The Villain's Story

Chapter 815 - 815: Insane.

“At least half of these have to be…”

The three stood in disbelief as they slowly read through the contents of the ‘book’. After the simple information of every Dragon Supreme and some of their titles, were the feats they had accomplished.

And each one of them was something beyond imagination, especially for the three. Yes, they were awakened and faced monsters that one would only encounter in nightmares… but these?

Suleras had devoured a black hole once to see if it was salty or not, Lanesha had frozen the abyssal layer of chaotic fire just for fun, and Izikil had punched through entire stars and nebulae during one of his fights with the God beasts.

Ravas had given birth to entire planets and asteroids just from a sneeze. Valus had once plunged the universe into a tide of darkness that lasted a few years in Earth time. Agri had annihilated the home world of giants and had burned them with a fire so mighty that it was ingrained in their future generations.

Kyrgar had completely transformed a galaxy to suit his needs, filling it with nothing but pure lightning and storms.

‘…’

Sabrina wanted to take all of these ‘facts’ with a grain of salt, but somehow knew everything recorded in the library was true, as its owner.

The library was a collection of nothing but the truth that ‘Almada’ had painstakingly gathered, and everything written about these Supreme Beings was all true; every detail, no matter how unbelievable it seemed, was true.

Olivia and Alice didn’t believe it at all, but Sabrina had no choice but to, because it was her domain, and there was nothing false here.

She wanted to turn the page, to know more; after all, these were just the Dragon Supremes, one of the two major forces in the universe. The knowledge of the supreme beings of the God Beast race was next.

But before turning the page, she thought…

‘… Are they even more insane?’

She wasn’t even done with the Dragon Supremes; entire books were written about their feats, in much more detail. What she had just finished was basically a summary of each one.

How unbelievable would the legends of the God beasts be? The opposing force to the Dragons? She was about to read about them, but a particular topic caught her eye.

[The Serpent.]

“It got you, didn’t it?”

Kulak burst into laughter as James shrugged his shoulders. It was all there, right in front of him, this entire team. He himself had fallen victim to it, but unlike James, he could free himself of it easily.

All it required was cutting a part of himself away, something he could afford to do… but a weak soul could not.

Alan’s unique skill, Dominatus, had gotten James Smith. He had been caught by it, and Kulak could see it clearly, just beneath his collar, a tinge of blue rising higher and higher.

“So that’s why they didn’t attack you, because you’re no different from them. You’re helpless against the skill, aren’t you?”

“Ehhh, Not exactly helpless.”

Kulak turned his head as the man in the suit conjured a chair to sit on and gave the Supreme a long stare.

“Alright, yeah, I am helpless. Guess it’s just a race against time for me, though it’s in my favor.”

Kulak slowly advanced, and James threatened.

“Woah, Woah, you are not going to like what’s going to happen if you keep doing that, you know.”

“How did it happen? And how are you still… you?”

Kulak asked, keeping his pace slow and steady. He was ever so curious about the sudden turn of events. The Serpent was dying, or at the very least, on the path of becoming the thing he hated the most.

Controlled, dominated.

“A moment of carelessness, I admit it, I fucked up. Who would have thought the puppet soul I was controlling would develop a unique skill like this? My luck ran out.”

“Indeed, it did.”

“Though there was some saving grace, Dominatus is just like the bastard out there, clueless. I didn’t even need seals for the skill… just compliance.”

“What do you mean?”

“The skill is still new, you know? Like a newborn baby. It doesn’t know how to function properly; the most basic function is to protect the existence of ‘Alan Peccator’. Although, how it distinguishes what a threat is or not is hilarious.

Any form of hostility towards him is immediately wiped out. I know this from experience; unlike what the description says, it doesn’t even give you a choice.

Anything it identifies as a threat, a hostile threat, is wiped out immediately. Thankfully, the skill has its flaws.”

Kulak remained quiet, eager to know where James was going with this.

“As long as you comply, even if you are a potential threat, it really doesn’t give a shit. Funny, right? Also, it’s surprisingly lenient when you lead it to believe that whatever is being done with Alan’s existence is beneficial for him.

Pretty easy to trick! If I do say so myself.”

“So you bowed down to it.”

Another smirk appeared on Kulak’s face as the mask grew still. The slits for the eyes disappeared as Kulak burst into laughter.

James had been had, he had been caught by the emergence of the new skill by surprise, and thus, to avoid complete annihilation, had to bow to his head, and convince the skill he wasn’t a hostile threat.

He had to comply; the serpent had to comply. He had to tread his path carefully under the supervision of the bright blue light.

Kulak approached James, sitting calmly in the chair, hiding his emotions behind the blank white sheet, and bent down a little.

Just so he could stare at the mask in glee.

“But I know that isn’t enough for you, So tell me, what the fuck are you up to?”

Witnessing the skill’s power, he could believe what had happened; however, Kulak would never believe that the man in front of him did nothing after it. He would never believe that James was okay with it all, and he knew there was something he was planning.

The two slits appeared once more upon the blank sheet, and from within a hollow green light emerged, staring into the eyes of the Supreme of Shadows and forming a smile.

“Meh, just a project of mine.”
