Chapter 957 Expected Betrayal
Villain Ch 957. Expected Betrayal
Red_King didn’t respond. Instead, he lunged forward, aiming a powerful punch at Zoe’s midsection. His muscles tensed as he put all his remaining strength into the attack. But Zoe anticipated his move at the last second. She dodged just in time, the hit grazing her side but not causing significant damage. The near miss only served to excite her more, her eyes lighting up with sadistic delight.
“You’re fun,” she taunted, her tentacles writhing with anticipation. “Let’s see how long you can keep this up.”
Red_King readied himself for another attack, his breath ragged and heart pounding. His mind raced, trying to find a way to break through her defenses. But Zoe was faster. Her tentacles shot out from below with lightning speed, wrapping around his legs and torso. Before he could react, she lifted him into the air, her grip tightening painfully around his body.
Panic surged through him as he struggled, trying to break free, but her hold was too strong.
Zoe’s laughter filled the hall. “Caught you,” she said, her voice dripping with mockery. She tightened her grip, the tentacles constricting around Red_King’s body, squeezing the air from his lungs. His vision blurred, pain radiating from his chest as he fought to breathe.
“You really thought you could fight me bare-handed?” Zoe sneered, her grip tightening even more. “In your dreams.”
Red_King’s struggles grew weaker, his strength waning. He could feel his ribs cracking under the pressure. His mind screamed in agony as the crushing force of her tentacles threatened to break him entirely. Desperation clawed at him as he realized he was losing. The thought of failing, of not even being able to defeat one of the emperor’s subordinates, filled him with despair.
His vision tunneled, darkness creeping in at the edges as he struggled for air.
Suddenly, a surge of energy coursed through him. Red_King’s eyes widened in surprise as his wounds began to close, and he could breathe again. He looked down and saw Father^Alex standing below him, his staff glowing with healing light.
“Hang in there!” Father^Alex shouted, his usually calm and quiet demeanor replaced with fierce determination. He cast another spell. “Barrier!” A shimmering barrier formed around Red_King, bolstering his defenses and keeping his HP stable. “Archers, mages, shoot her!” he commanded, his voice echoing through the hall.
It was the first time Red_King had seen the typically peaceful and reserved Father^Alex like this. He had never shouted before, never ordered anyone around. But now, he was like a different person, driven by the dire circumstances.
Yet, to Red_King’s dismay, no arrows flew, no spells were cast. The archers and mages remained still, their focus directed elsewhere. Red_King followed their gaze to see Sophia, who had commanded them to fight Shea. She stood there, giving Father^Alex a mocking smirk as if she had already won.
Father^Alex’s face showed a brief flash of shock, but he quickly steeled himself. He had expected betrayal but still hoped for support.

Zoe, sensing the shift in the battle, launched her tentacles towards Father^Alex, piercing his chest with brutal force.
Father^Alex gasped, blood spurting from the wound as he dropped to his knees. The barrier around Red_King flickered and faded. Zoe’s grip tightened once more, lifting Red_King higher as she prepared to deliver the final blow. Red_King’s eyes met Father^Alex’s for a brief moment, a silent understanding passing between them.
With a sudden, brutal motion, Zoe tore Red_King apart. The sound of ripping flesh and breaking bones filled the air. Red_King’s scream was cut short as blood sprayed from his body, raining down on the battlefield below. His lifeless form fell to the ground in pieces.
At the same time, Shea launched her attack on Sophia and the remaining guild members. Her eyes were locked on Sophia. She was like the queen of light. It made Shea’s stomach churn.
Reaching her, however, was no simple task. Despite INeedHotGF being preoccupied with Bella and Liam engaged in a fierce battle with Alice, the other players fought tooth and nail to protect Sophia. They knew that if Shea got to her, they would all lose.
Shea moved with deadly grace, her harp in hand, plucking its strings with deft precision. Each note she played sent out waves of destructive sound, slicing through the air and forcing the players back. The battlefield was filled with the eerie, haunting melody of her music.
“You’re all so eager to die,” Shea taunted, her voice carrying over the din. “Why not just step aside and let me end this quickly?”
But the guild members were resolute. They formed a protective ring around Sophia, their weapons and shields ready to fend off Shea’s attacks. They knew that their lives depended on keeping the priestess safe. Not mentioned the arrows and spells that kept flying towards her.
“Hold the line!” one of the warriors shouted, his sword raised high, his voice trembling with determination. “We can’t let her through!”
Shea’s eyes narrowed, her annoyance growing. Her fingers danced across the strings of her harp, playing a series of rapid notes that sent out a barrage of sound waves. The waves crashed into the warriors with the force of a tempest, forcing them to their knees.
The ground shook with the impact, cracks spreading out from where the waves struck, and the air vibrated with the intense energy of her music.
Sophia stood her ground, her staff glowing with holy light. She cast a series of healing spells, the soothing light washing over her comrades and mending their wounds. Her face was a mask of determination, though her eyes flickered with fear. She knew the stakes were high, and failure was not an option. Yet, deep down, she also felt a thrill.
The attention, the desperate need for her power, it was intoxicating. This was what she needed and wanted.
“We can do this!” she called out, her voice steady, a beacon of hope amidst the turmoil. She felt a surge of joy and validation, knowing how crucial she was to their survival.
