Chapter 240: Treasures
Chapter 240: Treasures
That other person was, of course, none other than Liora.
The moment she arrived and glanced at this outsider, her eyes shone brightly as if she had discovered something interesting.
However, she didn’t rush to act just yet.
She first looked at the Fire Elementals around her and waved her hand, ordering them to step back and return to their positions.
Obtaining their leader’s orders, these “subordinates” did not linger.
They immediately saluted respectfully and hurriedly left this place, planning to return to their posts.
Only Liora and the Gale Devil remained in this place, both silently sizing each other up.
That was until, out of nowhere, the Devil moved.
Still holding the green lamp in his right hand, he reached into his bag with the other and took a small crystal out before pouring his demonic energy into it.
Instantly, the space around him folded continuously and began wrapping him up, as if it were preparing to pull him far away.
“Teleportation Jade.”, Liora instantly recognized the means he used.
She was not unfamiliar with this thing.
Acting as a miniature teleportation array, a Teleportation Jade could help people teleport as long as they activated it.
Although the landing location was random and could not be controlled by the user, it was a famous item in the Demon World and thus included in most people’s bloodline memories.
After all, if a Teleportation Jade was used at the right opportunity, it could help people escape even the most dangerous of situations.
However, Liora was only faintly surprised. She wasn’t worried that this Devil would leave.
Though her opponent wished to escape, this didn’t mean that she let him.
Immediately, a giant maw appeared right in front of her, and its mouth opened wide, swallowing the matter around it.
This included the surrounding flames and fire elements, but most importantly, it included the fluctuating space.
Instantly, the space around the Gale Devil was smoothed out.
Under his surprised gaze, the teleportation force acting on his body disappeared.
Before he could react and make sense of the situation, Liora reached out.
Invisible demonic energy rushed out and gathered into a hand, wrapping around her opponent and bringing him closer.
In the blink of an eye, the creature made purely of wind elements had appeared right before her eyes, having been rendered unable to put up any form of resistance.
As her eyes reflected its peculiar structure, Liora’s expression changed.
Though she was still disguised as a Fire Elemental and had yet to regain her real appearance, the curiosity and excitement in Liora’s eyes were hardly concealed.
“Finally…”, she muttered in a low voice.

After her earlier failures, Liora decided to try another approach to search for invaders.
Using her identity as a True Devil-level Fire Elemental, she ordered the nearby creatures to search for unknown Devils.
Although such an approach was dangerous and might alert the stronger beings among them, it was a fact that such an approach was many times more efficient.
And indeed, as the Fire Elementals scattered and began searching for unknown Devils, the expected results soon came.
The number of invaders she had found these few days far surpassed that of the past, confirming that her decision was correct.
Even though she ultimately failed to find an Inferno Item among these Devil’s belongings, it was obvious that she was slowly getting closer.
And finally, what she had been waiting for actually happened.
As Liora stared at the Gale Devil standing powerlessly in front of her, her eyes shone with a sharp glint.
Although she didn’t immediately find what she was looking for, the remaining traces on this person let her know that it was highly likely that he possessed an Inferno Item.
Or at the very least, he had recently come into contact with one.
With that in mind, Liora didn’t rush to kill him. Instead, she reached out and removed the bag from his waist.
She had noticed during their earlier encounter that it was from this thing that he had taken both the mysterious lamp and the Teleportation Jade out.
As she peeked into the bag, Liora discovered something strange. Its interior size was far beyond what one would expect.
Liora immediately recognized that this item was not so much of a bag. Rather, it was a space treasure.
Such items were usually created by powerful creatures who had come into contact with the power of space and were able to carve a small space out of it, or were objects born through a series of fortunate coincidences.
Liora was not unfamiliar with such treasures. She even possessed one.
The Space Orb, which housed most of her belongings and had made her life many times more convenient since she obtained it, was one of them.
“A mere Lesser Devil possesses a space treasure, as well as a Teleportation Jade. Tsk, tsk. Some people are really lucky.”, Liora shook her head and chuckled under the terrified eyes of the Gale Devil.
Of course, she subconsciously ignored the fact that she was also quite similar.
Even when she was just a Lesser Devil, her property surpassed that of many True Devils.
Shaking her head, Liora pushed those thoughts aside.
Holding onto the bag, she took another peek inside and began searching for the Inferno Item.
Instantly, her eyes shone with a surprising brilliance.
Not because she found the Inferno Item, but because she was almost blinded by the Gale Devil’s belongings.
Several items of similar value to the Teleportation Jade could be seen within the space treasure, while precious weapons and miniature arrays could be seen almost everywhere.
Even the seemingly most useless items, the books, piqued Liora’s interest, as her intuition told her that they held great secrets.
However, she didn’t lose her composure when facing these treasures.
She knew that she could always go through them later.
At the moment, her most important goal was to find the Inferno Item and leave this cursed valley.
Thus, Liora’s gaze continued to wander through the scattered items.
She didn’t find anything at first, even making her wonder if she had been mistaken.
But before long, her gaze landed on a single piece of metal.
It was orange in color and smelled like sulfur, allowing Liora to recognize it instantly.
Hellstone—a type of metal native to the Demon World, which could hardly be found in other worlds.
Liora had met this metal several times throughout her life, most of which were when she was still in the Crucible.
From this, it could be understood that Hellstone was neither precious nor very rare.
In fact, it was a common material that could be found almost everywhere in the Demon World.
Although it was divided into different tiers based on its roughness and extraordinariness, even the strongest Hellstone would hardly interest a True Devil.
Yet, the moment Liora’s eyes landed on it, she noticed a difference.
A tiny gray rune was engraved on one side of the Hellstone’s surface. At the same time, the metal emanated a bizarre aura, making it stand out among the other, more valuable, items.
Without hesitation, Liora took it out of the bag and held it in her hand.
She was about to expand her consciousness and confirm whether this thing was the Inferno Item she had been searching for when she sensed a subtle change in her surroundings.
