Turns Out, I’m In A Villain Clan!

Chapter 379 Return of the Endless Tide

Chapter 379 Return of the Endless Tide

The next few days passed in an unsettling calm.

Too calm.

The battlefield that had once been a devouring maw of smoke, blood, and roars now lay still beneath the gray morning skies.

Desolate Heaven Empire’s cultivators patrolled the perimeter in rotating shifts, tension woven deep into their expressions.

Every snapping twig made someone grip their weapon; every rustle in the tall grass had a guard narrowing their eyes.

Because everyone knew, a Beast Tide never ends like this.

Not without price.

Not without a final frenzy.

Not without a last, desperate push.

But the Great Wilderness remained silent.

Rather than letting down the guards due to such rare peace, it made things the opposite.

Guards doubled and scouts tripled.

But no roaring tide came.

No beasts charged.

Nothing moved within the first ten miles of the Wilderness.

Gossip and speculation had been spreading among the cultivators, especially the young who loved nothing more than gossip.

Many thought that perhaps the Bai Zihan massacre had scared off the Demonic

Beasts.

Others speculated that perhaps they were waiting for them to let down their guard so that they could launch a surprise attack.

Anyway, there was no need for more speculation since after three days, the Beast Tide continued.

This time, Grade-10 demonic beasts joined from the start and led the Beast Tide.

Of course, in response, the Great Ascension Realm from their side also joined from the start.

The return of the Beast Tide was not dramatic.

There was no earth-shaking roar.

No thunderous stampede.

Scouts burst back through the treeline, panic twisting their faces.

“They’re coming!”

“The Beast Tide has returned!”

“Grade-10s-multiple Grade-10s-leading the front!”

In an instant, the Desolate Heaven Empire’s cultivators were brought out to confront the Beast Tide again.

Since Grade-10 Demonic Beasts were joining the battle, the Desolate Heaven Empire did the same by having their Great Ascension Realm join them.

The number of Demonic Beasts was similar to what it had been when they had run away with their tails between their legs.

Of course, the only thing was that it seemed like more Grade-9 Demonic Beasts had joined in since Bai Zihan killed many of them.

This made others a bit nervous since it was like Bai Zihan’s massacre had no effect on the overall Beast Tide, while on the other hand Bai Zihan couldn’t be

happier.

More Grade-9 Demonic Beasts, more points that he could gain.

Infinite Grade-9 Demonic Beasts were equal to infinite points.

Well, it wasn’t too big of a deal. At least the Grade-10 Demonic Beast was still missing one which had been killed by Bai Zihan.

On their own side, one crucial pillar was missing.

The Azure Sun Holy Sect’s Leader-one of the few Great Ascension experts strong enough to hold back a Grade-10 beast-remained unconscious, locked in deep recuperation.

But strangely enough, the morale didn’t falter.

Not even a little.

Because one figure was still fresh in their minds.

Bai Zihan!

If the situation remained the same, wouldn’t this just be a repeat of what had happened in the previous confrontation?

Bai Zihan would obviously start mowing down those Demonic Beasts, and no

one could stop him since even Grade-10 Demonic Beasts failed.

The second wave began much like the first-an ocean of techniques and killing

intent spilling out of the Great Wilderness.

Even without words, every cultivator felt it.

The Beast Tide rolled forward in coordinated layers.

The weaker beasts formed the front line, charging like a living tidal wave.

Behind them, the Grade-8s and Grade-9s marched with frightening discipline,

as if some unseen force were arranging them.

The Grade-10 Demonic Beasts remained in the rear, their oppressive auras sweeping outward like the slow opening of a monstrous eye.

Human forces moved in response.

Commanders gestured, Elders stepped forward, formations lit up across the battlefield.

Great Ascension Realm experts rose into the air, preparing to intercept the monstrous leaders of the horde.

Bai Zihan was in the same position as previously; however, it was clear as daylight that he wouldn’t cooperate with Bai Lumei’s group.

Not like they could keep up with him. Even a Void Refinement Elder found it hard to keep up with him, so cooperation would only slow him down.

Perhaps only with Great Ascension Realm experts could Bai Zihan cooperate

well.

But for now, it was better that Bai Zihan acted alone.

And after the previous battle, no one had the qualification to stop him.

He had killed fifty-plus Grade-9 beasts on his own.

He had decapitated a Grade-10 beast in full view of the entire army.

He had saved thousands, probably tens of thousands, simply by existing.

So even if Bai Zihan were to break from his group and act on his own, there was no one who could stop him-nor did they have a reason to stop him when he was making such a huge contribution.

Behind him, cultivators felt their earlier anxiety ease.

Not because the Beast Tide was weaker-it wasn’t.

If anything, there were more Grade-9 beasts this time.

But because Bai Zihan was there.

Just as he had been last time.

Just as he would be now.

The first collision began.

The opening wave-hundreds of Grade-6 and Grade-7 beasts followed by the stronger ones who rushed forward with thunderous force.

Bai Zihan moved.

Or rather-

He disappeared. A streak of cold brilliance sliced through the front lines, cutting apart

everything in its path.

Beast corpses were flung into the sky like shredded leaves caught in a gale.

The battlefield trembled from the sheer violence of the opening exchange.

Human cultivators carved their own paths through the horde, but their gazes kept drifting toward the lone figure who had already plunged deep into enemy

ranks.

Even from afar, they could see it:

Wherever Bai Zihan passed, the Beast Tide broke.

Lines collapsed.

Momentum shattered.

Grade-8 beasts fell before they even realized he had reached them.

Grade-9 beasts lifted their heads, instincts screaming danger, but their

reactions were always a fraction too slow.

It was the beginning of the massacre.

Just like the last battle. However, it seemed the demonic beasts had learned something from the

previous fight.

Unlike before-when a single, prideful Grade-9 had charged in alone-this time five Grade-9 Demonic Beasts surged forward together, their auras intertwining like a storm of feral wills.

They didn’t bother with subtlety.

They came straight for Bai Zihan,

As if the entire Beast Tide had been reorganized around a single objective, to

kill Bai Zihan.

The ground cracked beneath their combined pressure, shockwaves rippling

out.

Human cultivators staggered back, blood qi rattled, and even seasoned Elders felt their hearts squeeze under the crushing presence of five apex predators

moving in unison.

But Bai Zihan?

He just stood there.

Rather than fleeing because of Grade-9 teaming up to kill him, he rather wants to give thumb up to whoever came up with such a plan.

Hunting down Grade-9 beasts one by one was tedious, not to mention wastage

of time.

If they wanted to come together and save him the trouble of searching for

them, even better.

So as the five colossal monsters lunged at him, Bai Zihan stepped forward with

genuine appreciation.

“Good beasts,” he said softly, sword rising. “Come die!”

And the slaughter began anew.

The clash was instantaneous.

Five monstrous bodies crashed down with enough force to collapse mountains,

but Bai Zihan’s sword tore through the incoming shockwaves as if splitting fragile mist.

A spray of beast blood erupted into the sky.

The battlefield shook as the massive figures staggered-some skidding, some

roaring, some caught completely off guard by the sheer sharpness of Bai Zihan’s opening counterattack.

Grade-10 Demonic Beast also made their moves and the Great Ascension Realm experts moved as well.

They intercepted the Grade-10 beasts scattered across the battlefield, meeting them mid-air in clashes that made heaven and earth tremble.

Light and shadow danced as titanic auras collided, the sky itself warping under

the power released.

It was, once again, the same dance of destruction as before.

Great Ascension against Grade-10!

Many battles fell into slow, grinding stalemates.

But Bai Zihan?

He was different.

The demonic beasts had brought what could only be described as an endless

supply of Grade-9 beasts-far more than last time.

And disturbingly, a frightening number of them focused solely on him.

One group of five died.

Another five immediately took their place.

Then another.

And another.

There was no hesitation.

No fear.

No instinct for survival.

They came at him without retreat, without pause, without even the instinctive

terror beasts should have felt after witnessing his slaughter.

By now, Bai Zihan had already amassed more than thirty Grade-9 kills-and

barely an hour had passed.

They kept coming.

Endlessly!

Bai Zihan titled slightly-not out of worry, but confusion. Demonic beasts, for all their savagery, possessed raw animal instinct. After

seeing their brethren reduced to heaps of mangled flesh, they should have fled. Instead, they threw themselves at him like moths into a blazing inferno.

He assumed, for a moment, that perhaps they hoped to exhaust him by giving

him no space to breathe.

Of course, the truth couldn’t have been farther from that.

But Bai Zihan didn’t complain.

Not even a little.

Instead, the corner of his lips pulled upward.

This was good.

Too Good!
