First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2556 - Kneel

Chapter 2556 – Kneel

Outside the ancient ritual grounds, all was silent save for Su Yi’s calm voice still echoing through the air.

Everyone was flabbergasted. Even the old man Su Yi had saved was wide-eyed and tongue-tied. He’s demanding that the chaos fiends kneel!

And he says they won’t be worthy of answering his questions otherwise. What kind of confidence does someone need to say something like that?

After all, this was the chaos fiends’ territory, and they saw outsiders as prey. Every Master God here was in grave peril!

“What… Did he just say?” The four-armed Ming Ke asked in disbelief.

“I dare not believe my ears either…” said the three-tailed woman.

The other nearby chaos fiends had similarly dark looks on their faces. They dared not believe it either.

“Don’t just stand there. Kill that brazen prey animal!” Jin Ba, the armored giant, crawled to his feet and shouted.

As his voice boomed through the air, Jin Ba stretched out his hand, and a thousand-foot bone spear appeared in his grip. He took a step forward and attacked Su Yi with fierce momentum and terrifying force.

The other chaos fiends reacted as if awakening from a dream. Their gazes filled with murderous intent, and they seemed to want to attack en masse.

But then, Su Yi stretched out his hand, seized Jin Ba’s white bone spear, twisted, and shook it.

Overflowing, unstoppable power erupted from the bone spear, shattering the hand Jin Ba used to hold it.

As fresh blood splattered the air, Su Yi gripped the spear and thrust it forward.

Splurt!

The spear pierced Jin Ba’s chest, tail end first, then came out the other side.

Jin Ba shrieked in agony and was just about to struggle when Su Yi suddenly pushed down on the spear as if swinging a sword.

The crowd watched in astonishment as the pole of Jin Ba’s spear cut through his chest, cleaving him open!

Spluurt!

Fresh blood and chunks of organs fell like a waterfall, pouring out of Jin Ba and splattering the earth. He toppled to the ground with a bang.

He hadn’t quite been bisected, so the two almost separate halves of his corpse pointed in different directions. It was as if he were doing a split… except the split went all the way up to his chest!

Above the cut, his upper body was fully intact, but beneath it, he’d been reduced to an indistinct meaty pulp. He shrieked in agony, terror written all over his face.

The onlookers shuddered at this bloody spectacle.

Su Yi, meanwhile, extracted the white bone spear and casually swung it.

Bang!

Jin Ba’s head split into pieces, and his screams came to an abrupt halt. A chaos fiend mighty enough to threaten Nine-Tribulation Master Gods had died, just like that!

The dense stench of blood permeated the air.

Everyone who witnessed Jin Ba’s death, both the Master Gods and the other chaos fiends, felt chills course down their spines. Their expressions shifted dramatically.

It was just too brutal!

Su Yi had destroyed a mighty chaos fiend as if he were made of rotten wood. It was as effortless as slaughtering a dog or chicken!

“You…” Ming Ke’s eyes widened. “Don’t tell me you’re one of those Half-Step Eternals?”

Su Yi disregarded the question, then looked at the other chaos fiends. “I’ll give you three snaps of the fingers. If none of you kneel, all of you must die.”

His voice was like the sound of impending doom!

The chaos fiends gasped. All of them could sense Su Yi’s domineeringness.

When he’d first commanded them to kneel, they found it absurd, even laughable, but who’d dare to believe such a thing now that Jin Ba was dead?

One of the chaos fiends gnashed his teeth and broke the deathly silence. “The Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm is our territory. No matter how strong you are, you’ll…”

But before he could finish his sentence, a muffled impact brought his words to an abrupt halt. Su Yi had swung the thousand-foot spear, blasting the chaos fiend to smithereens!

His body split with a spray of blood, staining the sky red. The chaos fiends near him all looked stricken, and all of them moved further away.

“Kneel, or don’t. Make your choice,” Su Yi said calmly. “If anyone wastes my time with any more nonsense, I’ll kill them.”

Deathly silence fell.

The atmosphere was so bloody and oppressive that the crowd could barely breathe.

“Even if I die, there’s no way I’ll kneel to a lowly human like you!” Suddenly, a stalwart chaos fiend covered in scales roared in fury and charged at Su Yi.

Splurt!

A moment later, the white bone spear ran him through, pinning him in place mid-charge, like a wild hare shot by a hunter. He couldn’t even struggle, let alone fight back.

This time, even the Master Gods could tell that this young man in Daoist robes could one-sidedly crush the chaos fiends!

They couldn’t help but feel astonished. Who is this guy? Why haven’t we heard of him before?

Don’t tell me that he’s a terrifying existence from a spacetime forbidden zone?

“Retreat!!” Some of the chaos fiends turned to flee. Su Yi’s momentum had thoroughly intimidated them.

Su Yi gripped the bone spear, then swung, thrust, and sliced. They were simple movements, but they were full of unstoppable, overwhelming power that threw the entire stretch of heaven and earth into chaos.

The fleeing chaos fiends toppled, one by one, their bodies offering no more resistance than paper.

One of them fled especially quickly. He’d soon make it over the horizon.

But then, Su Yi flung the bone spear, and the fastest of the chaos fiends was no more. His body exploded, like a goose shot mid-flight.

A blood-red “firework” bloomed, especially striking beneath the distant, overcast skies.

This entire series of events happened practically in a flash. By the time everyone came back to their senses, only Ming Ke and the three-tailed woman were left.

The blood had drained from their faces, and they trembled uncontrollably. When they looked at Su Yi, their eyes were full of dread.

From beginning to end, Su Yi just stood there, not moving a muscle, but Jin Ba and the other chaos fiends had all been massacred! Not one had escaped, and not one had been spared.

“Your time is up,” said Su Yi. His expression was as calm as ever, and his voice was as flat as ever. This whole time, he spoke as coolly as if he were commenting on the weather.

But that just made him seem all the more terrifying and all the more unfathomable!

Thud! Thud!

Before Su Yi’s voice had even finished echoing through the air, Ming Ke and the three-legged woman’s knees thudded to the ground.

The Master Gods Su Yi had saved were all rendered speechless. Those are chaos fiends! Yet now, they’re so scared that they’re kneeling!

“If you have anything to ask, please go right ahead, sir. So long as I can answer you, I’ll hold nothing back.” Ming Ke lowered his head, his expression ashen.

Su Yi brushed off his clothes. “Then tell me about this world in a pit.”

The outside world had known nothing of this place, not even of its existence. Everyone living here was a chaos fiend.

Even now, Su Yi had no idea how big this world was, or how many chaos fiends lived here.

Both chaos fiends were extremely cooperative from this point on. They told him about the world in the pit in full detail.

About ten minutes later, Su Yi finally understood. In the outside world, they called his place “the hidden realm at the bottom of the pit.” However, its inhabitants referred to it as the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm.

Just as Su Yi had predicted, this world was created from a piece of the primordial chaos that had given rise to the God Domain.

And the one who’d created it was a chaos fiend known as the Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend!

An ancient among chaos fiends, and a legendary figure.

The Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm wasn’t huge, but it was still about the size of some planes of the outside world. It was shrouded in darkness year round.

Less than two thousand chaos fiends lived here. Of them, only sixteen of those born prior to the formation of the God Domain still lived.

The vast majority had been born after the God Domain, rising from the primordial chaos of the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm.

Despite the passage of countless years, there were still less than two thousand of them.

The reason was simple. Chaos fiends couldn’t reproduce; all of them were born of chaos.

That was why they were called chaos fiends!

Unfortunately, the age of the chaos fiends had ended a long time ago. In the countless years following the parting of primordial chaos, the God Domain’s chaos source had manifested countless Daos and worlds.

This had effectively excavated the ground capable of creating chaos finds, severely reducing their numbers.

This was why chaos fiends had already left the stage by the time the Ages of the Five Supremes had begun, and why chaos fiends had long since vanished into obscurity.

They were indeed terrifying, and they were gods from the moment of their birth, lofty and superior with unbelievable bloodlines and innate abilities.

But their inability to reproduce was a fatal defect!

The Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm retained a fragment of primordial chaos. This was what allowed it to continuously give rise to new chaos fiends.

Now that the Dark Days of Legend had arrived, the natural order had collapsed. The last remaining piece of the God Domain’s primordial chaos was now flowing away, and as time passed, it would disappear completely, rendering the chaos fiends completely unable to “reproduce”!

It was because they sensed the impending crisis that, of late, the chaos fiends of the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm had been capturing Undying Realm Master Gods from the outside world like mad.

They wanted to gather subordinates and prepare to venture into the God Domain. They also wanted sacrifices to offer to the Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend, who now lay dormant at the bottom of the Chaos Fiend Blood Pool!

The more sacrifices received, the faster the Ancient would awaken.

The day the Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend reawakened, the chaos fiends would re-enter the outside world!
