Chapter 1823: Claim by Combat

Chapter 1823: Claim by Combat

Sylas ended his fusion and looked at Gogo.

"What's wrong with you?"

If it was practically anyone else, Sylas wouldn't have even given it the time of day. But since it was Gogo, he gave him one chance to explain himself.

Yet all Gogo did was whimper again as though he knew he was wrong but didn't want to back down anyway.

Sylas was rendered speechless.

"... You're not even three years old."

Gogo whimpered again.

"She thinks I'm a Demon."

Gogo whimpered again.

"I know that I'm not," Sylas replied. "That's not exactly the point."

Letting her live was impossible. There was no explaining how Sylas used the Demon World.

Gogo didn't even want to just let her live, he wanted to let her go. Sylas didn't even know what to say to this.

Once again, if it was almost anyone else he wouldn't have given this the time of day. But Gogo had already been throwing a fit about being left in the Hibernation Realm for so long, and now he seemed very insistent on this for

some reason.

90% of it was a stupid crush that the big guy seemed to have formed in just a few hours. But the other 10% was something deeper. Sylas could feel it.

It was a bit fleeting, and also a bit vaguer than he was used to. Usually, when he sensed something from Vipermancy it was quite clear. This was the first time the feeling was so hard to grasp.

But the vague feeling he was getting was that Meikai was important to Gogo somehow.

Exactly how? Sylas had no idea.

But now that he was paying attention, he could tell that Gogo had also really not liked beating her up either.

No matter how Sylas looked at it, it was just a random crush, though.

On the one hand, he wanted to end this here and now. But on the other, his instinct told him it was deeper than just Gogo weathering his first love.

However, how exactly was he supposed to deal with this? He couldn't have just anyone walking around knowing he had connections to Demons.

It didn't matter if he killed every Azurex but Meikai. So long as she was alive, it would cause issues.

And even if he somehow wiped her memories, so long as her body was investigated, residual Demonic Will and Demonic Aether would definitely be sensed.

Of course, they didn't know exactly who he was. But a name was less important than a Will, and who knew what shocking methods Gods could have if they decided to target him directly?

They certainly had more than enough reason to target him in specific.

Sylas took a breath and exhaled.

If he could tell why this was so important to Gogo more clearly, it would be easier to make a decision. But even if this wasn't related to Gogo's bloodline, should he really reject him?

What was the point of having power if you couldn't help those you wanted to?

Why did Sylas care about control so much? Wasn't it so he could do as he pleased? Why was he so worried about people in a completely separate Heaven?

Meikai roared. "KILL ME, YOU COWARD!"

Gogo whimpered again, tears practically brimming in his eyes.

Sylas ran a hand through his hair. He had never had children before, but he somewhat imagined it would be kind of like this.

Gogo lowered his head and nudged at Meikai's side. Their size difference was enormous. It might have even been an amusing sight if it didn't come with so many mind-numbing strings attached.

"Don't touch me. Who do you think you are? Are you even worthy of me?!" Meikai hissed, and it sounded like missiles descending from above.

Sylas didn't react much to Meikai's words. He didn't get offended on Gogo's behalf either.

In reality, she was correct.

Sylas' opinions on things like this would probably make some people quite angry-not that he bothered to express them.

As far as he was concerned, if you were a man and weren't able to provide a certain standard, then there were some women you simply shouldn't be allowed to pursue.

Sylas obviously had no such limitations on himself. He didn't believe there was anything he couldn't accomplish in the first place. But had he ever fallen in love with some billionaire heiress, he would have probably cared enough to become a billionaire himself first before doing anything about it.

Meikai was a God Beast. In fact, she was the best of an entire tier despite still having 20 more levels or so of breathing room to its peak.

She had the right to be arrogant and demand quite a bit from her man.

However, Gogo didn't have a reaction to these words outside a smile and what sounded like a laugh. Though it was a laugh so deep and gravelly it almost sounded like shifting boulders.

He nudged her again as though he didn't mind, and Meikai entered another furious tirade. Between Sylas standing on her snout and Gogo's teasing, she had had it up to here.

Her solar energy flared again, and she actually almost broke through Sylas' restrictions again.

Sylas inwardly raised an eyebrow. It sounded that if he really let her go, she was probably going to become much stronger than she would have before.

This female serpent was certainly a spitfire.

Gogo nudged Meikai one more time, then looked toward Sylas, a firm pleading in his eyes.

After a while, Sylas shrugged. "Fine."

Gogo beamed and then rushed back to Meikai, nudging her again and again.

"Dammit! Stop touching me!"

Gogo ignored her for a bit and then solemnly stood as tall as his body could.

His maw opened and a roaring ancient language came from his lips.

Meikai's eyes went wide, and then she trembled fiercely.

Sylas' eyes narrowed. Much of that he didn't understand at all. Though Meikai sounded to have, Sylas wasn't

focused on that. Instead, he held onto one more thing.

Gogo had sworn to claim her by combat within 50 years.

Sylas could only sigh.
