Chapter 3452: Studying Blueback
Chapter 3452: Studying Blueback
Hearing Lin Mu’s words, Blueback nodded. "My friend wanted to create a new path. Not formations placed outside the body, but formations that became the body."
Meng Bai stared wide eyed. "So you are... walking around as a formation?"
Blueback laughed. "That is one way to put it."
Lin Mu traced a line in the air above one of the glowing patterns. "These channels guide immortal essence, but also reinforce flesh, nerves, and marrow. And they link directly with your apertures."
"Yes," Blueback said. "He combined it with the Three Apertures Invoking Technique."
Lin Mu nodded slowly. "You are using the totemic art as a substitute for the final stage. Instead of closing the apertures, you circulate everything through the array and into your body."
Blueback looked surprised. "You saw that?"
Lin Mu smiled faintly. "It is clever. It avoids the greatest danger of the technique."
Daoist Chu frowned. "But it also traps you."
Blueback’s eyes darkened slightly. "That is the problem. I cannot go further. I can become stronger, but not fundamentally different. The next step... does not exist."
Lin Mu looked thoughtful. "Your friend never finished it."
"He died before he could," Blueback said quietly. "And I do not know enough about formations to complete it."
Meng Bai looked at the glowing tattoos with fascination. "If this could be adapted... maybe even Qi cultivators could use something similar."
Lin Mu glanced at him. "You are thinking of your own path."
Meng Bai nodded. "I do not want to walk the same road as everyone else."
Blueback looked at him with interest. "Good. That is how true cultivators are born."
Daoist Chu examined one of the deeper layers. "These lines are not only formation script. They include body refinement methods, marrow resonance patterns, and even traces of Dao understanding."
Lin Mu sighed softly. "Your friend was a genius."
Blueback smiled sadly. "Yes. That is why I carry this."
He touched his back gently. "I carry his last dream."
"This is very complex. I can see that this array has changed, it has traces of evolving." Lin Mu muttered.
"Indeed. The original array must have been vastly different. It has adapted to his body and if we wish to figure out how to understand it we’ll need the original blueprint. Without it... this would be very, very difficult." Daoist Chu observed.
Lin Mu was silent for a moment.
Then he said, "If you are willing, I would like to study this more deeply. Not to steal it, but to understand it."
Blueback nodded without hesitation. "That is why I waited for someone like you. Someone who can see what this really is."
Daoist Chu looked at Lin Mu. "This could take years."
Lin Mu nodded. "I know."
Meng Bai clenched his fists slightly. "If Master studies this, maybe... maybe he can help me find my own way."
Lin Mu looked at him. "You will find your way regardless. But this might give you new ideas."
With that said, they began to copy the Tattoos and the pathways as best as they could. Thankfully with Lin Mu’s Spatial Perception he could see the continuation of the network through the multiple layers of Blueback’s body.
Lin Mu did this for an hour when footsteps echoed outside.
The door opened.
Cattaleya walked in, wiping her mouth. "Paperwork done. Food finished. What did I miss?"
She looked at Blueback lying face down. "Why does this look inappropriate?"
Blueback groaned. "This is why I was glad you were unconscious during the ceremony."
Cattaleya laughed loudly. "So, One Punch Man, what are you plotting now?"
Lin Mu gestured at the tattoos. "Learning."
She leaned in close and squinted. "Looks like fancy scars."
Blueback sighed. "You wound me."
She patted his back. "You already look wounded."
The room filled with light laughter.
Outside, the world continued to buzz with Lin Mu’s name.
But inside this quiet healer hall room, something else was beginning.
Not fame.
Not legend.
But the slow, careful study of a path that no one had ever walked before.
Lin Mu remained in the healer hall for hours.
Time seemed to lose its meaning as he focused entirely on Blueback’s back.
To ordinary eyes, the glowing blue tattoos looked like artistic patterns, some tribal, some geometric, flowing naturally with the curve of muscle and bone. But to Lin Mu’s immortal sense, they were something else entirely.
They were alive.
Every line was a channel.
Every curve was a circuit.
Every junction was a decision point where immortal essence, blood, nerves, marrow, and even faint traces of Dao all met and negotiated their paths.
Lin Mu expanded his immortal sense to its limit, layering it with spatial perception and even his perception of the Dao Itself. He did not touch Blueback directly. Instead, he observed from every angle, shifting his perception through skin, flesh, bone, and organ.
He saw how the Lapis Link Body Array Totemic Art was not merely carved into the body.
It was grown into it.
Some lines had fused with nerves, allowing the array to respond instantly to thought.
Some had intertwined with blood vessels, letting essence ride along with circulation.
Others had embedded themselves into the marrow, strengthening the very source of Blueback’s physical power.
Most astonishing of all was how the array connected to the Three Apertures.
Each aperture had its own subsidiary network, like a small city of glowing paths. These networks then linked into the greater totemic array, which acted like a massive highway system distributing immortal essence throughout the entire body.
Lin Mu muttered softly, "So this is how you bypass the closing stage."
Blueback, still lying face down, chuckled. "You sound like my friend when he talked to himself."
Daoist Chu sat nearby, occasionally commenting.
"This junction is too dense. It risks feedback."
"That spiral is beautiful. It reminds me of ancient Dao patterns."
Meng Bai watched quietly, eyes shining with curiosity. Even if he could not fully understand what he was seeing, he could feel that something extraordinary was unfolding in front of him.
