Chapter 1985 A Terrifying Sword Strike

Chapter 1985: A Terrifying Sword Strike Chapter 1985: A Terrifying Sword Strike Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Gadin Jennings’s remnant soul’s eyes were filled with fear and a hint of urgency.  He spoke bluntly, “You’ve already refined six of the eight swords.

You can summon the small swords now—do it!” “There’s no need to rush.

The most important thing is the small sword in your head.

It holds the most powerful sword intent of that mysterious creature, and it’s also the hardest to refine.

Are you really confident enough to take that gamble?” Braydon Neal smiled faintly.

Both of them were like cunning old foxes, fully aware of each other’s hidden intentions.

Braydon understood what was troubling Gadin’s remnant soul.  He feared that Braydon might successfully refine all eight swords.  With the protection of the small sword, Gadin wouldn’t be able to possess Braydon’s body.

Gadin, on the other hand, knew Braydon’s plan.  Clearly, Braydon intended to refine all eight swords.  If Gadin tried to stop him, it would provoke Braydon, triggering the small black sword embedded in Gadin’s heart, potentially destroying his body.

At that moment, both Gadin’s vitality and his suppressed remnant soul would vanish.

They would all be doomed!

Both had their own goals.

Gadin, even more cunning, spoke again.

“Draw out the small sword first.

You can take it and continue refining it.” “I think it’s quite peaceful here, perfect for secluded cultivation.

Besides, I can help suppress the eight swords, ensuring a 100% success rate.

So why are you so reluctant?” Braydon maintained a faint smile, but a cold light flashed in his eyes.

Though Gadin’s remnant soul appeared calm, inwardly he was shaken.  He hadn’t expected Braydon to be so vigilant.  It was clear that Braydon had never trusted him and had quickly sensed something was amiss.

Gadin forced a smile.

“I’ve been suppressed for so long; I’m just impatient.

But you’re right.

With a 100% success rate, there’s no need for me to be anxious.” “Alright, I’ll continue refining the small sword and work on getting you out of here as soon as possible.” Braydon smiled faintly and closed his eyes again.

This time, however, he left a strand of his will in his mind and attached it to a small black sword.

It was the sword he had obtained from Meng He, meant to guard against Gadin’s remnant soul, preventing any moves from him.

Braydon entered the seventh small sword space.

He saw the other side of the sword path.

Throughout the universe, chaotic sword energies flowed in every direction, without order or purpose, as if driven by madness.  Sword energies filled the air, no longer adhering to the proper cultivation path.

There was no pattern, just chaotic, illusory movements.

It dazzled the mind, making it impossible to discern the flow of energy.

Wherever the heart willed, the sword followed.

The cultivation of the sword had transformed into a cultivation of the self, concealing all killing intent.  The sword path had evolved into a method of cultivating the mind.

“This is…” A mysterious figure, standing far away in the dark universe, sighed softly.

“Such comprehension is rare.” The faint praise did not affect Braydon’s understanding of the sword.

After thousands of years, Braydon had mastered the seventh sword.

Why had it taken so long?

The answer was simple.

Braydon’s cultivation was no longer about the sword path or refining the sword for its own sake.  He was cultivating the sword to cultivate himself, focusing on his body and meditating for a thousand years.

Braydon’s state of mind had reached a point of detachment, where everything seemed like dust, and his path heart remained untainted.

When he emerged from seclusion, Gadin’s remnant soul was shocked.  He could sense that Braydon’s state of mind had shifted.

Braydon had comprehended seven of the eight swords.

Only one sword remained.

The last small sword was also the fiercest—it suppressed Gadin’s broken body in the round hole in his forehead.

Braydon took a step forward, and the seven swords jumped up, circling around him.

His consciousness was about to enter the eighth sword.

“Wait!” Gadin’s remnant soul shouted.

“What is it?” Braydon turned slowly, his face calm and his demeanor strangely indifferent, as if he no longer cared about Gadin’s soul.

“You can control seven of the eight swords,” Gadin’s remnant soul said.

“You can capture it without refining the eighth sword.” “Refining the eight swords is my goal.

Are you trying to stop me?” Braydon asked calmly.

“Draw out the small sword.

You can refine it on your own.

I won’t interfere.” Gadin’s remnant soul persisted, unwilling to let Braydon refine all eight swords.

If Braydon controlled all eight swords, how could Gadin possess his body?

The two were now in direct opposition.

If Gadin couldn’t take over the body, he would lose everything.

Both clung to their goals.

But ultimately, Gadin had no control over the situation.

Braydon raised his hand, and a small sword swirled around his fingertip before descending sharply.

Swoosh!

The sword cut down, severing Gadin’s left hand.

The dismembered hand flew towards Braydon, who calmly retrieved the storage ring.

The treasures of Heavenly Court’s treasury were inside.

“Why you!” Gadin was both shocked and furious, never expecting Braydon to dare such an act.

Gadin’s broken body released a terrifying aura, but the small black sword in his head emitted a sword intent that completely suppressed him.

He couldn’t move!

Braydon calmly slipped on the storage ring.  Inside its vast space were mountains of resources, including countless Great Path Primordial Chaos Fruits—items that could push beings to the peak of their realms.

This amount of resources was enough to nurture a million peak-level experts.

Braydon spoke lightly, “Refining the eight swords and taking the items from the palace treasury is the deal.

Once it’s done, you and I are finished.” His words warned Gadin not to entertain any further ambitions.

Who would win in the end?

No one could say for sure.

But Braydon seemed more confident.  He had mastered seven swords and had the backing of a mysterious figure.

The crippled Gadin was still suppressed by the small sword.

He couldn’t touch Braydon.

If he provoked Braydon, the eight swords might very well kill him.

Gadin’s remnant soul wasn’t foolish.  He understood Braydon’s message.  His face darkened, and he seemed on the verge of attacking.  If he could control Braydon’s body, he could use the seven swords and draw out the eighth.

This would not only give him a body but also free him from his restraints and release his suppressed remnant soul.

He had calculated everything carefully.

But, unfortunately, he had picked the wrong opponent.

With a thought, Braydon activated the small sword hidden in his body.

Eight small swords stood upright, circling around him.

“Have you considered the consequences of making a move?” Braydon asked calmly.

One simple sentence shattered Gadin’s resolve.

What would happen if he acted?

Braydon’s eight swords protected his body.  Could Gadin’s remnant soul suppress them?

If he had that kind of power, he wouldn’t have been suppressed for so many years.

If Gadin attacked, Braydon would trigger the small sword in his forehead.

Once it fully erupted, it could sever Gadin’s body.

At that point, even if Braydon was injured, Gadin would be dead.

Possessing Braydon was out of the question.

Gadin’s remnant soul simply couldn’t afford to take action.

Here, Gadin’s face darkened further as he fell into silence.

Braydon turned away, closed his eyes, and entered the space within Gadin’s body.

Inside the small sword in Gadin’s forehead, Braydon saw a terrifying sword.
