Chapter 2058: Consequences (2)

Chapter 2058: Consequences (2)

Khaya could not contain her guilt anymore when she heard that her captain’s daughters had almost died because of the Elders of her clan. She told everything, even though Chief Avourel and the Elders tried to stop her. They were silenced by Clementine’s and Baba’s gazes.

“This still doesn’t justify your action against them, Tang. You really should wait for them to leave the city if you want to take action. Or you should bring them back to your garden and kill them there instead,” Arion’s shoulder was slapped by Clementine when he gave advice.

Right after he finished speaking, three people appeared in the room. They came out from the shadow of the table just like how the assassins appeared. The three people were wearing black cloaks, covering them from top to bottom. There was an enchantment on the cloak, so they could not be seen through with any skills.

The person in the middle let out a gasp of surprise at the sight of three Executive Administrators. They received a summons from Arion, but they didn’t expect to see Baba and Clementine here as well.

They quickly regained their composure and seemed to understand the situation when they saw the Daenelis Clan’s people. They swiftly took an empty seat. “I don’t know if the Administrator would be involved in a personal dispute. This clearly has nothing to do with the administrator. Are you abusing your authority to protect your bastard, Sir Arion?”

Arion laughed, not expecting the rumor to spread outside the Administrator’s circle. He was aware of the rumor, but he thought it was limited only to the Administrator’s circle.

“I wish Tang Shaoyang were my son so I have the justification to use everything I have to erase the Ten Stars Accord from the God Realm.”

The atmosphere immediately tensed up, but Arion remained smiling, “What? Since when can you joke around, but I can’t?”

“And if you dare to say that again, I will use my clan to at least get rid of the Shadow Stars!” Clementine said that in a somber tone. When Clementine said that out loud, the three cloaked figures immediately cowered.

Shadow Stars was a faction that dealt with assassinations and information gathering. That was what they were known for, and more importantly, they were part of the Ten Stars Accord, an alliance comprising ten factions. A single faction was not feared, but as an alliance, they were compared to the likes of the Ancient Kingdom, the God Order, and the La Vista Alliance. They were the top powerhouse in the God Realm.

“I apologize for my friend’s insensitive remark, Lady Clementine. However, I agree with him that this personal dispute should not fall under the Administrator’s jurisdiction, even if our target has the status of Executive Administrator. Our target is not the Executive Administrator, but Tang Shaoyang, as in the Emperor of the Tang Empire.”

The cloaked figure to the right apologized, but he didn’t admit that they had done something wrong.

“Not in your jurisdiction?” Baba snorted, “Where are you? In Starter City. And your people dared to execute your work under our territory, and yet you dare to say that this is not under our jurisdiction. The incident triggered the city’s security system, which is why the system summoned us to resolve the problem. Do you still think this is not under the Administrator’s jurisdiction?”

“You of all the people should understand how the security system works, right?”

When the rules are broken, the security would assess the situation, specifically the violator’s level of power. That way, the system would summon the right people to deal with the problem. In this case, Tang Shaoyang was considered the violator. That was why the security system summoned three available Executive Administrators.

“You tried to assassinate an Executive Administrator in a city governed by the System, yet you dare to say this is not in our jurisdiction,” Baba was pissed that the people from the Shadow Stars were making excuses. What pissed him even more was the fact that they dared to take a mission to kill an Executive Administrator.

If the Shadow Stars were unpunished, the other assassins’ guild would boldly take a similar job. The fact that they tried to make this as if it were not under the administrator’s issue also pissed him off even more.

Three Executive Administrators were here, and they dared to make an excuse that his problem had nothing to do with the administrator while knowingly taking a job to kill an Executive Administrator.

The people from the Shadow Stars realized that they had messed up. As if targeting an Executive Administrator was not enough, now they have offended two other Executive Administrators.

“I don’t see a problem here. My fellow Executive Administrator is retaliating for the attempt on his life and also his family. This will not happen if you don’t plan all of this!” Arion turned toward the Chief of Daenelis Clan. It was obvious that he tried to put the blame on the Daenelis Clan.

“This is none—” Chief Avourel immediately shut his mouth when Arion raised his index finger.

“Nonsense? You knowingly took an action in his Tang Garden even though you know you are teleporting from the Starter City. You know if a fight breaks out, it will happen in the Starter City, not in that separated space. Don’t ever think to exploit the loophole in front of my face.”

Arion turned toward Tang Shaoyang, “What do you think? We have several ways to punish them if you want.”

That was when everyone in the room realized that Tang Shaoyang’s eyes were locked on Chief Avourel, never looking away from the start of the meeting. He didn’t even turn to Arion when the latter spoke to him. His eyes remained on Chief Avourel, which gave a creepy vibe.

“I don’t care. As I said, I will repay everything they tried and did to me in my way. It doesn’t matter if they are punished or not,” Tang Shaoyang then turned toward the three people from the Shadow Stars, “Shadow Stars, is it? You should be prepared as well. I am coming for you!”

Since Tang Shaoyang didn’t want them to be punished, Arion closed the case as self-defense. No one was punished since there was no damage. The Daenelis Clan left right away, along with the Shadow Stars. The moment they left, Baba could not hold back anymore.

“Why? Why are you letting them go? Are you scared of them? We can and should punish them, setting them as an example of why you should never target an Executive Administrator!”

Tang Shaoyang shrugged, opening the message. Kang Xue brought his daughters and Li Shuang back for another check-up, ensuring they were fine. The report was positive, and everyone was fine.

“As I said, I will do it on my way. Not just them, but everyone will understand that they should be ready for the consequences when they try to kill me.”

He then turned toward Khaya, who remained behind, “What are you doing? Aren’t you leaving with your clan?”

“Let me explain—”

Tang Shaoyang raised his hand, stopping Khaya, “I know. You have nothing to do with this. That’s why I didn’t go for your life. However, I will give you one day to evacuate your people, the people you love, your family, or anyone that you care about from your village, clan, or whatever it is. I give you one day. GO!”

Khaya’s eyes widened, wanting to say something, but she knew whatever she said was useless. There was no turning back from this point. Her clan had crossed the line.

She nodded and stood up, then she bowed at Tang Shaoyang. This happened because of her idea, and she didn’t understand what happened in the clan. She didn’t understand what they were trying to do. They mentioned they were trying to hold Tang Shaoyang’s family hostage, but what did they expect to achieve from doing that? It was no different than challenging Tang Shaoyang.

“What are you going to do?” Arion asked, curious what Tang Shaoyang planned for the Daenelis Clan and the Shadow Stars.

“Just a reminder, the Shadow Star is part of the Ten Stars Accord. They are at a similar level to the Ancient Kingdom and the God Order as an alliance. You should think twice if you want to do something to them.”

The God Order and the Nirvana Alliance were not yet over. He was worried that Tang Shaoyang would draw another big player into his conflict.

“I have made up my mind,” Tang Shaoyang shrugged.

“They probably acted on the God Order or the Nirvana Alliance’s request. Or maybe even both. You should not draw the Ten Stars Accord to you when you have two big unresolved issues,” Clementine added.

“I know it’s probably the God Order and the Nirvana Alliance. The Daenelis Clan probably offered themselves to the God Order in exchange for something. They used my relationship with Khaya as captain and team members to kill me, catching me off guard.”

Tang Shaoyang could figure out what happened. Khaya did not plan this, but Chief Avourel and the Elders did. His conflict with the God Order and the Nirvana Alliance was public knowledge. Chief Avourel used this to get something from the God Order, thinking the God Order and the Nirvana Alliance could give something the Tang Empire could not.

“But it doesn’t matter whether they act under the God Order and the Nirvana Alliance’s request. They made a move against me once, and they will not hesitate to take another job on my life for the second or the third time. They know they are on my radar, so they want to get rid of me before I become too big.”

Arion could not refute that. He agreed that the Shadows Star would not hesitate to take the job if they had another chance for sure.

“What are you going to do then? You should share it with me. Maybe I can offer you some help,” Arion was genuine with his offer, with no ulterior motive.

Tang Shaoyang waved his hand at Arion, “I appreciate the offer, but I don’t need your help. I will resolve my problem on my way.”

He closed his eyes for a moment, then he waved at the three Executive Administrators, “It’s time for me to leave!” As he said that, his body disappeared along with his spirit.
