Chapter 3909: Telling the News
When joining the Verjansy Country, Rean also brought Trian with him. He kept the story of being Trian’s younger brother, and through the training that Rean secretly provided, Trian’s strength advanced by leaps and bounds.
In the last event of the Martial Gathering, Trian was also part of one of the groups that made it to the second phase. However, he lost there, so he didn’t take part in the last part, the Core Seizing. Nonetheless, his strength was recognized, so the Verjansy Country was more than happy to take him in.
Now, Trian had ’fallen behind’ Rean in cultivation, and since Trian was on his own, there wasn’t much of a need for Rean to pretend to be weaker than him. In time, their positions actually shifted, and it was now Trian who relied more on Rean than the other way around.
Of course, as the one who brought Trian to this position, Rean took good care of him, and today, he called the boy over. "Oh, big brother, you came!"
Trian looked at him, nodding. "You said it was urgent, so I had to put the mission given by the deputy of external affairs of our dormitory aside. Why do they even create these weird positions? Can’t they just put a mission hall or something like that? Sigh... anyway, what is so serious that you had to have me come in person?"
Rean raised his hand. "Wait a little. Wisfreya and Foliana will be joining us soon."
After these years, even Trian got used to meeting Wisfreya sometimes. It goes without saying that both Rean and Foliana created waves in the younger generation of the Verjansy Country, so the government saw their closer relation as a plus. It was especially so since they were believed to be under Wisfreya’s command.
A few minutes later, Wisfreya and Foliana arrived, entering Rean’s room as well. "Hum? Trian too?"
Rean looked over and saw another girl. He recognized the girl a little, although he barely had any chance to talk to her during these years. "You... I believe your name was Narika, was it? Why are you here?"
Rean and Wisfreya had their relationship based on the times he needed blood and soul from Wisfreya. Other than that, they didn’t see each other very much, even if those who watched from outside thought them to be close friends. It was definitely better to say that Foliana and Wisfreya were many times closer than Rean and Wisfreya were, though.
As for Narika, she was actually a close aide of Wisfreya. She was quite talented herself, but in comparison to Wisfreya, she was somewhat lackluster. She was a year younger than Wisfreya, 27, but had just reached the Elemental Transformation Realm. Wisfreya, who was now in the Void Tempering Realm, definitely outshone this girl.
That wasn’t a problem for Narika, though. Before Wisfreya’s bloodline and talent were discovered, the two already knew each other and had been close their entire lives. So, even if Rean barely knew the girl, Wisfreya and Foliana definitely were close to her.
Of course, Wisfreya knew to keep her mouth shut, so even though she was close to Narika, Wisfreya never told the girl about the blood and soul Rean took from her from time to time.
"I brought her," Foliana said. "Roan said that we can warn those we want as long as we do it privately, right? Well, I’m sure Wisfreya would never leave Narika behind, so I thought it was better to simply let her into the situation we are facing."
Wisfreya and Narika were still confused. They were told to come here urgently, but they too were oblivious. "Can someone explain already? I was in the middle of my cultivation time," Wisfreya complained.
Rean shrugged and didn’t mind. "Alright, I’ll say it straight. You know we live in a continental alliance called Green Cluster, right?"
"Yes," Wisfreya, Narika, and Trian nodded.
"Good. The Green Cluster will cease to exist. We need to leave before that happens," Rean said it bluntly.
Trian, Wisfreya, and Narika thought they heard something wrong. "Come again?"
Scratching the back of his head, Rean used his Divine Sense to convey all the information Roan found. Narika obviously didn’t know who Roan was, other than the fact that he was part of Wisfreya’s group in the Martial Gathering, so Rean also added a little bit of extra information for her. Trian was aware that Rean and Roan were close, so it was easier to explain to him.
"Wait, wait, wait!" Wisfreya felt terrified. "It can’t be, right? How could Roan have noticed it and the powers of our Green Cluster not? He must be reading too much into it."
Rean already expected that response. "Don’t worry, this is just me informing you ahead of time so you can make the preparations to leave. In the following days, the Green Cluster Alliance will notice this move from everyone around it. At that point, there will be no way out."
"Well..." Rean smiled, "Perhaps Roan is wrong, and no such thing will happen. It is not set in stone yet."
Wisfreya, Trian, and Narika definitely believed that a lot more. Even Wisfreya, who knew Roan was actually an old monster, found it hard to believe Roan had such an insight all on his own. Let alone Narika and Trian, who thought Roan was a young human like them.
"Hmph!" Wisfreya turned around, not willing to hear that anymore. "He is definitely wrong. If such a big move was about to happen, the Green Cluster Alliance would have noticed. I’m going back to cultivate. Also, be ready, since the Bonelands are invading, there is a good chance that we will be sent to take part in that war. It is the kind of opportunity for young cultivators like us to gain experience, after all. Let’s go, Narika."
"Ye-Yes, let’s go..." Narika quickly followed.
Rean didn’t try to stop them. He only had to warn them, and the rest would follow. "Go with them," Rean told Foliana. "If they are sent to the frontlines on the border with the Bonelands, we might need you to take them out."
"Leave it to me," Foliana nodded, leaving right after too.
Trian, however, didn’t leave.
