the planet is composed of negatrons that attract each other in a ball and repel all positive matter.”

The air grew charged with anticipation as many scientists lit up at those words, eager to listen to more about what he had to say. Just twelve hours prior, the Esoterist had published a paper titled just that in the Gaian Journal of Science.

The paper was as simple as it was revolutionary, very calmly using the emergence of negatron matter from lava emerging from the core as the basis for his hypothesis, while using the disparity in gravitational acceleration to calculate just how negatron matter there was within the depths of the core.

It had shaken the world, even if others had conceived of this idea. He was the most knowledgeable man when it came to negatron matter and the authority on all things esoteric.

“This is the only realistic solution to the disparity of gravity that we experience,” the Esoterist calmly informed them. “We can be highly certain that there is a planet’s worth of negatron matter deep within Gaia, at her very core.”

The excitement in his eyes behind his visor was palpable.

“Enough negatron matter to traverse the universe like a walk across the street.”

A wave of bewildered murmurs washed across the scientists in the audience as the air tingled with their shock.

Words could not begin to describe just how unfathomably revolutionary this change was. It was a drastic shift in their understanding of the planet, and completely changed how they thought of the world.

No longer was Gaia just a large rock; it was a container for a priceless resource that made all life on the planet sustainable.

“Without the negatron matter, our planet would have likely become a red dwarf star,” the Esoterist continued. “The mass of this planet exceeds the gravitational limit to the mass of heavenly bodies before which the pressure in their cores is enough to generate nuclear fusion. This pressure is astronomically reduced by the negatron core, which repels normal matter instead of attracting it, allowing Gaia to remain a planet despite its mass. It likely also causes lower density and increases the volume of the planet, which might explain other strange phenomena that we have observed, such as geophysical expansion.”

It was a well-known fact that the planet was once much smaller and had expanded, as evidenced by geological indications. It was possible that this expansion was caused by a constant increase in the amount of negatron matter within the depths of the planet over a span of many eons, moving at a pace too difficult to notice by naked eye or even the finest of sensors.
