Chapter 1616: Part 1: Mistfall City

From MC’s Perspective:

Time goes by,

Then the airship exited the magic city. Now it’s going towards the border town. In between there are many satellite cities.

The passengers on deck are enjoying the passing scenes. There are no threats to their life. The satellite cities are part of the mage union as well, spanning over miles containing millions of population.

Apart from the middle aged man of the Black Tower. There are few other wizards from the Magic Towers as well. They were all discussing the newly added official members to the magic towers.

From time to time, people would bring up the Silver Tower. But no one knows anything about it. The members of the Silver Tower are less in numbers.

It’s hard to find anyone in the public eye. Since the Silver Tower name was brought up. They also brought up the name of the Green Elemental Tower and the Black Tower.

The expression of the Wizards from the Elemental Tower changes. Their schemes failed against that Silver Tower. They have suffered because of it.

“What was his name again?”

“Oh, right. His name is Vincent Carey!”

“Our higher ups wanted us to challenge him. But he seems to have disappeared.”

One of the green robed Wizard said. He is from the Green Elemental Tower.

“He must be hiding to break through.”

“Harumph, it’s not easy to become an official member.”

“You need resources for that. I heard he is from a humble background. I doubt he will ever break through.”

His friends started talking negatively about Vincent Carey. They hadn’t met personally. Yet they were sure that they could defeat him.

Meanwhile,

My eyes remained closed. From time to time I could feel the probing of the Black haired middle aged man. He wanted to talk. But I didn’t respond.

The Black haired man was frustrated. He didn’t expect the masked man to remain silent. They have crossed the magic city. Yet he didn’t speak one word.

He felt quite rude. But he knows he can’t cause problems here. The Manager is still here. If he caused trouble then he would be barred from future travel.

Though Black Magic Tower is powerful. It doesn’t mean that they could offend every business in the city. So he removed the option of confrontation.

Mistfall City:

A few hours later,

Old men Patrick and Otto are sitting on the bench next to the giant lake. They are waiting for their master to come.

The crimson curse chain still binds their mana core. They could tell that the master is alive. It’s a pity that they can’t control their life.

Patrick saw Otto frowning.

“Old man, just accept the fact. It’s difficult for us to bring out the healing type resources by ourselves,” Patrick said to him.

Hearing that Otto recovered his thoughts. He realised that he had a few years to live. Only the life-expanding treasure can save him.

So this crimson curse is not that big of a deal.

Boom!

Suddenly, they saw in the sky, a giant airship entering the Territory. The crimson chain becomes brighter, red glow.

It indicates that the master is nearby.

Next, both of them looked at each other’s faces. They knew where the anomaly came from. They immediately started walking over to the airship.

The airship takes a time to touch down on the ground. It landed successfully 20 minutes later.

Swoosh!

Next, the manager appeared and asked people to leave peacefully. Since the wizards are outside the influence of the Magic City and Towers.

They can cause problems. So the Manager reminded them.

The wizards started to leave one after another.

On the other hand, the black haired middle aged man stood up to leave. He left the Black Tower for the mission. He can’t waste time on unnecessary things.

He gave a quick glance towards the masked man before leaving.

Shortly afterwards,

I opened my eyes and said,”He is gone.”

I’m doing important work. I don’t want to step into unnecessary matters. The 2 crimson orbs in my mind glows all of a sudden.

I paused before smiling brightly. I think that they have given up the thought of quitting. Apart from me, no one can give Grade 10- Life expanding resources to them.

Then I began walking over to exit. I followed the people and touched the land of the Mistfall City.

I was worried that the guards would check our ID. But nothing like that had happened. I smoothly left the transport area and came to the main street.

I felt movement in my mind. The crimson orbs moved. Then I started looking around and my gaze fell on the 2 old men.

But I didn’t want to meet them immediately. I still don’t forget the Black Tower Wizard. So I asked the system in my mind.

[Ding! The Black Tower Wizard is detected.]

[He is watching your movements from the distance]

The system voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that my heart stirred. I knew the Black Tower dogs were weirdos.

Then I turned around and decided to enter the nearest inn.

“What happened?” Otto asked.

Old man Patrick’s eye flickered. As a bandit he knew human behaviour.

“He…He…He…, it appears someone is following the master. So don’t expose yourself,” Patrick said.

Otto was stunned. Then he started looking around. Then he spotted a black haired middle aged man behind the flying vehicle.

The Black haired Middle aged man started following their Master.

“You are right. Can we help him? “Otto asked.

“There is no need for that. He is just a level-9 Wizard. The master can handle it. Let’s wait here,” Patrick said.

They are standing in front of one of the coffee shops. So they ordered coffee. They knew the Master would come to them soon.

On the other hand, I walked into the inn. There is a middle aged man seated at the desk. I went to him and requested to use the bathroom.

The middle aged man hesitated upon seeing the mask on my face. Then I placed 2 mid grade mana stones on the table.

The middle aged man was stunned. Then he smiled before taking those mana stones. He then told the way to the bathroom.
