Chapter 753 - 753: The power of a GOD.
Even after death the remaining aura the god beast cultivated in his life was a fierce storm, standing at the very edge of the storm Alan hesitated, before his bloodline forced him to move forward.
“… Shit.”
He cursed, as he entered the furious storm, where the currents were like sharp blades. Of course, his skin was as hard as diamonds. Something like this wouldn’t break him, but he was sure further in he would be shredded.
His blood was still boiling, blue fire left his body with every breath. Alan walked closer to the corpse of the God beast, the werewolf of silver as the winds crashed against him.
“So much aura…”
He was merely at the boundary of the storm, and still the amount of aura here surpassed his own reserves.
He didn’t know much about the God beasts, only that they cultivated aura instead of mana, Godbeasts became adults faster than dragons, but an Adult Godbeast was not as powerful as an Adult Dragon, they cultivated aura at a slower pace.
Well, they had their entire system of power, just as the dragons had their own.
‘What do they call it…? Shamanism? Their version of sorcery.’
They had to be doing something right to still be the equal of dragons. Another thing to note was that both species had their separate castes. Normal, or warrior castes, and none were forced into the warrior castes, though god beasts did have a higher amount of warrior castes.
Both species really adored seeing their children do whatever they wanted, expressing their creativity in any way. The old God beasts and Dragons especially, they were really insistent on letting them be as free as they could.
Alan was in the same boat, he wasn’t really bound by any duties he would have to perform as the prince of Lanekia, or the Heir of Death, Ariel and Lanesha really didn’t bother him much aside from these trials he had to do.
“…”
That aside, he had reached the level of the storm where the wind was sharp enough to pierce his skin, only to be stopped by his dense muscles. The rips in his skin were repaired as soon as they were formed by his bloodline, but he had to exert more force to move forward as he covered his eyes with his arms.
‘What killed this one?’
As he advanced, he kept thinking about the killer of the God Beast, there was a slight chance that the God beast was killed by another one of their kin, but if that had been the case, his body wouldn’t have been defiled so much, and neither would the Phoenix be this furious.
There was a chance he could have been killed by a dragon, but then again, why would his corpse be defiled in such a manner? And Alan would have sensed a dragon if there was one on this planet, or the traces of one.
It wasn’t the two prime species… So it may have been someone else. It was still hard to believe, but special individuals of the other species had accumulated enough power to overpower some members of the prime species.
Not the ones at the top of the prime species, but others could be plausible, but then again.
“Who could kill… you?”
Alan asked, as the storm raged forth, tearing his muscle and reaching bone. Enhancing his eyes with as much aura as he could, he looked up at the dark silhouette that formed in this world of green death.
That of a wolf, with six eyes and four tails, that towered over him.
“Urgh!”
His legs were turned to mush, but they were healed before Alan could fall down, He strengthened his regeneration to his limits, to withstand the storm. He wanted to go further, but the wolf stopped him.
They were staring at each other in the sharp wind, and Alan had to admit it, in this chaotic scene it’s calm green eyes that exuded an invisible pressure were indeed scary.
‘What the hell killed you?’
He hadn’t said it aloud, merely thinking it in his mind, but the silhouette harrumphed, as if it heard him loud and clear.
He couldn’t take that thing on, even with Supreme Meteor, Enlightenment, or his dragon form. That wolf would rip him to shreds before he could even blink. Which was why Alan was so shocked it died.
Even after death, it remained so powerful. Alan was stuck in place, until a wisp of blue flame escaped his body and he saw the wolf flinch.
Slowly, the sharp winds ripping his body stopped, and the storm turned tranquil, turning itself into a wall that blocked the outside. It was still windy and green inside, but at least he wasn’t getting ripped apart.
It was really strange how ready he was for that to happen.
The wolf disappeared into the storm, leaving Alan in tranquil silence as his body moved forward, finally reaching the corpse.
Within a grave of his own aura, the corpse was still, but alive. Alan knew that he was dead, yet he felt as if it was the opposite. The god beast was much taller in person, and with a physique that Alan couldn’t compare too.
A power he couldn’t compare with, If he had to fight this thing… Using [Possession] was the only way. Now that Alan was in front of the corpse, the influence of his bloodline had ended, and a quest had appeared.
[Quest: The powers of the brightest light.]
[Description: Achieve the eternal flame, a fragment of the brightest light, and resurrect your fallen kin.]
[Reward: The acceptance and memories of the Brightest light, Liorathen, The Phoenix.]
[You will receive a memory of the Phoenix on acceptance of the quest.]
[You cannot deny this quest.]
A final burst of blue flame swallowed the corpse of the god beast, safely transferring him to Alan’s inventory as he stood still, his eyes blank as the surrounding storm ceased.
Noticing the storm cease, Sabrina approached him.
“Alan, what happened?”
But nothing happened, as if she was staring at a hollow corpse.
