First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2539 - I Can’t See Through HIm

Chapter 2539 – I Can’t See Through HIm

Did he just say he’d grant the patriarch death!? Xun Wuyuan was stunned. He… He…

Xu Wuyuan couldn’t find the words to describe how he felt right now. He’s completely frenzied! That’s a Half-Step Eternal of our Ravening Wolf Daoist Court! What Master God would daresay something like that?

Yue Qiong’s fiery eyes narrowed, but then, he laughed. “Very well. I promise not to run.”

He’d only just said this when he swung his sleeve and threw a simple punch.

Boom!

Heaven and earth were like a furnace, and endless flames gathered around his fist, creating indescribably terrifying fist force that slammed ruthlessly into Su Yi.

Like the flames of the heavens bursting through a dam!

Their overflowing power contained hints of Eternal charm.

Su Yi felt intense pressure bearing down on him. His skin seemed to burn. It was as if he’d been plunged into a furnace. With every breath he took, it seemed his organs might melt. Even his soul was under a terrifying intimidation.

It was just too terrifying! This power was far beyond those who’d merely touched the threshold of Eternity.

He really isn’t bad at all, thought Su Yi.

He didn’t retreat. Instead, he advanced, blue robes swaying around him as he swung his fist like a sword.

It was just a light, airy slash. He didn’t emanate even the slightest energy fluctuation, either. His attack was simple and without flourish.

Yet it cleaved through heaven and earth, parting the sea of flames, and descended upon Yue Qiong.

Yue Qiong’s eyes shone with a strange light. He raised his hand and grabbed, seizing the descending sword qi and holding it firmly in place.

Bang!

The sword qi split, scattering sword light. It didn’t so much as scratch Yue Qiong, either; the searing, fiery Laws around him melted it down to nothing.

“Your sword qi has been concentrated. All that is extraneous has been washed away, and it’s achieved a return to nature. It’s truly unbelievable…” said Yue Qiong as he examined the sword qi dissipating in his grip. He sighed. “It’s no wonder Xun Wuyuan lost to you. Even I’m struggling to grasp the mysteries of your attainments in the Dao of the Sword. They’re far too mystical.”

This strike had broken through his attack with strength to spare for a counterattack. For a Master God to achieve such power was simply miraculous!

“A petty trick, that’s all, yet you’re sighing over it like that? Should I feel honored, or should I lament your ignorance?” Su Yi laughed.

As he spoke, he suddenly vanished in place. A moment later, he appeared above Yue Qiong’s head and stamped.

Boom!

The sky collapsed beneath his feet, and a streak of unstoppable sword qi pierced the turbulent spacetime currents and shot toward Yue Qiong’s head.

But Yue Qiong had long since vanished. Su Yi’s incomparably tyrannical strike hit nothing but air.

Before Su Yi could change his approach, a massive impact rang out. Endless divine flames interwove, then condensed into a ten-thousand-foot furnace, trapping Su Yi inside.

The furnace blazed, brimming with indestructible, Eternal flames that could have reduced even a Nine-Tribulation Master God to ash in an instant.

Su Yi didn’t panic. On the contrary, the depths of his gaze were as tranquil as the waters of an ancient will. He just threw a light, airy punch.

Bam!!

One punch, and heaven and earth shook.

The ten-thousand-foot furnace of divine flames now bore a striking fist-shaped indentation.

Then, it exploded into pieces. Su Yi walked through the endless divine flames, his blue robes fluttering around him.

The difference was that now, a mysterious, inscrutable, perfect circle appeared around him. It was formed entirely out of the Laws of Reincarnation, but inside, it was full of imposing sword intent, as deep and unfathomable as abyss.

Boom!

Su Yi casually raised his hand, and the divine ring took to the sky, bearing down on the air around it. It shattered into pieces, unable to withstand such sword force.

“Somewhat intriguing.” Yue Qiong was forced into view in a stretch of shattered sky.

His hands closed, condensing a seal of divine flame, which slammed into the ring of the Dao of the Sword.

Heaven and earth were thrown into chaos. Divine radiance shot forth.

Su Yi staggered on his feet and took several steps back. His blue robes were now burned in several places.

Yue Qiong laughed calmly. “If that’s the extent of your abilities, I’m afraid ‘granting me death’ will be difficult.”

His robes were whiter than snow, and divine flames undulated like the tides around him. He was like an unparalleled, magnificent ruler.

The power of a Half-Step Eternal was indeed terrifying to the extreme.

“It’s only interesting if you can put up a fight,” Su Yi said casually. His composure never wavered. “If you were just another clay chicken or porcelain dog, killing you would be boring.”

When Xun Wuyuan heard the words “clay chicken” and “porcelain dog” his expression darkened. He felt indescribably stifled.

“It’s a pity,” sighed Yue Qiong. “I’m a lover of talent, but you’ve killed far too many of my sectmates. I cannot possibly spare you.”

“Oh,” said Su Yi. He couldn’t be bothered to respond to that, so he simply attacked again.

Boom!

Heaven and earth were thrown into chaos. Sword qi and divine flames swept out in all directions.

Su Yi and Yue Qiong were soon locked in fierce combat.

One swung his sword with unstoppable force. Nothing could stand in his way. The other controlled divine flames, melting everything. He was tyrannical beyond measure.

The entire stretch of ocean was thrown into chaos.

The distant Ravening Wolf Forbidden Zone felt the impact. Spacetime energy churned.

Is that that guy’s true power? Xun Wuyuan gasped. No, something isn’t right. No Master God is capable of such power!

Throughout the ages and throughout the epochs, when has a Master God ever been able to contend with a Half-Step Eternal?

That liar! That bastard must have been ‘playing the pig to eat the tiger!’ Xun Wuyuan gnashed his teeth. The way he saw it, Su Yi had likely taken half a step into Eternity a long time ago.

There was no way he was an Undying Realm cultivator!

Meanwhile, countless people watched this fierce conflict from inside the Ravening Wolf Forbidden Zone.

“Our intelligence was mistaken, and our judgment was erroneous. Su Yi is far, far stronger than the reports indicated!” someone said with an unsightly look on his face.

“Is he in the Undying Realm or not?”

“The Undying Realm? Hah! Have you ever heard of an Undying Realm expert capable of fighting a Half-Step Eternal?”

“The master of reincarnation really is far too terrifying. It’s no wonder they call him the greatest expert in the God Domain. He’s absolutely unprecedented!”

…All sorts of discussion arose on all sides. Everyone was shocked; none of them had

anticipated that Su Yi would be strong enough to contend with a Half-Step Eternal like Yue Qiong.

On one of the islands, there stood an ancient divine palace. A mysterious, inscrutable spacetime rain fell around it.

A group of Ravening Wolf Daoist Court patriarchs was gathered inside. They, too, were watching the battle.

“Can any of you figure out that boy’s exact cultivation?” asked a thin man with a lotus crown.

This was Lu Daoyuan, Ravening Wolf Daoist Court’s third-generation patriarch. He was also One Who’d Entered the Chamber, or as Su Yi would call him, a “False Eternal.”

All he needed to do now was establish his Eternal foundations on the River of Destiny and he’d become a true Limitless Dao Lord!

He also had the highest seniority of anyone present.

“Although his cultivation base and powers of the Grand Dao are both incomparably heaven-defying, I haven’t sensed any trace of an Eternal aura. It seems to me that he really is in the Undying Realm,” someone said gravely.

“Those yet to achieve Eternity are all ants! I’ve most certainly never heard of a Master God capable of fighting a Half-Step Eternal!”

Someone argued, “Don’t forget, everyone: he’s mastered reincarnation, and he’s lived numerous lifetimes. With his abilities, hiding his cultivation base wouldn’t be at all difficult.”

“It’s hard to say precisely because Su Yi is so shrouded in mysteries. His status is incomparably unique, and on top of all that, he’s mastered both reincarnation and the Epoch Spark. Thus… you really can’t judge him by his cultivation base,” someone said softly. Several others chimed in their agreement.

Different cultivation levels had different names, but they all sought the same Grand Dao. Thus, no matter someone’s origins or cultivation level, when they revealed their true strength, others could typically sense their cultivation level and powers of the Grand Dao at a glance.

But Su Yi was obviously too unusual for that. It wasn’t just that they couldn’t determine the true heights of his cultivation; his path involved numerous lifetimes and the mysteries of reincarnation, so they couldn’t have judged his strength by his cultivation base even if they had known it.

Lu Daoyuan, the third-generation patriarch with the lotus crown, heard all of these opinions. He couldn’t help but frown.

After a moment, he asked, “Then do you think Lu Qiong can defeat him?”

Everyone exchanged glances. All of them were hesitant.

In any other match-up, they’d have been able to determine who was stronger at a glance, and they could have guessed the likely victor.

But Su Yi… was far too different from other people!

Lu Daoyuan scanned the crowd, taking in their hesitant expressions. He couldn’t help but sigh. “I have to say, we really underestimated the greatest sword cultivator in the God Domain. It was unquestionably a mistake to target him.”

“No, not necessarily.” Someone shook his head and expressed a different perspective. “Yue Qiong has yet to reveal his true hidden cards. Besides… we old-timers are here, too!”

“You’ve misunderstood,” said Lu Daoyuan. “I’m lamenting all the sectmates who perished by Su Yi’s hand. Their deaths… were far too unworthy!”

The crowd’s hearts churned with emotion, their expressions instantly icy.

They’d lost over one hundred Undying Realm Master Gods. With a force like that, they should have been able to wage war across the God Domain and vie for good fortune in the Dark Days of Legend.

But now, one misstep had led to their deaths!

Who wouldn’t have found this a pity? Who wouldn’t have been furious?

“Hm? Everyone, quick, look over there!” someone suddenly cried out.

The group extended their divine senses beyond Ravening Wolf Daoist Court. Their eyelids twitched.

The battle raged on, but Su Yi had just launched a shocking counterattack!

His unassuming figure surged with a tidal wave of sword intent. It connected heaven and earth and blanketed everything on all sides!

That imposing sword force was as dazzling as the sun, the sole source of light illuminating all of heaven and earth. Everything else seemed dimmer by comparison.

Yue Qiong had held the advantage, but now, he was suddenly unable to do anything but passively defend himself!

When the patriarchs saw this, every last one of them looked stricken.

The meeting hall fell utterly silent.
