Chapter 1662 A Legend
Chapter 1662 A Legend
[Reset Choice (Rewind Template)]
When Sylas saw this reward, he immediately thought of a wide range of uses. But after he understood its actual function, he realized he had thought too much.
His obvious instinct was to hope that he could use this template in the future to maybe return to a previous Tier and redo his foundation.
If he could return to Level O right now, his foundation would be even more perfect.
Technically, his foundation had reached the Peak of Legendary already, but that was a measure of the Wheel of Fortune, a treasure created by the system.
It was true, his foundation was incredibly impressive. But after forming his Dao, Sylas was well aware that there were many things beyond the scope of mere stats.
The fact he had prematurely left Level O would always be a kink in his armor that he couldn’t get rid of. But he was also aware that the idea of staying in Level 0, all the while dealing with all these enemies he had, was a pipe dream.
There was no way he would be able to accomplish it. And in the future, he would probably have to progress before he wanted to again.
In fact, he was in such a situation right now.
Sylas wanted nothing more than to find a path to become an S-Grade Race before he progressed to E-tier. But that was even more foolish than hoping to stay at Level 0.
He couldn’t even safely become a Demi-God without causing the genocide of everyone he knew and loved, let alone climbing beyond that.
He had thought there was some hope in the existence of this treasure, but he had been incorrect.
It was true, this Rewind Template could reverse things, but the key was in its very name. More accurately, the word Template itself.
It could undo something that had been done with a Template already.
On a deeper level, what was a Template if not a creation of the system? Something that could be fed energy to provide a defined output? It was the definition of a system creation.
Something as complex as resetting the body-especially a body like Sylas’, with so many tweaks, changes, and deviations not related to the system at all-couldn’t possibly be reset by a mere reward of the system.
However, something else could be.
Like a decision he had made in the past.
[A Legend has sensed you] [Would you like to establish a connection?][Yes] [No]
[A Legend has sensed you] [Would you like to establish a connection?][Yes] [No]
With just the slightest push of his intention, a question Sylas had seen in the past returned, hovering before his eyes.
He had yet to hit the reset, so the question hadn’t appeared again in earnest, but the Rewind Template could sense what he wanted to do.
If Sylas did this, though, his D-Grade Runeweaver Class would be erased. After all, it was after he chose [No] that he received it in the first place.
However, by choosing [Yes] this time, though he would lose this Profession, it would be replaced by a far stronger Profession in return.
But by the same token, his Karma would be forever linked with this so-called Legend.
As little respect as Sylas seemed to have for the system these days, that was just a symptom of who he was. He rarely, if ever, had respect for anyone.
Objectively, the system was an extremely powerful existence-something created by someone who was unfathomable magnitudes stronger than himself.
He said he needed 50 years to destroy the Emperor Sanctum, but even he didn’t put a number on the time it would take for him to catch up to whomever this was… But he did think he would eventually one day.
No matter how long it took.
[Yes].
The hovering, illusory words solidified, and without the slightest hesitation, Sylas picked [Yes] this time.
He was no longer the Sylas of the past. He wasn’t a weed flowing in the winds.
He was currently standing in the 001 Sanctum. He was the Progenitor of a Galaxy. He was a Perfect Spark Master. Since he had decided that he would reach E-tier within two months, then he was going to have to do exactly that.
WHOOSH.
The world trembled around him, the air shuddering. A mighty force descended, and all at once, every C-tier in the 001 Sanctum’s territory, and every B-tier in the Horizon as a whole, looked toward a single direction.
In the depths of their Scorpion Palace, Gralith’s eyes narrowed. He, too, looked up with solemn eyes.
This was little more than the Will of the expert. Yet it was so vast and expansive that he was certain anyone with a Marked Will across the entire Horizon could sense it even if they weren’t as close as himself.
Just what had Sylas done this time?
This person wasn’t just an A-tier. They felt infinitely close to the S-tier.
A Legend.
Sylas felt his Will shudder and almost collapse. As though it were a spring breeze, wafting to the drafts and whims of weather around it, it felt so very fragile.
This was the first time Sylas had ever experienced such a thing. Even when his Will was much weaker, he had simply never felt such a thing before-let alone now that it was so powerful.
And then a snort rang out.
Sylas could feel the trickle of blood flowing down his ears, vessels in his eyes threatening to rupture. However, he also couldn’t sense very much anger in the snort either.
Maybe if he were someone else, he would have felt discontent and rage. But it wasn’t the job of the powerful to hold back so as not to hurt the weak, especially when you had no relationship.
“This flimsy little Rewind Template. I can shatter it right here and now and waste your valuable reward. Why should I give you another chance?”
Sylas was still looking up into the skies and couldn’t see much of anyone at all.
He could only hear the voice of an old lady who was very discontented with him.
