Atticus’s Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground

Chapter 1485 Everyone

Chapter 1485  Everyone

Atticus stood alone in the midst of melted corpses. Their bodies had been burned beyond recognition. One side of their faces had melted into a warped mass, while the other remained intact enough to show the twisted, horrified expression frozen at the moment of their agony. It was as if the fire had preserved their final scream.

Atticus had meant every word. The man he suspected was responsible for everything, Emberion, laid dead beneath him. While the others suffered in their own right, Atticus had taken his time on Emberion.

The feeling of having every cell in one’s body slowly burn could not be imagined. Emberion’s screams had pierced the earth, yet they did nothing to stop Atticus.

‘This is all of them.’

Atticus exhaled hot steam, feeling his rousing emotions settle. The need for retribution had made him act without much thought, yet he didn’t regret even a second of it.

They deserved everything they received.

‘Hm.’

Atticus’ eyes flickered towards the sky, where Lazio, along with Magnus and Kiara, appeared.

‘Looks like I wasted too much time.’

The distance between territories was far too much for them to traverse as fast as him. Without the katana art, even Atticus doubted he would have achieved it in a second.

“I-I trust all your affairs have been handled?” Lazio said, gently landing in front of him.

Atticus didn’t miss the uneasy glance he threw at the melted corpse beneath him.

‘He’s cautious.’

Understandable. One could only imagine the torture he’d inflicted upon the army.

“Yes.” Atticus nodded, then looked at Magnus and Kiara. “We’ll be going with them. A friend of my leads them.”

Magnus blinked.

“…a friend?”

He stared at Atticus with a ‘did I hear you correctly?’ look.

Atticus coughed.

“Yes… friend. Is that so hard to believe?”

“Yes.”

Atticus was taken aback by Magnus’ bluntness. But as though remembering who his grandfather was, he cleared his throat.

‘That must be where I got it from.’

“Well, I’ll introduce you to her later.”

“I understand it sounds unbelievable, sir, but it’s the truth,” Lazio whispered to Magnus. “Though some might even say they’re more than ju—”

“Ahem.”

Lazio flinched as the temperature spiked. He turned and found Atticus staring at him with a flat, cold gaze.

“Ah! Would you look at that… we’re late!”

Lazio’s will engulfed him and he shot into the sky, wanting to be as far away from Atticus as possible.

“More than friends?” Magnus asked, brow raised.

Atticus coughed again, enveloping the group with his will.

“You heard him, Grandpa. We’re late.”

He ignored Magnus’ hard stare and followed Lazio as they tore across the terrain.

For the first time, there were no active threats or attacks, only the silence of the skies. To Atticus, it was peaceful.

In this silence, he allowed himself to ponder his impending meeting with a particular saint.

‘They’re dead.’

Viscount Merek’s eyes trembled. He was seated within a large covered paniquine, cutting across the sky at high speed.

‘How did he kill them… and that fast?’

Merek’s gaze flickered as he reached out to any remaining Redflames in the northern region. Every attempt came back empty.

‘He wiped them out.’

Steam rolled off his body as his expression twisted.

‘Who is this boy? Didn’t he just ascend?’

It had barely been thirty minutes since Atticus was reported in the viscount layer, and yet he had already defeated two mid rank viscounts along with an army of lower ranked viscounts.

‘How many barons did he absorb?’

To gain strength like this, the carnage he must have caused in the Baron layer was unimaginable.

‘Good thing I marked them.’

His eyes lowered to the scarlet will flickering around his arm. The wills of the dead Redflames had returned to him upon their deaths, violently clashing against his own.

If he hadn’t placed that restriction, Atticus would likely have risen straight to the peak of the viscount rank.

‘I can’t allow him to grow past this.’

He could already battle mid rank viscounts without trouble. Any further increase would push him to the very top. Merek couldn’t have that.

He needed Atticus boxed in, pressured, forced to struggle, until he arrived.

“Hunk.”

A flash of light, and a man materialized before him, bowing deeply.

“You called, Lord Merek.”

“Emberion and Prya are dead.”

“Y-you mean…?”

“Yes. He killed them.”

Hunk’s eyes shook, but he kept his silence.

“No matter how surprising it seems, accept it. What’s done is done.”

“What are your orders, Lord Merek?”

“Send everyone.”

Hunk’s brows fired up in disbelief, but Merek’s tone remained cold.

“Every single Redflame in the viscount layer. Send all of them after him. Relay my order.”

“A-as you wish, Lord Merek.”

As the subordinate vanished, Merek clenched his fist, feeling the wills of his children and the other Redflames settle within him.

He had long since reached the peak of the viscount rank. With the addition of the wills gathered from dead viscounts and other factions, he was already anticipating how much he would grow upon ascending to the count layer. That was when the real conflict would begin.

‘But I’ll remove him first.’

At this point, killing Atticus wasn’t about vengeance anymore. It was necessity. The boy was too abnormal, too unpredictable, too fast in his growth.

For the sake of his own advancement, and for the Redflame, Atticus had to die.

The air around Viscount Merek simmered with heat as his eyes smoldered.

‘You won’t survive.’

During their movement, Atticus was glad to finally get some breath of fresh air. They hadn’t encountered any Redflames on the way, and their journey was smooth.

Lazio led the group back to the territory by the cliff, and towards the city’s edge.

As Atticus gazed at the yawning drop below, obscured by the thick clouds surrounding the cliff, he couldn’t help but throw Lazio a confused look.

But the man only smiled, then gestured towards the sky directly after the cliff.

“There’s nothing there,” Kiara said, confused.

But in contrast, Atticus’ eyes flickered gold as he scrutinized the space. His eyes widened the next moment.

“A city.”

Lazio’s jaw dropped. “Y-yes… but how did you…? Ah, forget it. You’re not normal.”

He shot Atticus a disbelieving look, then sighed and raised a hand.

“Reveal.”

The air before them shimmered, and a sprawling floating city materialized in the sky.
