Chapter 1944: If You See Him, Never Bring Out Your Puppet

Chapter 1944: If You See Him, Never Bring Out Your Puppet

The entire mountain began shaking from the impact of the battle of two Peak Sovereigns, even showing signs of collapsing.

Boom! Bam!

The Old Gnome was enraged the moment he saw Grey, wanting to kill him there and then. If not for not wanting to kill his companions who were there, he would have not held back at all. The situation is different now, with a Peak Sovereign watching over Grey, there was no way he could kill him without going all out.

Grey and his friends killed the remaining two Eighth stage Sovereigns and hurriedly exited the cave, aware that there was no way it would be able to hold on any longer with the duo battling at full strength.

They were not the only ones to leave the mountain, the other Gnomes scattered across the caves in the mountain all rushed out, scared that the mountain would collapse on them. They did not understand why someone suddenly started fighting, and they could sense the powerful aura of the Old Gnome.

“What’s happening?” A Gnome dressed in white asked with a confused expression.

“Senior seems to be fighting with someone.”

“Who dares to cause trouble here? Are they tired of living?”

The Gnome’s question came with an eerie silence before an unfamiliar cold voice responded…

“In truth, it is you all who are tired of living.”

The Gnome who asked the question turned to look in the direction the voice came from, only to see Grey and his friends walking over with cold eyes.

The Gnome snorted coldly, giving them an icy stare, “Humph! I should’ve known it would be you Humans. You always overestimate your abilities.”

Even though this place is close to the current Human settlement, they were not afraid.

Klaus chuckled, “I’ve always known you Gnomes are idiots. You, on the other hand, are very much likely the biggest idiot amongst your kind.”

The Gnome’s expression turned even colder hearing Klaus insult him, he pointed at him and just as he was about to strike, he noticed his entire right hand had gone numb. Looking at it, he was shocked to discover that it had been cut clean off from his shoulder. Struck by a wave of pain, he screamed in horror.

The pupils of the surrounding Gnomes dilated as they stared fixated on the hand of the Gnome that was currently on the ground. None of them saw how the Gnome lost his hand, and if not for the Gnome’s unusual pause and then reaction, they would not have noticed this early.

“So weak yet you spout so much nonsense.” Klaus spat in disgust.

The Gnome whose hand was cut off was only a First stage Sovereign, there was no way he would be able to keep up with Reynolds who was not only a Seventh stage Sovereign, he was also a Lightning Elementalist. Reynolds could have killed the Gnome without the Gnome even knowing how he died, that was his plan, only to receive a transmission from Klaus not to kill him.

The Gnome wanted to seal the wound, only to discover that Reynolds’s lightning was not only making it impossible, it was also streaming into his body, causing more damage.

“Yo… you…”

Klaus interrupted the Gnome before he could finish his statement, “You what? You can’t even speak properly, yet you rushed here to fight.”

Not giving any of the Gnomes a chance to speak, Klaus said while looking at them in a condescending manner, “You are all trash that will die here.”

The Gnomes were irate, but none stepped forward to speak against Klaus again. No one wanted to experience their hand being cut off, and they noticed smoke coming from the wound of the Gnome whose hand was cut off. Even the smell of burnt flesh was starting to spread around the area, while the Gnome was clearly in severe pain.

A Seventh stage Sovereign Gnome stepped out from the crowd, “I haven’t had the chance to play with Humans before, I hope you don’t disappoint me.”

When the Gnomes saw this young Gnome step forward, they all felt their confidence slowly coming back. Due to how easy it was for the first Gnome to lose a hand, and the fact that they did not see how it happened, they were frightened and forgot other than the Senior, they had other experts with them. It was only after this Gnome stepped out that they came back to their senses. Yes, this group of Humans were stronger than the ones they killed some time ago, but they too have powerhouses who can deal with them.

“Stop playing around and end this already, we still have other things to do.” Unlike Klaus, Alice did not see any aim with making the Gnomes feel despair.

Klaus, on the contrary, had that in mind, “No rush, I want to see what this guy can do.”

Signalling to the Gnome, he said, “Survive one strike and I’ll let you have my head.”

“You’re arrogant, I’ll make sure to keep you alive as long as I can to make sure you feel the process of slowly turning into my Puppet.” The Gnome licked his lips and brought out his Puppet.

Being a Seventh stage Sovereign, he surprisingly had a Ninth stage Sovereign Puppet. Even though Klaus was surprised by this, he did not have anything to worry about. Glancing at Grey, he winked.

Grey sighed, perfectly understanding what Klaus intended.

He did not physically make a move, cutting off the link with the Puppet was something he could do even if both his hands were tied behind his back.

The young Gnome was about to say something when his eyes froze in fear, his pupils struggled for a quarter of a second as he looked in the direction of Grey.

Grey’s appearance was relatively conspicuous due to his looks, so it was quite easy for the Gnome to recall the warning they were given, ‘If you meet a young man that can almost be passed as beautiful, never bring out your Puppet.’
