Chapter 3910: Wish of Good Luck
Chapter 3910: Wish of Good Luck
Trian found all that interaction quite peculiar.
"Is something on your mind?" Rean asked. This time, he dropped his fake self when he usually talks to Trian, so there was an air of imposition around him.
"Why do I feel like this ’you’ at the moment is not the same young brother I always had?" Trian finally asked the question.
Rean faintly smiled. "I’ve been with you all these years. I watched you reach the Transition Realm by the age of 23, which, although it wasn’t anything compared to Wisfreya, still puts you as one of the top geniuses of the continent. But, at the same time, you should have noticed the clues, haven’t you?"
Trian narrowed his eyes. "You are not truly who you look to be, are you?"
Rean, for the first time, patted the young man’s head, much to Trian’s surprise. "Seems like I haven’t been secretly training you for nothing, kid. I can’t tell you right now who I truly am. Just know that since I took you under my wing, I will see that you leave this place before the Green Cluster disappears."
Trian pushed Rean’s hand away, not feeling the least bit happy. "And why should I trust a liar like you? You used me, didn’t you? I always had this feeling that my decisions weren’t my own. I couldn’t quite put a finger on the reason, but I knew you had something to do with it. I should just denounce you straight away."
Rean didn’t seem to mind. "That’s not a problem. First, no one would believe you. Second, even if someone did, there isn’t really anyone in this Green Cluster Alliance who could stop me if I wanted to leave. However, let me ask you straight, do you think I had any ill intentions towards you during these years?"
Trian felt quite surprised to hear Rean saying he was that strong. However, when he heard the question, he stopped for a moment. The answer was obviously no. Rean always treated him very well. At the moment, Trian understood without a shadow of a doubt. He became this strong because Rean was there, guiding him. Anyone watching from the outside would give anything to take his place. Trian knew he should never have reached this level so quickly, regardless of how confident he was.
"I will need some time to organize my thoughts," Trian said and turned around, preparing to leave. However, he stopped for a moment. "You said it is not set in stone yet that the Green Cluster will be overwhelmed. What are the chances of that not happening?"
"You don’t know Roan, but I definitely do," Rean explained. "I hate the guy, but if he says it will happen, it will happen. So, I would put it as less than one percent of chance of Roan being wrong."
"Can it be stopped?" Trian asked.
Rean obviously knew the answer. "If you find a way to mobilize the forces of other continental areas outside the scope of the Green Cluster Alliance to come and help, then maybe. Let’s see, to give the Green Cluster a chance of fighting back, you would need the aid of at least another 300 or so continents from far away, and also find a way to pay them well enough to convince them to come. Then, yes, maybe it can be prevented, but it would still not be guaranteed."
Trian bitterly smiled. How the hell would he convince so many continents? He probably wouldn’t be able to convince his father, who is just the Lord of a small city in another country, let alone something of that scope. Let’s not even talk about how to pay them; he wouldn’t know how to pay to simply move them all here in time. "I understand."
Finally, Trian left.
Rean looked away, shaking his head. This place has been quite good to him, especially the Verjansy Country. "It is a shame, but this is also the Cultivation World. What will happen here will be nothing but a speck of sand in the context of an entire Universe. Few will ever know what happened here, and even if someone far away hears about this story, they won’t care. There are plenty of similar events in a Divine Realm of this size. Well, those who manage to survive are likely to benefit greatly from it. I wish you all good luck."
Then, he closed the door of his room. He did what he had to do.
---
The days followed, and the situation in the invasion by the Bonelands escalated pretty fast. The Bonelands seemed quite desperate to push forward, which forced the Green Cluster Alliance to remanage some of their personnel to aid the continents bordering the Bonelands.
Yet, nine days later, a bomb was dropped in the Werdlem Network by the top experts of the Green Cluster. A coalition army had been formed, and all five other continental alliances surrounding the Green Cluster also began to move into the Green Cluster, including the feared Sea World beasts.
Naturally, the Green Cluster had contingencies for that kind of situation. Coalition armies from the surrounding powers weren’t anything new. That just meant it would be a more bloodied battle, but as long as the Green Cluster doesn’t lose too much land, their incredibly higher replenishment or resources would see them taking everything back in time.
That was how it was supposed to be... Unfortunately, on the eleventh day, some rumors began to spread around the Werdlem Network. Various powers of the Green Cluster seemed to be preparing to move. It wasn’t a move against the invaders, but to move out of this place.
Then, once the news couldn’t be contained anymore, it exploded on all fronts. Various other continental alliances joined those surrounding the Green Cluster, and an overwhelming number of experts who the Green Cluster had no hope of stopping began to invade.
Roan’s predictions weren’t too far off the mark. He said that the trillion mark might be reached. But in the end, due to the Green Cluster top powers fleeing ahead of time or just forming agreements with the invaders, that number stopped growing around the 700 billion or so.
Roan saw nothing wrong with it. That was a lost cause from the very start, and not even he, even if he was at the top and commanding everything, could stop it from happening. The Green Cluster just doesn’t have the personnel and resources to stop it.
Watching the news, Roan’s expression remained unchanged. ’From here, things will only go downhill.’
