Chapter 2557 - The Seven Great Chaos Kings, the Eight Great Fiend Lords

Chapter 2557 – The Seven Great Chaos Kings, the Eight Great Fiend Lords

Su Yi had a strong premonition that, although chaos fiends were all but extinct in the God Domain, other places like the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm existed, places where fragments of primordial chaos remained.

Like, for instance… the Central Divine Continent!

That was the heart of the God Domain, and Red Pine Peak still stood directly about the God Domain’s centermost chaos source.

The Battle for Order was highly likely to take place on Red Pine Peak’s Five Elements Altar!

Before long, Su Yi set all such thoughts aside. He hadn’t forgotten Lin Jinghong’s warning, so he wouldn’t be visiting the Central Divine Continent anytime soon.

Su Yi went on to ask a few more questions.

Soon, he learned that the Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend was a terrifying existence who’d gone to the River of Destiny before!

However, the Ancient returned shortly after, badly injured, with no choice but to go dormant in the Chaos Fiend Blood Pool.

The Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend had awakened briefly just three times since, only to quickly return to dormancy each time.

The Chaos Fiend Blood Pool was the heart of the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm, a gathering point for its fragment of primordial chaos.

That place was considered a taboo!

Su Yi also learned that the true top experts of the Heaven-Combatting Hidden Realm were the Seven Chaos Kings and the eight Fiend Lords!

These fifteen experts were all born of primordial chaos prior to the formation of the God Domain.

Of them, the Heaven-Trampling Chaos King was the strongest. He was the true ruler of the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm!

The strength of the Chaos Kings and Fiend Lords was highly variable, but even the weakest of them were comparable to Nine-Tribulation Master Gods.

The strongest, the Heaven-Trampling Chaos King, could suppress even Half-Step Eternals!

This strength was enough to surprise Su Yi.

The chaos fiends of the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm were indeed pathetically few in number. They were smaller than even minor clans of the outside world.

But their strength was far beyond the peak factions of the outside world!

It was no wonder that all of the Undying Realm experts who’d come here had been taken captive.

“Have you seen these two?” Su Yi drew his fingertip through the air, creating two curtains of light. These reflected the Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor and Hong Taiyu respectively.

The kneeling Ming Ke recognized them immediately. “I have. They were both quite strong, far beyond ordinary Master Gods. They smoothly overcame the trial of the Shattered Heart Battlefield. A few days ago, they were invited to Heaven-Combating Palace as the Heaven-Trampling Chaos King’s honored guests.”

Su Yi’s brow furrowed. “Honored guests?”

“Those experts whom the Heaven-Trampling Chaos King appreciates are welcomed with respect. They’re different from the other captives,” said Ming Ke.

“Oh,” said Su Yi. Inwardly, he sighed in relief. All was well so long as the Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor was still alive.

“If we want to leave, how should we go about it?” asked Su Yi.

Ming Ke shook his head. “Unless a Fiend Lord personally helps you remove your Heavenly Flame Totem, you’ll be trapped here for the rest of your life, unable to leave.”

Su Yi didn’t understand. “Why?”

It was the woman who responded this time. “The totem serves as shackles. When one who bears the totem tries to leave, the source power of the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm will block their path.”

Only then did Su Yi understand.

The other Master Gods’ expressions darkened. The looks on their faces were as unsightly as could be. Doesn’t this mean that, even though we’ve been saved, we can forget about leaving?

That is, unless a Fiend Lord personally helps us remove our Heavenly Flame Totem.

But… is that really possible?

All eyes were instantly on Su Yi. They knew that their hopes of leaving this place rested on his shoulders!

But against all expectations, Su Yi wasn’t the least bit concerned. “That’s easily dealt with.”

When the Heavenly Flame Totem first entered his body, he realized that, so long as he used the power of the Epoch Spark, he could erase the totem with ease. It presented no threat whatsoever.

Easily dealt with? The Master Gods’ eyes lit up.

“And what is the trial of the Shattered-Heart Battlefield?” Su Yi turned to look at the nearby ritual grounds.

“It tests the cultivation base and the Dao Heart,” said Ming Ke, as cooperative as could be, and honest, too. He explained, “When someone enters it, they’ll find themselves in an incomparably bloody battlefield.

“The battlefield is emblazoned with the imprints of ancient chaos fiends. Whenever someone enters, the imprints will manifest and attack.

“If you can’t take it, you’ll die, or be badly injured, your Dao Heart destroyed.”

Su Yi nodded. “So you were using this trial to determine whether or not we were worthy of serving you?”

“That’s right,” said Ming Ke. “The Heaven-Trampling Chaos King said that those Master Gods capable of overcoming the Shattered Heart Battlefield were elites in the outside world, and that we should put the capable to good use.”

Su Yi laughed. “And if they refused to be ‘put to use?’”

Ming Ke fell silent, but his silence was an answer in and of itself. Those who refused died, or were sacrificed to the Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend!

Su Yi had no further questions. Instead, he sank into thought.

Meanwhile, the Master Gods he’d saved came up to greet him.

“This old man is called Liao Yuanshan. Thank you for saving my life, Fellow Daoist!” The old man bowed deeply, gratitude written all over his face.

“It was no effort at all.” Su Yi subtly shook his head.

He’d intervened earlier for the simple reason that the old man had stubbornly refused to lower his head, and furthermore, he’d intervened at a critical juncture to save his companion.

Based on that, Su Yi thought he was worth saving. He wasn’t the least bit concerned about Liao Yuanshan’s background or faction of origin.

He saved people when he wanted to, with no concern for anything else.

He pondered briefly, then said, “Everyone, wait here a while longer. I want to try the Shattered Heart Battlefield’s trial.”

He’d tempered his Dao Heart to the point of developing a Heart Soul, and he sought “No Attachment, No Form.”

The Shattered Heart Battlefield targeted the cultivation base and the heart. This naturally piqued Su Yi’s interest.

The Master Gods were stunned. Most people would do everything in their power to avoid such a trial, yet this unfamiliar Daoist was going to take it of his own volition!

The two kneeling chaos fiends exchanged glances. They were flabbergasted, and they couldn’t help but feel a bit eager. If he attempts the trial of the Shattered Heart Battlefield, won’t it give us a chance to escape?

Su Yi, meanwhile, had already stepped onto the Shattered Heart Battlefield.

Boom!!

The entire ritual ground rumbled and boomed, and the chaos fiend totems covering its surface lit up. Dazzling, blood-red radiance shot forth, completely enveloping both the battlefield and Su Yi.

Liao Yuanshan and the other Master Gods tensed. They truly couldn’t wrap their heads around it. Why undergo trial at this juncture? Even if he wants to test himself, shouldn’t he kill the two kneeling chaos fiends first?

Isn’t he worried that they’ll try to escape?

It wasn’t just them. The chaos fiends were unwittingly stunned, too. How could he just walk right into the Shattered Heart Battlefield like that? Isn’t he afraid of what might happen?

But from their perspective, this was unquestionably a good thing. Both of them rose without hesitation. They planned to flee and call for reinforcements.

Liao Yuanshan and the others looked stricken. They immediately surrounded the chaos fiends to stop them from escaping.

“Do you want to die!?” Ming Ke’s gaze frosted over, his whole body brimming with ferocity. “Get the hell out of my way! Or else…”

“Or else what?” A calm voice rang out, interrupting him.

Everyone was stunned. They looked toward the source of the voice in a daze.

The blood-red radiance covering the Shattered Heart Battlefield had receded. Su Yi’s figure had come back into view. His Daoist robes swayed around him, unmarred by even the slightest speck of dust. He didn’t have so much as a hair out of place.

He stepped off the battlefield, and was now headed their way.

“This…” Liao Yuanshan’s eyes widened. He finished just like that?

“Did… Did you deceive us earlier?” Ming Ke reacted as if struck by lightning. He felt a chill in his hands and feet. Barely any time passed at all. Don’t tell me he seriously overcame the battlefield’s trial already?

No way!

The three-tailed woman’s face paled. She too was stunned. And here I thought we could use this opportunity to flee. Who’d have thought we wouldn’t get any such chance at all?

“Killing you would be no more difficult than turning over my hand. Why bother deceiving you?” Su Yi laughed dryly.

But when he thought back to the trial of the Shattered Heart Battlefield, he couldn’t disguise his disappointment.

The trial really did target his cultivation base and Dao Heart, and it was indeed incomparably perilous… for other Master Gods.

To Su Yi, this trial wasn’t the least bit interesting. He broke through it with casual ease. Naturally, the trial wasn’t at all useful for tempering his Heart Soul.

“Go release everyone trapped in that cage,” Su Yi ordered Liao Yuanshan and the others.

There were several Master Gods trapped in the cage. These were the ones who’d failed their trials. If Su Yi hadn’t shown up, they’d have offered as sacrifices to the Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend.

“Alright.” Liao Yuanshan and the others straightforwardly agreed.

Su Yi, meanwhile, turned his attention toward Ming Ke and the woman in beast skins.

Both of them felt their hair stand on end, and their souls practically left their bodies. They instinctively threw themselves back onto their knees.

It was humiliating, but they’d both obviously cast away their reservations in the name of survival.

Su Yi shook his head slightly. “Get up. I won’t kill you now. Instead, I’d like you to bring me to Heaven-Trampling Palace.”

He wants to visit Heaven-Trampling Palace!? Does this guy seriously want to fight the Heaven-Trampling Chaos King!?

Ming Ke and the three-tailed woman were stunned. Both of them found this hard to believe.
