Chapter 2538 - With My Sword in Hand, I Grant You Death
Chapter 2538 – With My Sword in Hand, I Grant You Death
Su Yi sank into thought.
“It’s not too late to change your mind,” said Xun Wuyuan.
Su Yi laughed. “That’s not enough to intimidate me.”
Xun Wuyuan looked stunned.
“The Laws of the natural order have collapsed, but the God Domain’s chaos source remains intact, and it won’t vanish anytime soon,” said Su Yi. “If I’m not mistaken, the False Eternals of Ravening Wolf Daoist Court still can’t enter the present day. All they can do is turtle up like wimps in your spacetime forbidden zone. Am I right?”
False Eternals? Wimps?
These words were extraordinarily grating to Xun Wuyuan’s ears. He glowered and said, “Our patriarchs might not be able to enter the present day in the near future, but if you dare enter our spacetime forbidden zone, you’ll be throwing your life away!”
Su Yi flicked his finger, and a wisp of the Laws of Supreme Emergence arose.
“This is a power of divine punishment born of the God Domain’s source. I once used it to destroy a spacetime forbidden zone,” said Su Yi. “Do you think it’s enough to threaten Ravening Wolf Daoist Court?”
Xun Wuyuan looked stricken. He recalled something they’d learned during their investigations. Several years ago, Su Yi had personally destroyed the Great Yin Divine Race’s spacetime forbidden zone, the Thunderwind Sea!
He didn’t even need to think that this was how Su Yi had done it!
“Our patriarchs won’t just let you act as you please.” Xun Wuyuan took a deep breath and said, “The Dark Days of Legend have begun, and the Laws of the God Domain are collapsing. You’re nowhere near as great a threat to our patriarchs as you once were! Besides, our patriarchs include several Half-Step Eternals, too. They can already enter the present age!”
Su Yi furrowed his brow in confusion. “So why haven’t they come to kill me? Why did they just send you and that pack of clay chickens and porcelain dogs?”
Xun Wuyuan gnashed his teeth with hatred. His phrasing is just too unpleasant!
But Xun Wuyuan couldn’t be bothered to speak with him any further. “Go find out for yourself!”
“That works too.” Su Yi inclined his head.
About ten minutes later, a stretch of ocean perpetually shrouded in dark mists came into view. It was dotted with islands that came in and out of view as the mists shifted.
Tides of spacetime power visible to the naked eye surged around the entire stretch of ocean, contorting and collapsing space. Numerous rifts had formed.
This was the Ravening Wolf Forbidden Zone, the spacetime forbidden zone created by Ravening Wolf Daoist Court.
“Should I send you on your way now, or would you like to wait a while longer?” Su Yi stopped in midair and asked casually.
Xun Wuyuan was flabbergasted. “Didn’t you bring me here to use me as a hostage?”
Su Yi laughed dryly. “You’re not worth it, and anyway, I disdain to do so.”
Xun Wuyuan dared not disbelieve him; if he did, Su Yi might well kill him on the spot.
“In that case, I’d… like to wait a while longer,” Xun Wuyuan said gravely.
Even as the words left his mouth, he felt deeply humiliated.
“Very well.” Su Yi inclined his head, then casually tossed Xun Wuyuan aside. “Just stay here and watch the show.”
With that, he strode toward the distant Ravening Wolf Forbidden Zone.
Xun Wuyuan’s heart churned with emotion. Even now, he found it hard to believe. Just where does Su Yi get the confidence to venture into our territory alone?
This is just too brazen! And too frenzied!
Before Su Yi had even drawn near, the sound of war horns emanated from within the Ravening Wolf Forbidden Zone. The dark mists churned, and a dense swath of divine radiance shot into the firmament.
Immediately afterward, a group of experts shot out of the Ravening Wolf Forbidden Zone, all of them with terrifying auras and seething murderous intent.
“Su Yi!?” When the experts of Ravening Wolf Forbidden Zone emerged from the mists and saw Su Yi, all of them were stunned.
Then, their expressions darkened.
“Were you the one who killed over one hundred of our allies earlier?” their leader, an elder with old-fashioned robes, a tall hat, and a prominent silver mustache said coldly. His voice went off like a thunderclap, booming throughout the nine heavens and the ten earths.
There was no doubt about it. They’d received Xun Wuyuan’s message, and they knew of the grand battle that had taken place outside Sunset Perch Island.
“That’s right,” Su Yi said calmly. “It’s bad enough that you hurt my friend. Why send a group to throw their lives away? Your deaths are unworthy of pity.”
He stood there, all alone, yet utterly domineering, calm, and contemptuous. He showed no sign of fear whatsoever.
“So you plan to continue your violence?” the old man with the tall hat said gravely.
“No, I’m here for revenge,” Su Yi said casually. “And while I’m at it, I’ll see if I can flatten this spacetime forbidden zone of yours.”
“???” The crowd didn’t know what to make of that. He’s way too aggressive!
“Ancestor, no need to waste time talking to him. Since he’s come here to throw his life away, let’s just give him what he wants!”
Many of the experts were furious. They erupted with murderous intent.
The old man leading the group glowered. Ravening Wolf Daoist Court was one of the three great factions of the Epoch of Sumeru. When had anyone ever disdained or threatened them like this?
Admittedly, to the people of the God Domain, they were outsiders.
Still, even if they scoured the entire God Domain, they could count the factions worthy of being their enemies on their fingers!
Yet despite the circumstances, Su Yi had come here alone, and he was threatening them to their faces. Who wouldn’t have been angry?
“Whatever you do, don’t do anything impulsive!” Xun Wuyuan called out frantically. “You’re no match for him! Hurry and call for the patriarchs!”
His voice boomed throughout heaven and earth.
His cultivation base had been sealed, and he couldn’t move, but he could still speak.
Uproar followed this warning. A clamor of voices arose. Many of them were noticing Xun Wuyuan’s battered, limp figure hovering in the distance for the first time. He was covered in blood, and his wounds were severe!
The experts of Ravening Wolf Daoist Court all looked stricken.
“I think his advice is quite reliable,” laughed Su Yi.
The crowd was stunned and angry. Xun Wuyuan was among “Those Who’d Knocked on the Door”, yet even he had been brutalized to such an extent. How could any of them fail to realize Su Yi’s strength after seeing that?
“We’ll just have to listen to you, then, Fellow Daoist Su.” A deep voice suddenly resounded throughout heaven and earth. Heaven and earth shook, and the surrounding ocean caved in.
A resplendent rain of the light of the Grand Dao fell, then silently transformed into a man in white.
He had quite distinctive features, with a head of fiery red hair. His skin was as fair as jade, and he cut a tall, proud figure. When his eyes opened and closed, they flowed with lightning-like red light, intimidating the soul.
Yue Qiong!
The thirteenth generation patriarch of Ravening Wolf Daoist Court, and a Half-Step Eternal.
“Patriarch!” Everyone present was instantly solemn. All of them bowed.
“Step back, all of you.” Yue Qiong waved to them.
The whole group instantly retreated back into the Ravening Wolf Forbidden Zone.
When he saw Patriarch Yue Qiong take over, Xun Wuyuan inwardly sighed in relief.
“Just you?” said Su Yi. “Aren’t there supposed to be five Half-Step Eternals and two False Eternals in Ravening Wolf Daoist Court?”
False Eternals? This choice of words left Patriarch Yue Qiong stunned. He laughed, “Fellow Daoist Su, do I really seem that useless to you?”
As he spoke, he lightly stepped through the air, traversing the sky over the churning waves and drawing closer to Su Yi. His white clothing billowed in the wind.
A strange, mysterious transformation silently spread across heaven and earth.
The seawater seemed to boil, and the sky was covered in burns. A searing current seemingly capable of burning all Daos spread with shocking speed.
Dust, light, shadow, water, and mist… all of it silently burnt into ash.
In the blink of an eye, the entire stretch of heaven and earth transformed into a giant furnace!
Yue Qiong now resembled an unparalleled sovereign emerging from an endless sea of flames. His hair, brow, and skin… his whole body surged with crystalline, mysterious, fiery dao Markings.
An indescribably explosive destructive power swept forth like a tidal wave or avalanche.
The surrounding ocean burned, transforming into a sea of flames.
The endless skies seemed to melt beneath the searing flames. The burnt skies repeatedly withered and collapsed.
Even Su Yi couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows. A hint of solemnity appeared in the depths of his gaze. So, this is the true power of a Half-Step Eternal?
I fought Di E several years ago. He’s a Half-Step Eternal too, but he was nothing like this. Either he was holding back for fear of a backlash, or… this Patriarch Yue Qiong of Ravening Wolf Daoist Court is far stronger than him!
“Fellow Daoist Su, do you think I’m enough of an opponent for you now?” Yue Qiong said leisurely. His white robes swayed around him, and wherever he passed, all things burned, and the sky burned. It seemed he coult anything and everyting.
His divine majesty was so tyrannical and explosive as to strike terror into the heart of any Nine-Tribulation Master God around! Su Yi felt terrifying presssure, too.
He calmly sensed the pressure, then calmly shook his head. “You might be able to give me a real fight, but I didn’t come here for a clash of the Grand Dao.”
In other words, he had other cards in addition to his personal strength!
Yue Qiong silently came to a stop, his fiery eyes staring intently at Su Yi. “Go ahead and try it.”
It was just two light, airy words, but it was as if he’d poured oil on a fire. The landscape shrouded in seemingly endless flames shook violently as if about to collapse.
Meanwhile, Yue Qiong’s imposing aura grew all the more terrifying! Even from a distance, everyone felt intense, suffocating pressure.
Wondrous light of the Grand Dao silently surged around Su Yi, neutralizing this tidal wave of pressure.
He brushed off his clothes, then said calmly, “So long as you don’t flee, I’ll use this sword to grant you death.”
