Chapter 111: The Price of Hiring, Dora is Shocked
Chapter 111: Chapter 111: The Price of Hiring, Dora is Shocked
Whoosh!
The golden rope flew at an incredibly fast speed.
No one around had time to react. Only Aiden instinctively reached for his Epic Iron Dragon’s Magic Staff.
Boom!
A loud noise exploded. The ordinary bushes suddenly exploded, dirt flew everywhere, and a big hole appeared in the ground.
Inside the hole, a man covered in dirt looked up at the bright sunlight, confused.
When he finally realized what had happened, his face turned pale.
Without hesitation, he turned and crawled toward a small hole behind him.
But as soon as he moved, the golden rope wrapped around his body and pulled him out of the hole.
“Y-You… how did you find me?”
“That’s not possible! So many people have been around here since yesterday, and none of them noticed anything strange.” The man’s voice shook with shock.
Dora didn’t answer. Instead, she looked at Aiden and smiled. “A gift for our first meeting. You can take care of this guy.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she lightly waved her hand. The man, still tied up, was thrown right in front of Aiden.
Aiden frowned. The man hadn’t entered the house, but his position gave him a clear view of everything inside.
Luke had stayed in the house yesterday for a long time, and he left without noticing anything strange.
So, this Dora was definitely not an ordinary Reclasser.
Aiden looked at John. John immediately stepped forward and called a few security guards to take the man away.
“What are you doing! I’m a royal family member! What are you trying to do?” The man looked nervous.
John didn’t say a word. He kicked him in the stomach and said.”Shut up. You’re on Hawthorne Business Group’s land, and you’ve caused damage to their property.”
“Take him down and question him properly!”
Aiden let out a soft breath. Henry was really eager to act. Even though he was in the royal prison, his men were still moving.
This wasn’t good news at all.
Now, Aiden needed to find the right price to hire Dora. Only then could he safely go outside the Sovereign City to fight the boss.
Thinking about this, Aiden slightly turned and opened the way into the house. He said to Dora.”Thanks. Please come in and rest for a while.”
“Lia, prepare some food and snacks.”
When the group returned to the living room, Lia had already set everything up. There were snacks and drinks on the table.
Dora looked at the food. Her throat moved up and down. She tried hard to stop herself from eating everything at once. She looked at Aiden.
“That guy Luke probably already told you—hiring me isn’t easy.”
“Let me be clear: besides the hiring fee, I’ll need you to pay for all my expenses while I’m protecting you.”
“And if I have something important that makes me end the deal early, I’ll only return half the money.”
“…”
Dora said all of that in one breath. But she noticed Aiden’s face didn’t change at all, like none of it was a problem.
Right away, she realized this Aiden was richer than she thought. She could raise the price a little later.
If needed, she could even let him lower it a bit.
Aiden looked at Dora’s blue eyes and asked.”How much is it?”
He was ready for a high price. A level 83 Reclasser who was stronger than Luke? That had to be expensive.
But it was worth it. He needed time to finish the Bane of All Races quest and get the Mythic reward.
“Minimum one Epic item per day.” Dora said, leaning back on the sofa. “I heard you have an Epic Demon’s Heart. If you pay with that, three days will cost two of them.”
“Are you sure?” Aiden’s eyes lit up.
He wasn’t saying it was too expensive—he thought it was actually cheap!
He had over a thousand Epic Demon’s Hearts on him!
What did that mean? He could hire Dora for years.
Of course, that only worked if Dora had time and no other important jobs.
Dora took a deep breath. She knew her price was high.
But there was nothing she could do. Other high-level Reclassers either didn’t want to be bodyguards or were too busy. They were always working to level up or get High-tier gear.
But she was different. Her job didn’t need much experience. As long as she had high-value items, she could use powerful skills.
That’s right. No matter what skill she used, she needed high-value items to power it.
Gold, money, high-tier materials—everything.
She had no magic at all.
That was the special part of being a Money Warrior.
Dora said through her teeth.”This price can still be discussed, but…”
Before she could finish, Aiden suddenly spoke up. “No need to talk about it.”
Dora’s heart dropped. She already regretted asking for too much.
“Two Epic Demon’s Hearts for three days. I’ll pay for anything you spend while working.” Aiden said easily.
Dora’s eyes widened. She leaned forward and stared at Aiden.
“R-Really?”
She started to explain.”I should say, whenever I use my skills, I need high-value items. That also has to be paid by you…”
Aiden nodded. This cost was nothing compared to what Faye ate every day.
Plus, if he killed a high-level Epic boss that gave a thousand times critical hit, he would get a lot of Epic materials.
“Hope our deal works out.” Aiden stood up and smiled, offering his hand.
Dora was confused. It all felt too real.
It was the first time she met a client who didn’t haggle.
“Sorry, I have a question. It might be rude, but… are you really going to work with me? Or are you just joking?” Dora looked at Aiden’s hand and stood up.
John sighed next to her. “You’ll find out soon. Lunch is almost ready, and Faye needs to eat.”
“Relax. Aiden already has several Epic items.” John added.
Dora was confused. What did Faye have to do with this? Who was Faye anyway?
She left the Great Shaw Empire a while ago and went to other countries to make money. She hadn’t come back for a long time.
When did the Sovereign City get such a rich Aiden?
But Dora did know John. After all, the Hawthorne Family was the biggest trade group in the Great Shaw Empire.
John wouldn’t be joking with her.
Dora hesitated a little before shaking Aiden’s hand and saying.”Let’s work together.”
“Let’s eat lunch first. After that, we can go out and you can start your job properly.” Aiden said with a smile.
Soon, Lia brought the fancy lunch to the table with the help of the maids.
Faye flapped her white wings and looked at Aiden with golden eyes. She said in a sweet voice.
“Time to eat! Time to eat! Master, Faye is already hungry!”
Dora turned around and stared in shock.
A Mythic Pure-blood Dragon Clan?
She had been thinking about the price all this time and didn’t notice there was a baby dragon in the house.
This was the Faye John mentioned?
Dora was still shocked when she saw Aiden throw out two items.
Faye jumped forward and started eating happily.
“Wow, a Pure-blood Dragon Clan! Her food is so special.”
“Wait, what is she eating?”
“That looks like Epic material!” Dora stared hard at what Faye was eating.
She wasn’t mistaken. That was definitely Epic material.
She remembered what John had said. Did that baby dragon really eat two Epic materials every day?
Dora opened her mouth in disbelief and looked around at everyone.
Aiden sat quietly and started eating lunch. John, the two other girls, and the maids around them acted like nothing was happening. They stayed completely calm.
Dora couldn’t help but speak up.
“Um… are you sure you’re not mixing things up? Your pet is eating Epic materials.”
Aiden paused for a second, holding his knife and fork. He looked at Faye, then at Dora, and smiled.
“No mistake. Just two pieces of Epic material.”
“Come on, eat. The lunch today is really good.”
Dora was actually hungry, but she had no desire to eat right away.
Really?
Those were two Epic materials! If she found a good Artificer, there was a chance to make Starlight or even Epic gear!
Aiden just fed them to his pet?
And it looked like he did this every day?
Dora kept taking deep breaths. She was a Level 83 Reclasser and had traveled through many countries. She shouldn’t act so shocked.
She forced herself to calm down and started eating like everyone else.
She ate quickly, and most of the food ended up in her stomach.
When she finished, Faye had just finished the two pieces of material.
“Master, master, I’m done! Just a little more and I’ll be full.” Faye said, struggling to fly to Aiden’s shoulder with her tiny wings.
Aiden patted Faye’s round belly and said with a laugh.”You’re just about to get full, aren’t you?”
“Go back to your pet space and digest it first. We’ll eat again at night. And you still have a fight this afternoon to help us level up.”
Faye nodded her cute head and went into the pet space.
“Alright, rest a little, then we’ll go out.” Aiden said, turning to Dora.
Eat again at night?
Dora was stunned. She took a deep breath and asked, voice shaky.
“How many materials does Faye eat in a day?”
