The Primordial Record

Chapter 1658: Thirst... Rise

Chapter 1658: Thirst… Rise

Upon bringing out this shard, the gathering fell into a deep silence as they all focused their senses on what Primordial Time was holding, and then with a solemn look on all their faces, they sat back, the air of menace around them subsiding, a subtle agreement passing between them that Primordial Time was welcomed.

Primordial Time looked around, his cube-shaped eyes glinting from the firelight, and then he tossed the soul shard into the flame, but before it could reach it, he made a gesture, and the shard paused mid-air,

“Before I sacrifice this shard, the binding Agreement over my domain must be broken.”

All the heads of the Primordials eerily turned towards Primordial Time as the aura of menace that had vanished returned, and within that aura was one of intense hunger, as all the Primordials began speaking, their voices were combined as if they were a singular entity.

“Time, the only reason for your continual existence, is only to serve as the foundation for this Reality. You were the first to break the balance. You took more than a single concept to the ninth-dimensional level and imposed an unfair advantage by pursuing the future. Your continual existence is still in the balance, do not push your luck pass what we are able to endure, or we shall feast on your dominion for the next ten thousand era.”

Primordial Time gritted his teeth in anger, a thousand words to refute the claims of the rest of the Primordials dying in his heart. As always, he would have to endure; history had always been written by the victorious.

Letting go of the soul shard, the pale crystal zoomed towards the flame, where it hovered in the center of the gathered body parts.

Primordial Light glanced towards Primordial Time, a brief burst of great hunger radiating from his eyes before he reined himself in, and he gestured towards Primordial Life,

“Everything is set, call forth her shade and let us make a new Agreement with our dear sister. Her interference in this matter can no longer be endured.”

Primordial Life nodded, “Leave it to me, although locked behind oblivion, her soul shard should be enough to call her attention, and I can mould a flesh urn that is strong enough to hold her consciousness for a while, but that is all I can do. If she refuses to answer our summons, then I will have to depend on you all to drag her into the light.”

“It does not matter if she agrees or not,” Primordial Light said softly. I am willing to use the strength of half of my dominion to pull her out.”

Primordial Time snickered, whispering to himself, but everyone here heard him,

“Except you are willing to pull from your main core, where else can you get any more strength when your dominion has been compromised?”

Primordial Light smiled, “You forget that I still hold most of your body, including your Throne. How much essence do you think I can squeeze out of it?”

Primordial Life stood up, and a heavy aura radiated from his body. “Enough of this. We have all paid our dues, and this argument serves nothing but to delay the inevitable.”

Standing before the flame, Primordial Life pushed his hands into the flame and began to knead the various pieces of flesh together.

As he continued his grisly work, he would occasionally reach for his side and pull out a piece of bone that he would shape before placing it into the mass of flesh that had begun to writhe and pulse as life began to bloom inside of it.

Veins began to thread themselves through the pulsing mass of flesh like blackened roots, and organs were stitching themselves together under Primordial Life.

Without any indication, the gathered Primordials began to chant, their voices resonating in a discordant hymn that made reality around them warp, and for brief moments, their true form could be seen in the horizon that had turned black under the cover of a storm that erupted out of nowhere.

Any immortal who glimpsed the true form of the Primordials at this time would have perished in body and soul, and this curse would travel through their lineage to kill everyone and everything associated with them.

Primordial Memory stood up and leaned closer to the flame, his neck extending like a snake as he began to whisper echoes of nightmare into the pulsating mass of flesh growing under the nurturing of Primordial Life.

His voice spoke a forgotten language that was strange even to the Primordials here who had forgotten it, but Memory remembered all. These words were carved into the pulsing flesh, binding an identity to the formless.

Primordial Chaos stepped forward, pushing long fingers into the mass of flesh and seizing the bones, where he reshaped the ribs and reforged the spine, and with a sound like grinding continents, the skeleton beneath the flesh pulsed, drinking the ambient malice that had filled the air as the workings of the Primordials became more intense.

Primordial Light and Primordial Demon stood up, and from their hands, they began to weave threads of light and darkness filled with the power of Primordial Essence, spreading it throughout the body in an intricate and glowing pattern.

Under the guidance of their collective hands, blood began to surge beneath the skin of their creation, and a heartbeat like distant war drums began to beat.

Finally, they all stepped back, leaving the glowing form of a woman behind, hovering above the flame. Her features could not be said to be beautiful or ugly; instead, by some careful arrangement unknown to the eyes, her features were pleasing to anyone who saw her, regardless of their race or level of life.

“The final steps are for you,” Primordial Life gestured towards Primordial Time, who slowly stepped forward and placed a hand burning with purple flame on the head of the woman, and he whispered softly,

“I am sorry for disturbing your endless rest. Thirst…. Rise, your presence is needed.”

There was silence for a while, and Primordial Time stopped back before he went on one knee, and held the hand of the woman, as if he were a servant waiting for the return of his lord.

The womanโ€™s eyes suddenly snapped open, void-black because it was missing eyeballs, and then an orange flame lit up within, and she looked around, filled with rage.
