Chapter 1101: New Rules

Chapter 1101: New Rules

Although no one immediately spoke after the Divine Lord mermaid elder expressed her opinion, multiple members in the hall showed signs of agreement.

"I beg to differ, Faction Leader," another Divine Lord mermaid elder suddenly spoke up.

After receiving Divine Queen Naida’s permission to continue, the Divine Lord mermaid elder said, "Although Lord Vaan’s future seems very promising, it doesn’t change the fact that he is still a new disciple without background and support."

"The matters related to his oppression don’t just involve the higher-ups of the Outer Palace; they also concern great beings from the Inner Palace and Core Palace. If we openly support Lord Vaan, our faction will not be able to weather the storm."

"In fact, I can confidently say that our Luminous Veil would disappear within ten years. It wouldn’t be difficult at all for the other powerful Noble Beings to send their people here to replace us," the second mermaid elder said.

Half of the attending members couldn’t help but also agree with the second mermaid elder’s opinion, despite some of them agreeing with the first mermaid elder earlier.

It couldn’t be helped. Both had spoken well within reason. The Luminous Veil could greatly benefit from their affiliation with Lord Vaan. However, that was under the assumption that their faction could weather the storm.

If their faction ceased to exist, they wouldn’t be able to enjoy the benefits Lord Vaan could bring them.

"That is why we must get everyone on board. Lord Vaan’s Heavenly Massage is something that can change the fate of our entire Mermaid Race. How dare our Luminous Veil covet it alone? Such benefits naturally have to be shared. Otherwise, we won’t be able to convince the others."

"You speak as if Lord Vaan already belongs to us, Third Elder," the first chief enforcer shook his head and said, "If the report is completely true, it doesn’t matter where Lord Vaan opens his business; countless mermaids will flock to him to receive his service."

"The truth is that we have no real connection with Lord Vaan, nor do we have any real advantage in keeping him. We just happen to be lucky that he chose our territory first. If he wants to leave, no one can stop him."

"And if we want to keep him, it’s also impossible if he is unwilling, not to mention if we dare to keep him and allow him to continue operating his business," the first chief enforcer thought critically.

"Chief Caspion made a good point. At this present stage, we don’t dare to let Lord Vaan’s business continue, yet also unwilling to stop it. However, even if we do nothing, we can’t escape the blame for allowing his business to flourish. You spoke as if we had a choice, but in reality, we don’t."

"For better or worse, Lord Vaan had come to our territory first. We can’t stop others from associating him with our Luminous Veil. Since that is the case, we might as well offer him our full support."

Under Divine Queen Naida’s silent observation, the upper echelon of her Luminous Veil quickly entered a heated discussion with two conflicting, extreme views. One half wanted to offer Vaan their full support, while the other half wished to break free from him completely.

Nevertheless, regardless of their stances, everyone knew that there was no third option between the two. They could only pick one of two extremes.

Whether their Luminous Veil would decline or prosper ultimately rested on Divine Queen Naida making the right choice.

...

Meanwhile, Vaan continued to faithfully run his Heavenly Massage in Mermaid’s Grotto without the slightest intent of taking a break. With the continual nourishment of pure mana and the improvement of his cultivation, sleep was optional and not a necessity.

As such, as long as there were still clients waiting in the queue, his service would continue uninterrupted.

However, Vaan also noticed that the effects were minimal beyond three hours of massage when he serviced his fourth client. As such, he added a new rule to his storefront: a maximum of three hours per client.

Three hours was enough time to break down and absorb all of the built-up mana debris in a mermaid’s body.

Beyond that was simply the absorption of pure mana from the environment, which was much slower due to its dependency on the mermaid’s innate talent to gather mana, far inferior to their lifetime build-up of mana debris. ŗàΝоВƐŞ

As such, servicing a client beyond three hours was simply slowing down his own cultivation.

Of course, suddenly imposing a new rule made people unhappy. However, there were even more mermaids who were quite happy with the arrangement. After all, it shortened the queue time and gave them an idea of how long they had to wait until it was their turn.

Moreover, every mermaid who received Vaan’s Heavenly Massage left with satisfaction and joy. Although three hours felt short, it was still sufficient. After all, the effects were minimal after three hours.

It wasn’t just limited to Vaan; even the mermaids themselves felt the difference.

As such, continuing to pay 100 CP per hour after the first three hours was a luxury and indulgence that most ordinary disciples couldn’t afford.

"Three hours are up."

"Ah? Already?"

Vaan’s casual announcement pulled the mermaid’s mind back from the land of bliss.

Although the mermaid felt disappointed by the seemingly fleeting dream-like experience, she quickly adjusted her mood after confirming the time and sensing her body’s changes. Then, she quickly took out her ID card and swiped it against Vaan’s to transfer 300 CP to him.

After the mermaid thanked him profusely and left, Vaan exited the tent to welcome the next client.

"Head in first."

"Yes, Lord Vaan!"

The excited mermaid followed Vaan’s instructions and entered the tent. However, Vaan did not follow her immediately. While sweeping the crowd outside with his gaze, he had noticed a group of mermen, which prompted him to pause.

A few moments later, Vaan added another new rule to the storefront: No males accepted.

"Ah?! Lord Vaan, why don’t you accept any males?!" a merman protested.

Vaan lazily glanced back at the merman and said, "Haven’t you heard the moans that go on inside? Even if you don’t feel embarrass making such noises, I will still be offended."

The male protester was quickly speechless, and those who wanted to speak up immediately fell silent.

Vaan had no issues with women moaning under his service, but if men did it, he would feel the urge to slap them. Since business was booming, there was no need to give himself such trauma.

It was fine to be picky.
