Chapter 1518 - 1518: Mass Producing Magic Shields
—–
The mass-produced shield I had created for everyone wasn’t as powerful as mine as it didn’t carry any divine blessing unfortunately, but it was as strong as I could make them back then…
It was pretty much this.
—–
[Roughly Made Monster Shield (D Rank Magic Shields)]
Potential Abilities: [RES +13% (D)] [VIT +15% (D)] [Magic Shield (D)] [Magic Damage Taken -10% (D)]
—–
Yeah… I know it’s barely anything, but this is what I made!
“Alright everyone, let’s mass reforge and upgrade all of your shields,” I said. “Could you handle them to me?”
“Sure,” Mark nodded.
“Oh? Okay…” Elena nodded.
“Here!” Lily said.
“This shield?” Rita asked.
“I don’t have any shield though…” Elisa said.
“Me neither…?” Monica asked.
“I guess not everyone have it…” I nodded. “But it’s a shield I made for most people, I’m sorry I didn’t find the time to make you one, girls. I’ll try to create some for you while I reforge these.”
At the end, I gathered the shields from Mark, Rita, Lily, and Elena. Jenny, Anna, Elisa, and Monica didn’t have any shield of their own unfortunately, so I was going to create those as I upgraded the others.
“How interesting, the entire process was incredible,” Olivia commented after she saw me collect the shields, she was most likely talking about when I upgraded my shield.
“Y-You think so? I think I am still an amateur in these things,” I said.
“Well, I suppose you might be, I am not a Magic Blacksmith myself so I cannot completely tell all the details and everything, but your technique was simply wonderful, Elayne!” Olivia said. “You’re like someone that doesn’t stop impressing people, aren’t you?”
“I-I guess so? I’m really grateful for your words, Olivia,” I giggled, feeling a bit embarrassed by all her praise.
But I guess she wasn’t wrong? In the perspective of someone experienced like her, it must be very shocking to see someone that was “ordinary” a few months ago suddenly become so good at so many things, right?
I guess not “suddenly” though, but I wonder how I’m even treated on SWORD? Am I considered someone like a Hunter or someone that already had powers beforehand?
It’s quite strange how they handle these things, but I suppose it’s part of our privacy to not enclose or share these things.
While SWORD is a government agency that employs people all over the world like mercenaries, there’s also just agents from the government helping.
Olivia is a Magus from Europe, member of a large organization of Magus, the Clock Tower. However, they aren’t a government organization and are a private organization instead.
So they have their own agendas and aren’t exactly working for any government, but that’s why I am being wary as well.
Nonetheless, at this point, showing her everything I can do just make me more valuable in her eyes, which will make her try her hardest to become good friends with me and her family.
Which works out for me, I suppose?
And because SWORD is in between, shady business shouldn’t really happen unless she wants to risk her reputation all over the world, and also her family.
Which I doubt is what they want, she’s a good person in the end, but I suppose Magus are just Magus, they’re shrewd like this, even when they’re good people that mean no harm.
They probably work on the consensus of “you help me, and I help you” where they sell favors to one another, make prices based on information, and so on.
Not everything is handled with physical valuables, sometimes information, knowledge, and the act of helping out someone else is a valuable asset by itself.
And to her eyes, I might be someone carrying many of such valuable assets…
Or so I imagine, but maybe I am just overthinking it.
“Alright, let’s use the leftover Yggdragonium ingots into these shields!”
“Very well!”
Ignis and I got to work, we created a quick process using my Aura shaped as hands and large molds, and his flames melded with my aura perfectly.
What we did was a constant usage of my techniques over several items at the same time, creating hammers out of my aura wasn’t that hard either, now with the shield strengthening my aura even more, it was a piece of cake.
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
We worked hard, but eventually, after a time record of ten minutes, we were done! The shields were reforged, reconstructed, and enhanced.
And above all, they were all shiny, covered on scale-like metallic exterior. They had draconic eyes on them but no dragon head though, I didn’t have enough metal for that.
I also made enough shields for Jenny, Anna, Elisa, and Monica, covering everyone!
Well… Maybe I could make a shield for Gabriel? But I don’t think he needs one, he can conjure really strong barriers.
And then, I heard the World’s Voice.
[You have successfully Reforged many [Roughly Made Monster Shields (D Rank Magic Shields)] using your Domain’s Abilities and several powerful Materials.]
[The many [Roughly Made Monster Shields (D Rank Magic Shields)] have been reforged into the [Holy Spiritual Yggdragonium Shields (A Rank Magic Shields)]!]
[The Potential Abilities of the Shields: [RES +13% (D)] [VIT +15% (D)] [Magic Shield (D)] [Magic Damage Taken -10% (D)] have Evolved to: [RES +60% (B)] [VIT +60% (B)] [Yggdragonium Magic Shield (B)] [Magic Damage Taken -50% (B)]!]
[The many shields have gained the following Abilities: [Elemental Damage Taken -50% (B)], [Spiritual Magic Counter (B)], and [Elemental Aura Assimilation (B)]!]
There it was!
It developed three new abilities, and the previous ones were upgraded as well.
I was hoping for A+ Rank, but it seemed this was the limit with the current materials and the time given.
Which wasn’t bad at all for something I mass reforged in just 10 freaking minutes, it’s literally no time at all.
Okay perhaps I might allow myself to believe I’m kind of awesome now…
That was way too fast but I dd it!
Ah right… the new abilities.
They’re pretty good on their own, yes.
Elemental Damage reduction, a counter ability and… Aura assimilation? Wait, what does that do?
